Wow, awesome, Slip. Congrats on winning the CC.

Some beautiful pics there, the middle one in the third row seems to be your style.
The blur ones look good, a bit artificial looking, but still much better than me.
I really like the last one, too. There's something about it.

Nice update man! I've seen your many excellent comp entries, but I've not seen your gallery until now. The Motul pitwork Z is awsome! My fave pics are #2, #4, #5, #8, and #9. Keep 'em coming! :dopey:

If you get chance, feel free to check my gallery and leave comments.

Impressive set, Slip!

I can see that you spent some time around those. They are incredibly clean and some of them (like #7) look very realistic.

I guess the starting point was also good. You chose some great angles, some of them very original as well, like #6.

Even that around-the-corner-blur thing came out really well. I shouldn't be judging that since I know nothing about it, but it sure looks good to me.

Amazing work overall. Hope to see some more from you soon. 👍

Oh, and congrats on the CC.

Wow ... you won the campus cup 👍
Congratulation man ... you're awesome :)
For the pictures, they look mature and fresh ... love it

Rohrl-fan - Heh, funnily enough I was the opposite; I always loved the car! But I never thought to take shots of it until after the CampusCup, since it's more of a sentimental thing now. Thank you :)

Rev. - Thanks bud, no love for the verts? ;). I really am happy with #7, though I had to fix up the front-end's shadow a bit... I think the car bounced the way it did because I found a badly-mapped part of the course. Not like I'm going to go back to try and beat my time anytime soon ;).

MKthree - Thanks, it felt odd knocking the saturation down as much as I did as opposed to what I normally do (knock it up to about 20 or 25). But it really suited the combo, imo. Glad you agree!

Turbo - My primary concern with this set was getting the sense of speed I had doing that run, but second was unique angles (#6 for example). Thanks :)

Neocrox - Thank you 👍

JFM92 - I think I've got the basis of it down, though I do it a bit differently than others (PS7 for me). #9 actually had about 12 layers at one point, each with subtley different zoom blurs. Then it was just erasing bits and pieces to get a more curved blur, then some smudging to finish the deal. There's some rough spots, namely the top right, but that was just me forgetting to erase certain parts. It's definitely something I'll keep trying now and then, good luck to the both of us?

Garnett - Thanks, though there's probably three times as many as I put up that are far from smooth ;).

Vonie - Thank you! As for #8, I can't take credit for that type of shot, it was inspired by Franz' awesome Cobra one. I just do it every now and then because I really love it. Oddly enough, I found that angle on Laguna before I realized it was on Sear's Point. I've found the around-the-corner blurs look more artificial when they're stuck beside similar shots without it. Of course, mine isn't on par with Rev's or Franz', but that's just what I've noticed. I wanted to end on that shot because I'm just crossing the line, so maybe that's it?

Perfect Balance and wrxrex - Thanks guys

Magburner - You're too kind, thanks for stopping by the gallery, I will definitely have a look at your's.

Krame - In that case, my goal was a success. Glad you like 'em all :)

Diabolical - Yep, the pictures were taken about a week ago and it's been a slow, slightly frustrating build-up since. I really wanted to get this update done closer to win the CC was, but there was a lot of that pesky "real-life" thing getting in the way. #7 stuck out for me because I really noticed the discolouring around the exhaust with that one. That and the car's apparently floating ;). #6 was a fluke shot, but I wanted to show the Corkscrew and that was one of the best ways I could find. Thanks for the congrats, and I'm already working on the beginnings of a new update, so hopefully it goes over as well as this one :)

Franz - Heh, thanks. Y'know, I tried your Astra idea a week before the contest and while it would definitely work against the JGTC's on a less twisty track, it just didn't feel like it has as much downforce on Laguna. However, I think I had a 1'17 with it, so it's in the ballpark. The guy from Ottawa was a funny guy . Thanks again, man 👍

Update: First off, let me say I know this isn't my best work. I simply have wanted to take shots of this car for a long time, because I love the colour. Unfortunately, the textures on it are just awful, so these are the only seven images I could salvage out of about 30. I spent as much as I could cleaning up, but I'm no master. Now I know why I don't see it often, much like the WiLL. Anyways, enjoy this mini-update as much as you can, the next one should be a more proper one :)

Beautiful shots slip! 👍 The 1st/2nd and 4th are my favourites of this update.

