Since Porsche is excluded from Gran Turismo 5, which tuner should be added?

Which Porsche tuner should appear in GT5?

As much as I enjoyed that game, I don't like "one manufacturer" games because you know by default the game will be limited.
But by far Porsche Unleashed is the best game of that kind IMO! :D Sure, there's Ferrari Challenge, but that game didn't really delve into the history of the chosen marque like PU did.

*nine ef ef*
or in german : neun ef ef
i love their roof choped cars but they are mostly undrivable in the 4 first gears because of wheelspin (too much power)

Who the 🤬 cares about "soul"!? :dunce:

As long these manufacturers makes an impact the auto industry, thats it all it takes to be included in GT. :grumpy:

I've fallen in love with Ruf already. I keep visualising cars on the asphalt Track editor and the cars that spring to mind fastest are the DB9, Ferrari 430 Spider, and the RUF 3400s. I also wouldnt mind thrashing the RGT round those twisty swiss (looking) roads

how come the new Porsche GT3 hybrid racecar is sponsored by GT? Does it mean something?

It isn't. Look at the other images from that site and you'll also see in the background a 3-series wearing exactly the same GT windscreen banner. It's likely some form of event sponsorship rather than car sponsorship.

For some reason I have never liked Porsche. I do not know why, but ever since I was a small child I did not like them. I am sure they are a great manufacturer, and I will be slightly disappointed that the game will be missing a premier car manufacturer, but it doesn't really bother me at all that it is Porsche that will not be in the game.

I feel that very same way about Mclaren and Bugatti, I would much rather have Porsche and/or Morgan.

Its a shame Porsche isn't included....missing out on some GREAT cars for a game of this genre.

I'm guessing RUF, and only RUF, will make it into GT5. Still, this game would be perfect if it had the GT2 RS as a premium :(

As much as I love RUF, they should put Gemballa in the game as a tribute to the late Mr. Gemballa himself.

Of course, simply putting in Porsche would be great.

From a Game Developer's point of view, I'd like them to stay with RUF. They already have a good relationship with them from making past games, and I don't see why any of the other tuners would be THAT much better. Saves time and prevents delays...many, many delays.

+1:tup:

How can Ruf be in without the permission of Porsche ? I mean at the end of the day Ruf is a tuner! they don't build the cars (you know what I mean ) they get a Porsche delivered and re-develop parts of it to make it faster. (like Brabus)
Porsche own the rights to the design of the car etc: So surely Porsche have to give permission for Ruf to be in the game.

Unlike Brabus ( which indeed is a tuner ) Ruf is a certified manufacturer according to a rule in German law ( another one is Alpina ), both Ruf and Alpina get an unmarked chassis ( no chassis number attached ) and parts which they use as a base to build their cars and then attach their own chassis number to it.
This is only possible ofcourse due to the close relationship and respect both Porsche and BMW have for respectively Ruf and Alpina and vice versa.
Both work together in developing parts and share knowledge ( BMW for example uses a transmission on their own cars developed by Alpina ).
So although it may appear both these companies are tuners they're not as both are manufacturers in their own right and can therefore decide to give their licence to a game without consulting or asking permission for it by the "parent" company.
A Brabus is still a Mercedes-Benz ( a Mercedes chassis number ) even if it's badged a Brabus, a Ruf or Alpina however aren't a Porsche or BMW due to the reasons mentioned above.
Although technically they might be perceived as tuner firms by those unaware they strictly and legally aren't.

These days most Alpina's are built by BMW staff on BMW production lines alongside regular 3's and 5's etc.

In that case what happens when they start turbocharging the M3 and M5? Just put different wheels and badging on it :D

Porsche is a far more prestigious company than Ruf and I'm not sure why Porsche hold out on GT. Almost every high-spec 911 is an instant classic these days and to deny the biggest franchise their cars seems weird from a marketing standpoint.

Exclusive contracts with other game manufacturers.

Possibly giving Burkard Bovensiepen more time to concentrate on his Alpina wines ( yes he makes his own wine also labelled Alpina ).:)

With EA ? Microsoft? I'm sure they could've payed...

With EA. EA can however "lend" the license to others for a sum of money. EA and Sony are however not really hugs and kisses with eachother, so EA simply ask for too much money for the license for Sony to bite.

from what I can understand is that the trade off for NFS titles is Ferrari.
