My Onkyo 805 receiver took a dump on me, so I had to buy something quick so I can watch TV again. Went very, very simple, this time.

Sony STR-DH750

Onkyo 805 that was just too problematic for me to enjoy. Glad it's gone, TBH.

No component or composite inputs, but I don't care. I never use my VHS or old HDVR anymore, anyway. It's been years since I used either of them.

New amp is great. Sounds better than the old one, and is one-third the price! Screw Onkyo. :)

My passenger side headlight assembly was cracked and gaining moisture badly. Asking around on Facebook groups and came across a guy who used to live in Maine. Got this OEM one for $40 including shipping. :D

I bought a couple frozen Stop and Shop pizzas for .89 cents each. No they were not the greatest I ever had but for a 7.5 inch diameter pizza that's under a dollar, who cares?

I liked the toner so I figured I'd go ahead and get the cleanser too. Saving the orange one for the day time. This stuff is even better at getting all the grime out of my face. Seems to coax everything out of my pores... most noticeable on my nose. Totally cleans out the supraalar crease without having to prod and squeeze. Would not recommend for the mornings though due to the glycolic acid.

I just pre-ordered and paid this off at gamestop. Hard to believe it is coming out in only a few weeks. This summer is flying by.

Rare Replay (30 games from 30 years for $30.00)

Thank you for bringing this to my attention! Just had a look at this online (had no idea it was even coming out), and all those classics for that price is too good to pass up. It's worth it for Conker alone, as a proper N64 copy usually sells for almost 10 times as much over here.

Np. I even made a thread for the official game here. I agree its one of the best deals I have ever seen for so many games in one collection. :)

Diesel Geek Sigma 6 short shift kit. Bought it as a birthday present for myself, I might be purchasing an AFE cold air intake for my TDI as well, I just don't know if I can justify $250 simply for more turbo noise...

The cheap tripods aren't too bad in a pinch, I used a similar one to the one you mentioned for this shot:

I have a Manfrotto 190XB + 804RC2 head but it's way too big and heavy for travelling and 3 way heads are such a hassle to adjust and travel with, which meant I usually left it behind unless I was doing product shoots.

As for heads, yeah it's a minefield. You have the Arca Swiss brand, and then Arca style plates/clamps/heads from other manufacturers which aren't standardised so you can't add a RRS Arca plate to an actual Arca Swiss head without some adjustment. And then each manufacturer has their own set of accessories/handling quirks.

Anyway I finally settled on an Arca Swiss P0 monoball with a flip lock. Came with a nice free bag to protect it during transport and 10% off.
Cool shot.

I just went to a yard sale yesterday though and got some cheap Sears tri-pod. It's a lot more sturdy than the ambico, and A LOT more heavy too (ambico: plastic ::Sears: Aluminum), which isn't a problem. The only caveat is that it doesn't bend from the top like a Gitzo, and it's a video pan head, meaning it has a spring to stop it from shooting down...

Edit:
AAAaand I bought a Pentax Super Program, with the 1.7 50, and 3.5 30-105 for $30.....

Finally pulled the trigger upgrading from the old school standard HD DVR's I'm renting from the cable company.

Obligatory lousy cell phone pic.

I've bought quite a lot in the past couple of days.

Palomino Collection Pack ($11):

I've been Dixon Ticonderoga faithful for a long time but I wanted to try something new and a little more upscale. I didn't think they were that different until I tried one of my Ticonderogas again...there's no contest. The Blackwings are incredible.

You love your brass instruments

(sorry for crap picture)
Got these in Friday; a 1.7cuft mini fridge for my bedroom, an escort 8500 radar detector I got for about 40% off, a Bluetooth OBDII scanner/reader/datalogger that works great with my phone, annnd a flask with a removable shot glass because I thought that was pretty cool

also not pictured are three power surge protectors because some old ones kinda melted
also I'm beginning to TV shop because mine got fried

Received my tripod head today:

Solid as a rock. It's so much nicer coming from my older three way head. The single ring design makes it really handy for setting and locking it quickly.

Is that the Arca Swiss P0 you mentioned earlier? Damn, that thing looks nice. It better be great, because it's not a cheap item by any means. 👍

Could you post a relevant face picture in the "Pics of Yourself" thread?
