Since Porsche is excluded from Gran Turismo 5, which tuner should be added?

Which Porsche tuner should appear in GT5?

Good taste 👍

If we dont have Porsche we need more Ruf's

RUF 3400S ‘00
RUF BTR ‘86
RUF CTR “Yellow Bird” ‘87
RUF CTR2 ‘96
RUF RGT ‘00

RUF CTR3 '08
RUF Turbo R
RUF R Kompressor
RUF RTurbo
RUF RT12 '04
RUF 3600S '99
RUF RK Coupe Spyder

RUF eRuf
RUF Greenster
RUF RT12S
RUF RGT

But I still want to drive my '84 Carrera (as well as other classic Pcars)!

At the release of GT5 RUF can be enough... but as soon as the contract with EA finish, they MUST put Porsche into the game as DLC... GT experience won't be complete without driving a Carrera GT and some old Porsche racing cars...

The contract with EA was very recently renewed.

Microsoft asked EA for the license, upon agreement a huge amount of money flooded the EA offices. Money that SONY doesn't want to pay. Now, however, that Microsoft is close with Activision which forced EA to get comfier with SONY, the amount might come down.

"Lame," - Cartman.

Well if that isn't depressing...how much money could they possibly want that Sony isn't willing to pony up? Though EA has been getting close to Sony lately (just judging from their E3 presentations)

So if I can't have proper Porsches, but a choice of aftermarket specialists? Not counting Ruf, I'd pick a proper performance improver like Oakley Design or Manthey Motors. Cargraphic is fine too.
But that's like having Spoon instead of Honda, or AC Schnitzer instead of BMW.

I know RUF better, so if I were given a choice of which tuning specialist manufacturer was the best to replace Porsche, I'd trust RUF the most to fill the shoes. But I must say, that TechArt machine is very good looking :)!

I want RUF to stay, but (assuming there's no livery editor) I want some Dream Cars. A GT-spec RGT versus the JGTC and DTM cars seems mouthwatering. Call me biased but I'd rather have an RGT-R (speculative name) over a real Porshce GT3 RS

Me too. I want RUF from all that 3 mentioned.

What do they gain from that if all of their competitors decided to balk on the exclusive rights? Does EA now go create a Porsche Supercup game?

Sure, why not? They did it once with Porsche: Unleashed & it remains to this day, one of their best selling titles.

Only thing that is in my mind is RAUH-Welt from Japan. They tune and customise all kind of Porsches and look great imo.

Sadly, Porsche can not be replicated. There may be tuning companies like Gemballa and 9ff who take Porsche bodies and tune them up to 900hp or something stupid but they all lack history, racing pedigree and, not to sound overly sentimental and soppy, 'soul'.

Ferrari, Lamborghini, Aston Martin etc are all marques that have 'soul' imo. Porsche have been strong competitors for Ferrari and Lamborghini for 50 + years, on the racing circuit and on the streets. It's like a sporting rivalry: Man U vs Arsenal, Hannawald vs Malysz or Federer vs Nadal. You never really hear of a RUF vs Ferrari rivalry or SportTech vs Lamborghini rivalry.

Porsches are without a doubt amazing cars that are full of history and soul, but RUF has a history and soul as well. Check out the first part of the RUF history here:

Personally, I'll be happy so long as RUF is still in the game. (I would however, love to see Porsche in GT5 of course. Especially I would like to see more of their low-powered / classic models. I would love to be able to use a 912/914/912E in many of the beginner races.)

Agreed and I have a lot of respect for RUF. Ok, they aren't quite Porsches but they are great in their own right and recognised as an independent manufacturer, rather than simply a tuning company.

I'm happy RUF is in the game but I hope we get more recent models like the RT12 and CTR3 as premiums.

Wow, didn't realise that RUFs history stretches back to 1939!

In other words, things that don't affect the driving of the car or your enjoyment of it in any way, but they do affect the way you look in front of your friends who don;t know what a RUF or 9ff is. I like porsche and I enjoyed driving a couple of them but I'm not one of those who gets hung up on history or pedigree. If I cant get a Porsche in GT5, RUF will do just fine, just a bit rough around the edges.

I voted for the 1st option. I mean... look @ the Porsche 959 that enterd the Paris-Dakar rally. Pure awesomeness.

As much as I enjoyed that game, I don't like "one manufacturer" games because you know by default the game will be limited.
