Since Porsche is excluded from Gran Turismo 5, which tuner should be added?

Which Porsche tuner should appear in GT5?

So this has become the Lambo thread eh?

Can the OP change the topic title to include Lambo? It's kinda tough to just talk about the few Porsche tuners for a long time.

There is a Lamborghini thread in this forum. This thread is just going slightly OT.

McLaren, I see you didn't vote yet in this thread. Have any opinions?
I think any & all manufacturers/tuners should have a chance in GT. Kazunori-san has already said he wants GT to be an encyclopedia of cars, so I think any car would be worthy to be seen.

9ff is kinda overrated, their cars look nice and they can achieve incredible top speeds, but theyre not that good on the track because of traction problems and other stuff.

Just saying.^^

Can't be any worse than the HKS Drag Car from GT2. :D

I always laughed when the drag car came to a turn at the test track.

"Muhwahhaa 250 MPH!!! OH Crap! Turn!" *slows to 160ish and gets passed by everyone*

Only one of those companies makes the 917, the 959 and the 911 GT1.

It would suck not to have Porsche. They'd be the worlds only major automaker, not in GT :(

Maybe they're not cool with PD's relationship with Nissan.

Porsche: "We're out if the stock Nissan GT-R laps the 'Ring in the 7:20's, in your game."

There's a price on everything. Tell me what the DLC would cost. I say we lobby Porsche.

I went to the 9ff website and look at what I found:

It has a whopping 1120 HP, thus making it more powerful than the older GT-9

And a tuned Golf:

Again, if that was the case, why does Shift have Porsche & Nissan?

The real question is, could 9ff appear in a video game?

Gemballa can, TechArt is still a toss up and I think the others need Porsche's permission.

I'm looked at it's website and it says it has complete conversions. The 9ffs I posted don't have the normal Porsche monikers on them. So I think 9ff may be a manufacturer.

LOL@ the sponsor posting Porsche ads.

At least it's on topic! haha

Normally the ads that get posted are selected by keywords in the thread, in this case Porsche in the most used word so it selects ads that relate to the topic.

I highly doubt Porsche would be so childish about Nissan's controversial 'Ring time, and say they don't want to be in GT5 with Nissan.

There's the key word "conversions" a car that has had a conversion done to it is still copyright to the manufacturer that originall built and licensed it. Having or not having logo's isn't always proof a car was manufactured by the tuning company or not. The company needs to firstly be registered and licensed to maufacture cars, they also need to take non registered chassis, engines etc from Porsche. This means taking the parts off the production line and not the cars. Then they need to manufacture the car themselves and include whatever different parts they intended to use during the manufacture of the car. To do a conversion that suggests there is a car already there that is being converted, if that's the case then that car will be a Porsche and no ammount of converting makes that car not legally a Porsche.

Not saying its fact, or the only factor, but it's a possibility. I highly doubted that Porsche would hold out, and not join GT.

People mention them being potentially upset by PD's inclusion of RUF, so PD's relationship with PD could just be fuel on the fire that is burning any chance of Porsche making GT, ever.

Honestly, we won't ever know unless we get some sort of behind the scenes info. Hopefully things change. Their merger with VW. The unrest in the automotive industry. The sheer popularity of GT. The outcry of the general public. The success of DLC.

Fingers crossed.

Dave A., you seem pretty knowledgeable...Do you know if TechArt could be in GT5 (as in would it be considered a separate manufacturer?)

Allow me to repeat the possibility that EA had their license agreements in place with both Porsche and Nissan, before the 'Ring controversy ever went down.

Obviously PD didn't have a deal with Porsche, and already had a close relationship with Nissan, so the 'Ring thing may have become a factor in the midst of their negotiations. Maybe it's not even about the GT-Rs lap time in game, and just about PD's relationship with Nissan.

Also, are the GT-R and 911 in Shift, stock production vehicles, and does the GT-R in Shift run the 'Ring in nearly the same kind of time that Nissan claims the real stock car does? Maybe EA made the GT-R more representative of what their physics tell them a car that heavy should be capable of.

I'm bored, waiting for GT5, and a little miffed that Porsche isn't looking like they're in.

Yes, TechArt are a registered manufacturer, but like Ruf and co not every TechArt is a TechArt if you get me. Most of them are TechArt tuned Porsches, some are TechArt manufactured.

It makes me wonder if Kazunori has tried to get some type of Porsche-like manufacturer, (Gemballa/TechArt) which need no permission, in the case of Porsche being excluded. I mean, who wouldn't take this?
