Here's my set up. its a bit ghetto compared to some of the nicer set ups on here. lol But its a work in progress. ive been collecting legacy systems and gear for about a year from thrift stores/(opp shops in Aus) and craigslist/(gumtree in Aus), About a month ago i decided to start plugging it all in to see if it all works and to start working out the layout. Other than the ps4 related gear. most stuff was either free or up to $10.

I like playing all racing games as early as the 80's classics up to the newer stuff.

Update to my "rig"
My big TV died on me, so I had an upgrade... of sorts

It's now got a cat for one. I can now also place the TV much closer so... upgrade?

I built a room in my garage to house my sim rig. It was just out in the open and my kids decided it was a good place to play 'wheels on the bus', I would get home from work and find one of them hanging off the steering wheel, the other was slamming the gear shifter all over the place, all while singing 'the wheels on the bus go round n round' .... It was funny but not funny at the same time.
So I built a fully enclosed room in my garage that I could lock up. I dont have any photos yet, will try and get some posted later, but may be a little difficult as I painted the inside black.

I'm not sure that locking your kids in a fully enclosed room in the garage is a good call. And just because they saw you race and called you a bus driver!!

Gets them out of the way sure but I'd suggest you're better off locking them out of the garage entirely.

PRICELESS !!!!!!:lol::lol::lol::lol:

That puts me 1 step ahead, my kids never called my racing skills school bus driver like.

It annoys me that some of the cars have an offset driving position in GT, so you can’t see the gauges through the wheel.

Well here it is :) Its not the prettiest of builds, mainly because I needed to build so its easy enough to take apart if required, but it is solid enough not to fall apart and kill me while playing

The room is about 3mt long x 1.8mt wide, you walk in through the doorway and can see my slot car display along with other things I collected over time, then turn around to see my rig. The LED Strip running down the top corners is diffused in a way so that it is brighter over the display area and gets more diffused as it gets to the actual sim rig...This was a custom design by me, I'm actually quite proud of how it turned out, it doesn't come through in the photos, but is quite effective.

I am lucky enough to work in the electrical trade, so the room has its own dedicated power circuit, Cat6A data cabling, and all the lighting is RGB LED's (but tend to leave them on Blue). I have a filtered ventilation system on the roof feeding the room with clean air, running of a programmable timer.

I for got to mention my TV has Ambilight, I thought it was a gimmick at first but I didn’t find it distracting, I find it helps with immersion. Here’s a vid

Caution contains bad driving :)

Just thought I'd note in here. For UK users who may not have a Wheel yet. Curry's are doing an offer for the G29 with pedals and shifter for £180. Apply discount code LOGITECH10 and you can snap it up for £165!!

@Famine I'm unsure whether this is worthy of a thread so I thought this would be the next best place.

Here are some actual photos of my setup as I mentioned before

Did take a bit of adjusting as I struggled to see over the wheel at first haha
But very happy with it now
Used to have a wheel stand pro and a rocker gaming seat which was the opposite of rigid and solid so this is so much better

How do you like the ART cockpit. Thinking bout ordering one to replace my playseat challenge now that I have the space for a more permanent rig.

For me it’s done everything needed it’s solid piece of kit
I’ve had no issues with it at all
I didn’t need the pro as I don’t need a key board or things like that
But would certainly recommend the art does the job sturdy and compact in a small area

Is the seat comfortable, I'm really curious what's the difference between the two. Seen somewhere someone said the rs6 was more comfortable than ther rs9

Honestly I can’t work out the difference tbh, if you look on their website it says the difference in dimensions But I don’t think it’s like one is bigger or smaller it’s weird
I find mine is comfortable and had no issues with it at all tbh
