Mount for the simucube and the Ascher Racing button box made it to my hot little hands. Had to bastardize all my simlab stuff to develop a good mount integrated with the monitor stand.

Pretty stoked everything is mounted to the rig and solid with 32 inch screens.

Ordered a SDCC variant of the Czarface action figure and one for a friend, who doesn’t know I’ll be sending it to him.

I also ordered two copies of this photography booklet covering New York’s Hip Hop scene ‘82 to ‘92. One for me and another for my local record store owner who’s a huge Hip Hop fan, he doesn’t know he’s getting a copy either.

Took an impromptu trip to town as we missed an appointment to register for marriage this morning.

On my way back out I stopped by CEX (Second Hand Games, tech and films store for those not in the know) and picked up another 4K.

I’ve intrigued by the reviews some of the older films have been getting and I wanted to see for myself. I love film in general but I’m ashamed to say I’ve never seen Citizen Kane in any form. So this will be first time and what a way to pop my cherry.

New case and screen protector for my new phone (posted earlier). I had the same kind of case on my previous phone and loved it. So I knew I would buy one for this phone. It's a leather case from Nomad Goods. They also make screen protectors (duh), watch bands (Apple watch only, though), and charging accessories (cables, hubs, stations, power adapters, etc.)

Not exactly a purchase, but I was just given this XBox One X by a coworker who upgraded to a Series X. So I gave my old OG XBox One to another coworker. Now I have a One X and a Series S. EDIT: It's got 1 TB of storage. Sweet. Even my Series S is only 250 GB.

I'm selling off my patch collection and found that I have a bunch of money I otherwise wouldn't. I still need to figure out what tires to get and see if I can find a pair of rock sliders. Seriously, I had no idea my patches were worth so much, but ya, I'll take it.

I’m curious as to what a patch collection is.
Do you mean like the metal band patches I have sown all over my denim vest?
Sort of, they are embroidered patches like you have on your vest, but there's a huge market of collectible patches and several companies make limited edition ones. I collect, or rather collected, stuff from Prometheus Design Werx. Most of the patches I bought were released during "a drop" that happened every Wednesday at 12pm PST, had about 100 units available, and sold for between $7-$15. I sold one yesterday for $350 which is a hell of return on investment.

I probably have close to 5,000 patches that I've collected over the past 10 years. I'm not selling them all, just the ones that really don't mean anything to me.

Latch mechanism for my ML350. Opened up my existing mechanism, none of the gears were broken but they had slipped. One of two motors burnt out as a result and the cost + shipping of a new motor seemed pricey when I could just buy an aftermarket mechanism for ~$50 on Amazon. Half an hour repair job, AND I have the original should the aftermarket break a gear or anything along those lines.

It's actually a fascinating design; overgineered, but fascinating and rather simplistic in hindsight.

Dealer quoted $900 for the part alone and $144/hr, not that I would ever trust a stealership do things correctly

If anyone wants to know what the inside looks like.

Also, I forgot to use coffee grinds when I planted my vegetables and herbs this year so to deter the squirrels, I got a slingshot from Canadian Tire for $11 and went on Amazon and got a jar of 1200 clay shots and a target.

I was really pissed when I saw they had ripped both of 1 year old chestnut saplings apart; they're a rare species that can survive the colder climates. Don't worry, my low strength slingshot bands and the clay shots don't hurt them, they think the shots are food.

I shot at a groundhog from about 18 feet away earlier today, hit it on the ass and all it did was look at me. Gave me an "are you serious right now, dude?" look and just walked off. I might just have to install the "RED ULTRA VELOCITY" slingshot bands

I've looked into patches but I simply don't understand the draw. Sure, some of them are cool looking but the prices some of them go for are nuts.

I just liked the way they looked and just started buying the PDW ones. I had five patch mats hung up on the wall with my collection. I've only kept the Star Wars themed ones and some outdoor ones, everything else is getting sold. I had a bunch of Toyota ones too since those are really popular and sold those after I sold my truck, I made a mint when I did that.

Now I just buy a patch when I go somewhere and attach it to a mat. Pretty much every national park has them as do most attractions. I also buy vintage patches on eBay from time to time of places I've been along with old uniform patches. I have a bunch of shoulder patches from various forest services and I've been collecting fire department patches as well, especially hot shot crews.

This I have considered doing, but I kind of need to go somewhere first.

Found this guy on a local Facebook Marketplace listing a couple weeks ago.

Could've probably found a regular black model for less, but I needed my translucent plastic fix. Gamecube stuff has gotten a bit expensive for my taste, so I figured I'd start grabbing some original Xbox goodness while it's still reasonably priced.

I've had a few of these for a while (Ford Racing 2, Forza, Group S Challenge, and Sega GT/JSRF combo), but otherwise the rest have all been added fairly recently.

I also expanded my Lego Architecture collection.

This pretty much rounds out all of the Skylines sets that are currently available; technically San Francisco and Dubai aren't in production anymore so they were the first ones I grabbed after Tokyo and Singapore from my previous post. I'm also pretty pleased how a spice rack can double as a display shelf.

Ive fallen behind on RiffTrax releases by almost a full year, so it’s time to start catching up again. Like my comics purchases, these are all digital releases.

Obligatory helmet and gloves. They super comfortable. Got the mail today saying my bike is ready to pick up! So stoked! 🎉

I’m keen to hear how your experience goes with your bike. I’ve never ridden a Husqvarna before. Is it a single or a twin? (Looks like a thumper from the image)
It's not a new car or motorcycle, but c'mon, man! Comics!

I was a day late, I'll admit it. But the buying and reading of comics and manga never really stops for me. For example, these are today's purchases of real physical books from the local Barnes & Noble: Volumes 1 and 3 of "The Rose of Versailles" by Riyoko Ikeda, and volume 9 of Citrus by Saburouta. RoV is one of the most influential manga series ever. It's from 1972 and basically set the template for shoujou manga for the next fifty years. This is the first time it's been available in English, and these are amazingly beautiful books. B&N were having a sale. Buy one hardback, get the second at half price. They didn't have volume 2 so I got 3 instead. Citrus is a ten volume series, I have eight of them. Volume 9 was one of the ones I was missing. I'm still missing volume 7. Finally I went by Best Buy and got myself a cable for the controller to my new XBox One X.

You certainly know a lot about those books. Must be a keen hobby.
I was given a graphic version of 1984, my favourite novella, and it made the reading experience totally different to read it with scene by scene artwork.
