It's still the same business principle whether you get money off or not. People buy them knowing the next one a year later will have 'new' features that the one they're buying now could have. They obviously see what they're buying as still good value, so I have the same feeling about games. If I think what they offer me is worthy of £40, I don't mind if they then offer a ton of DLC. I've got my monies worth, that's just a premium add on. If Forza 4 shipped with 100 less cars than FM3 I wouldn't think I'd got my £40 worth, and would be annoyed greatly if they then added cars on in DLC. But they didn't.

Well I made the point earlier probably in a different thread that if they took money off the next iteration I wouldnt mind DLC at all..And thats not the same "business principle" Its similar.
Its not obvious they are buying it because they think its good value, they more than likely know they can get money off the next one.I know alot of people who dont know that,and despise Apple because they dont know.A random dude came up to me in the middle of a conversation me and my friend was having about iphones he was telling me not to get an iphone specifically for its lack of value.Then I told him that I could get money off if it wasnt jailbroke.He didnt know that. Alot of people dont get iphones because they dont know that.

I know its only 1 car but when route X came out they showed pictures of a new concept honda a RSC type honda i think ( im sure someone will put me right in the next post ), what ever happened to that?, the point being that they had rendered pictures of it on track which makes you think what else they 'could' release but dont.
P.S. Im still hoping that we get something else in the next DLC to go with Motegi ( other than acadamy cars )

I've been watching a lets play for Forza 4, and honestly, I think Forza is a lot more flawless than GT5. Now don't get me wrong, I am I really strong GT fan, but Forza looks really good too. I need an Xbox 360.

That would require a lot of work programming wise. Either it would all be generic "insert GT symbol" that people would hate, or it would be totally custom-fitted to each car. The former would suck, and the latter would require at least another 10Gigs of data. You may say you want it, the world may say it wants it but PD knows that they will just get flamed and hated upon if they do that. And as for the Veyron SS, you have to realize that the car that broke the record was the Veyron SS World Record Edition. Technically there are only about 10 of these so PD would make it like 10,000,000Cr=MORE hate towards PD. What we should be asking for is something less Reventon and more McLaren F1. Like a Gumpert, MAYBE a Koenigsegg CCXR Edition. I however would be perfectly happy with a Gumpert or Hennessy or SSC Ultimate Aero TT.

Once you get used to how different it is, you would love it. The car selection just keeps getting better and better, and they look great. I play both games and like them both, just wish PD would get serious about the DLC.

Did you seriously click on this thread expecting to see anything different? This thread is basically about complaining, and Forza's fantastic DLC is the reason why many fans are frustrated. Forza set the benchmark and GT isn't meeting it, thus we complain.
Again, Forza is the reason we're complaining, so how is this topic supposed to go on without ever mentioning it? Hell, Forza is even mentioned in the freaking original post!

People are frustrated through comparison. Forza's DLC presence is much stronger than GT5's. The one big plus on GT's side is tracks, but the vast majority of players want cars, which there haven't been many as far as DLC is concerned.

Again, your intuition should have told you that I was referring to DLC. Forza set the benchmark for DLC, not the entire sim console racing genre. Not every spoken phrase is supposed to be viewed and processed as black and white.

Because not all of us can afford to sell portions of their rig, their PS3, and their PS3 games and then buy a 360, Forza 4, and a decent wheel. And besides, I am a fan of GT5. It's the only game I play currently.
You know, it is possible to like certain parts of Forza and dislike certain parts of GT and still like both games.

Yup.. just saw the FM4 July car pack. The AMC Gremlin X is what gets me, one of my favorite cars. All GT5 gets is some re-badged toyota.

I have no idea how accurate it is, but someone on a Forza central thread quoted 25,000 purchases of the Forza Porsche expansion pack. Admittedly it was quite expensive, but if I look at the number of entries in Forza's monthly rivals events which require owning the DLC pack of that month, it's dropping rapidly, as are all the rivals challenges which you can play without newly purchased DLC.
I'm sure that GT5 numbers are maintaining a lot higher than Forza, just look at the seasonal time trials. So while I'm happily purchasing all Forza DLC, I suspect there are only a couple of months left before they stop making new packs and switch fully to Forza 5. On the other hand, new GT5 DLC, whatever it is, will likely get far more purchases than "better" Forza DLC because the current GT5 player base is so much larger than Forza. So it looks like GT5 DLC will run for a while yet.... Not bad when you consider that GT5 is a year older than Forza 4!

The games ARE playable with a controller, you know.. You don't need a custom cockpit and a 400 dollar racing wheel to play the game.
