My wife and I decided we wanted this after the first episode was free on the PlayStation Store. I didn't understand what all the fuss was about until now.

And then a little piece of my childhood.

Right, where do I start...

Some rather lovely John Lewis towels...

Only the best! *cough*

An HP whatever the hell it is, which will undoubtedly go wrong at some point. Which is why I also bought a £12 3 year instant replacement cover thing.

And all that stuff.

Towels, silverware, cheese grater, oven mitts... Jeez. Are you planning on fleeing the country? :P

For the LAN at the weekend:

Brahma
Old Peculier
Belgian Wheat Beer
Belgian Abbey Beer
Ruddle's County
Black Sheep

I'll go and grab a pic in a moment.

Wow, sweet looking boat Frankinsten. I always wanted an RC boat but stuck to cars.

Picked up my new purchase earlier today:

Ruger 22/45 Mark III, 5 1/2 inch barrel stainless steel .22 caliber semi-auto pistol. I put 20 rounds through it just to give it a go. Gonna be a lot of fun.

I have now found a new and expensive hobby. Already planning out my next purchases.

Damn, I missed the free episode! I haven't seen the first season in a while.

I gotta get this collection! 👍

The first episode may still be free. Anyway, this is $30 at Wal*Mart. Or $2 an episode on the PSN Store, which works out to be cheaper, but I don't like the video store's odd DRM policy.

You could probably get it cheaper at Deep Discount, but this was an impulse buy for me.

Eh I'm not sure how to show this off, but I just bought the extended service plan for my MINI. Works out pretty good, for $1,400 I have oil changes, any additional services, suspension, brakes, and wiper blades covered up until 100,000 miles. A brake job alone is $800 so I have to imagine it'll pay for itself over the lifetime of the car.

I already checked the PSN store for the free episode, and it was gone.

It's alright. Sometimes, Showtime will air the past seasons before the new season starts. They've done so for the previous seasons.

The new season is going to be weird knowing 'brother and sister' are now husband and wife.

What does BMW make the brakes out of, Platinum?

I can do it myself for like $100.

Go to any dealership, a brake job will be at least that if not more. When I had the brakes done on the Blazer, rotors, pads and install was almost $900.

I don't mind paying someone else to do the work on my car, especially if that someone is a service tech for a specific company. The MINI is a PITA to work on too, so I'd rather leave it to the people that know what the hell they are doing.

Nice! Looks really sweet,

You can be solid snake :), just don't go tranquilizing your neighbors:dopey:.

(p.s. I know its not the same gun from MGS4 but its close enough (the one in MGS4 is a Mk II))

Probably not the best idea with a .22LR round.

Edit: And now you've got me looking at getting a gun just like yours...great. Like I'm in need of a new expensive hobby.

I'm going to do that also.

Can MINI suddenly go and void it on you? Seems like some of those parts can be easily and cheaply upgraded to better performing options if you so desired. Some manufacturers/dealers aren't crazy about honoring parts or all of a warranty if you chose to tinker here and there.

They can void it if I decide to go ahead and use an aftermarket part. Like if I want brake rotors replaced by them, I need to keep the OEM ones on there. I don't really plan on doing anything performance wise to the car so I should be fine. Really the only thing I plan on doing is adding a new grill and maybe tinting the windows. Past that I'm pretty happy with the way the car performs and looks.

Brake jobs are easy. All you need is brute force and a bigass flathead screwdriver.

The GTI more or less stopped breaking down once we got our extended warranty. We got it for $2400 a year ago and have only tapped into it for one $300 repair. But ours also doesn't include maintenance, only things that break.

It's not really an extended warranty, just an extended maintenance plan. Although if a part covered under the plan wares out prematurely it's covered. Like if I have a rotor lock up and burn through a brake disc, they'll replace it free of charge.

Not to mention this also secures that I will get a loaner car when I drop the vehicle off for service. This week I had a 09 Cooper S for a couple day, I'm fairly confident I fell in love.

Lol yeah I know its not tranquilizer rounds, still a .22 round is relatively weak, I don't have any experience when it comes to it but from my very limited knowledge of the subject I have heard that .22 rounds are pretty cheap in comparison to other rounds so it shouldn't cost you that much for ammo.

Edit: If I ever move to the states when im older or manage to get a gun license in the UK I'd like to get a 1911 too.

There are a few things to note about this gun. First the positives:
Fairly inexpensive - list for mine is around $430, I paid $330. There is a cheaper version that is blued not stainless, which lists at $330. There are also at least a dozen more models to choose from.
Cheap ammo - Probably no problems finding 500 rounds for $25 or less. Where as you'll be lucky to get 100 rounds of 9mm for $25.
Highly recommended - You will find some who have had issues with Ruger, but that goes for any brand. They stick by their firearms and have good customer service.

And the bad:
Notoriously difficult to strip down - These pistols are an absolute headache to disassemble and reassemble the first couple times. I'm yet to do anything to mine, but I've read all the warnings.

I could go on and on. If you have any questions go ahead and message me, I'll answer them the best I can or point you somewhere that can do a better job.

You know, I only got the correlation to MGS after you pointed it out. They may be fairly small rounds and somewhat weak but they can still do some damage.

Good taste with the 1911. Fantastic gun. I've only fired one, and it was a custom built one so the similarities to a normal one are pretty few. It had the nicest trigger pull out of anything I've shot. Very manageable recoil. It's one gun on my "to buy" list along with some form of a 9mm and an FN FiveSeven. Then after I go crazy on pistols it might be time to move on to ARs.

Any idea how much you'd be spending on routine maintenance that you won't be paying for?

An oil change is $150, brakes are $800, I'm not sure how much struts are...but I'm going to need all of a few times before 100,000 miles. It's worth it.
