Bought a KA24E today for $60

this isn't the actual engine I bought just a picture of one so you get an idea of what it looks like until I can get some pictures of it.

Mock these choices all you want, as I did not pick them! My wife filled the form out and she picked Wild Hogs and Superman for the kids.

If you guys didn't know, as part of the deal you only had a few choices and I didn't see anything that I would have HAD to have. The good ones were already in our movie collection.

Back to your caves heathens.

Hello, my name is Pako and I'm a gearaholic. My latest binge includes a Pioneer 60" Kuro Plasma. This also creates a chain of additional purchases such as additional cables, new furniture for the TV, and a new A/V receiver to upscale all my video signals to 1080p as well as HD DTS ect, audio from Blu-Ray sources.

I dont know, the fact that there isnt a statistic on the Contrast ratio of this thing anywhere on the internet makes me a little sketchy.

I am so glad I have bought this today because I have been waiting so long
It also comes with free GT5 Prologue at Futureshop 👍

They're saying 20,000:1 although they are also toting absolute black, meaning no light emits from the black which is an unmeasurable or infinite contrast ratio.

Basically, they are claiming to have the best contrast ratio's in the business.

Not sure about the paper specs, but it was the best looking display in the room, with the Panasonic coming in second.

I wouldn't worry about the contrast ratios on that at all, I've seen one running and its capable of a picture quality that no LCD will match (most certainly in terms of contrast and handling fast moving images) and few other Plasma's.

Come on what are you looking at AV wise? Given the investment you have just put into the TV may I suggest one of these....

...the Onkyo 875 will certainly do everything you need (and more). A simply stunning amp for the money.

Pako, if you get the 875, it's a good thing you've been lifting weights - it clocks in at 61 pounds. :scared:

I bet he can lift both with his left pinky, while holding all the grocery bags on his other 4 fingers and using his right hand to send a text message. 👍

 Yeah, it's a monster TV for sure.

Well actually, I picked up one of these the other day and got all hooked up, calibrated, and eq'ed for the room.

Details here

Franz-o, be it the 80gb?

I think I'm going to have to cave, not just for GT5, but with GTAIV out next week and MGS in June. The girlfriend is not going to be happy...

Actually, probably not entirely true; if anybody's fairer-half has given them crap about playing GT, hook up the wheel and let them try. She actually likes video games now!

It is 40GB actually. I can't find a good old 80GB anywhere now. I was waiting for white PS3 2 months ago, but GTAIV is coming so I go ahead with the free GT5P. Actually my better half is fully support it and the best part is using remote play for her PSP :D

Two more lovely imports from the US....

DualShock3_b494_screen_540x354.jpg

...as SCEE seem to not want to bring the DS3 to Europe and you can import one for less that a Six-axis in the shops over here it seemed daft not to. So happy with it as well, build quality is much better and the weight just feels 'right' and its good to have vibration back with GT5:P.

I love Coen brothers films, so this one was a must, the only down side is I'm away with work for most of next week so I will not get to see it before then.