1. Very nice blur plus the colours are amazing.
2. The subtile reflections on the car look very good. This angle is very nice, mostly cause of the blurred lightpole and that other thing (?) in front.
4. Great angle in front of the stadium. The colours of the trees in this shot are very bright and well saturated.

Very well done! 👍

I know how you feel about some of the textures not looking good on some cars, but I think you did a fantastic job with it!

The CL is worst nightmare you can face in photo travel
but hey .. these photo are really sweet
specially the first one ... haha kinda similar to my Falcon shot
anyhow my cousin in Toronto owns a black CL with lots of mod in engine department
ride on it few time, never fail to impress
and I love this car ever since
so I am kinda mad that PD had done this car in such graphic quality :(

You did quite a bit of clean up there, Slip.
I never liked R246 for pics, too washed out, but you've fixed that, I see.
I like the middle 3 verts.

I like small updates, even if I rarely do it... :dopey:

Anyway, you have some very nice shots there, especially given that that's Tokyo (I hate shooting there) and regardless the car.

#2, 3 and 5 are my favourites.

Good work. 👍

Not bad Slip. The pics are nice, even if the car is not my cup of tea. I can see you've done a lot of cleanup on these, and for the most part was very successful. Well done.

Update: So here it is, quite possibly my most ambitious Photo Mode undertaking yet. I really, really enjoyed PunkRock's "Know Your Roots" theme in the APMC a while back, and while I tried to recreate some of the old Normal Car Series, I've wanted to go further. So, here's part one, and I'm thinking it might end up being four parts. This particular one showcases all 8 of the original GT1 tests, though there's a few small detail changes. For example, there's no checked stopping area in shot 4, and the Del Sol is an SiR, not an S. Deep Forest had a more dusk-like feel to it in GT1, so I've tried my best to recapture that with some tinting on the shots. Numbers 11 and 12 are meant to look similar; I wanted to hint at the differences I remember going from FF to FR way back in 1998 :)

Freddy - I'm always happy to get more detailed comments. The CL update was abnormal for me because I actually preferred the landscape shots more than the verts, since normally the opposite is true. That's a support pillar in the second shot whizzing by, I figured the angle and zoomed-out nature gave the shot more of a "cruising around the city" feel as opposed to all-out racing, since the CL's not really about that anyways. Thanks :)

MKthree & Krame - Thank you both of you!

Garnett & Identti - I'll echo both of your sentiments! Garnett, if you want to see a troublesome car I suggest taking the WiLL VS out. If the front wheels are turned a certain angle, a huge black jaggie cuts right through the wheel. It ruined a fair amount of my shots with that car. Identti, it really is a hard car to shoot, it's long and not particularly wide, which explains why I could only manage 7 shots ;).

Franz - What can I say, you inspired me! The Falcon shot was in my head after I threw the blur on, though I would've much rather been driving that. I too am disappointed with how the car is represented in the game; despite it not being the sportiest car in its class, I always liked it, so it's a letdown to drive in the game (though I haven't tried the six-speed '03 yet). I'll look for the black one in Toronto ;).

Vonie - Yeah, normally I try to limit cleanup, opting for a clean shot ingame instead. But every one of those was touched up at least a bit. I find Tokyo pretty bad for shots too (other than the last turn, of course), but I figured I might as well make the set challenging. That and a CL being spotted in Tokyo, even though it's technically its homeland, is pretty rare .

Amemiya & wrxrex - Thank you both

Diabolical - That would be my smallest update, though the Tiburon at the start of the gallery was only six shots, but it was with two other sets too. It's nice though because it gives a greater chance for variety. There was something about #3 that I had to catch, and I love that spot on what's otherwise a pretty barren track, so I'm glad you enjoyed it as well!

Revolution - Thanks, I know it's not for everyone, but I have a knack for that in the gallery (a Micra facing off a '69 Camaro, the WiLL, etc etc  ).

Wow, lovely update as usual, Slip! The dusk look you've given to some of them really works well and gives a nice ambience to the pics. Can't wait for the next part of the update :P
👍👍

:( sniff*

man, those really bring back my memories of GT1.. the first licence test i ever had.. the first spin out i did on deep forest.. the first understeer (ever) in GT..
my first drive in the GTO..:(

thanks for bringin back the memories man..👍

pretty nice set too..👍

Never played GT1, but I can appreciate a good update.
The subtle softness of them is great, especially in #9.
The smoothness in #11 & #12 is great.

Bravo! I really like those!!! Really brings back memories, too. Which reminds me, I still haven't gotten all golds! :ouch: Back to the PS2 I go :dopey:
