Indeed. Still looks great though.
Don't get me wrong, this guitar is gorgeous! I'm very pleased with the way it looks. Just that back, man. The finish is better and the quilt on it is more attractive, more my style.
Very Nice! How's it play/sound?
It's OK. It ain't no D-45 or Hummingbird, but it's OK sounding. The electric sound is fantastic, though. NO complaints there. The frets are a joke, but I usually wear them out so it's going to get a new set within year or two. They're just too small and thin for my tastes. The action isn't set right, either. WAY to high and a bit hard to play on the higher frets. I can change that, easily though. Just take out the bridge saddle and shave it down. I wont do it until I change strings. But, who knows when that'll be since I LOVE playing with older, dead strings. The angle of the neck is spot on, though. No buzz at all. The length of scale is longer than I'm used to and the width is wider also. But, I do OK with it. The radius is flatter than I'm used to but that's because I've only played electrics for over a quarter of a century. It's been a long time since I've played acoustic.
Nice alien on the backside. Fitting that it's green.
I love the finish color. I love emerald green. The back is lighter than the front. They made the front too dark for my tastes, but she still looks great. I think Gibson copied the color and call it iguana green. That's fitting!
The inlay is fantastic, too. The inlay at the higher frets are the worst part, and they still look spectacular to me. I love abalone pearl. Just so beautiful.
It's not too expensive, either. Something I wont worry too much about if Bob The Horny Leg-humping Wonder Pooch knocks it over or if the kids tear into it. Overall, it's a beautiful looking and decent sounding acoustic and great sounding electric. Great with overdrive, too. A touch of chorus, reverb, delay and harmonizer and this baby really shines. But, I can't get too aggressive with it, until the action is a bit lower. I LOVE lower action guitars.
Just a great purchase. I very happy with it.
Nice. Is it real quilted/flame maple? I've heard that a lot of Chinese companies use a "photoflame".
It must be "photoflame" but I'm not too sure. It looks so real, that I don't really care, to be honest. It looks so real, because of the natural imperfections. The sides aren't as quilted or flamed out so that makes me think it's real. I've seen those PF guitars and it looks so fake. I don't like them at all. So, maybe they got better at faking the real stuff. But, again, I don't really care. It's all maple on the body and maple is my favoite tone wood next to alder.
