Matt - I realized the pinky tone might not suit everyone's tastes (and seems to be a reoccuring theme in some of my more recent comp shots), but I really wanted to get the GT1 feel. Thanks for being honest.

Rev - It really does give a completely different feel to Deep Forest, doesn't it? I'm happy with how it turned out, so I may expand the tinting to other tracks in the future.

R32 - I'm glad it forced you to think about the old times, that was entirely the intent! I remember it took me a few goes at B1 before I passed it, and I remember being upset that my dad managed a silver when all I did was bronze. Not to mention I had just turned 12 back then. Now I've got all golds in all games, so now he's the one who doesn't want to race ;). And mentioning understeer; the Viper back then feels like a hyper-powered Elise in GT4! The steering is just so quick and arcadey in the old game.

Vonie - It really was a fun game back in '98. #11 is my favourite of the set, so I'm glad you like it too.

Thirdeye - Go and get them, man! 👍

Krame - Thanks, the method is still a bit rough, but I'm glad they're generally well-liked :)

Streetz - This week is midterms/other assignments week for me, but when I do have the time, I'll take a look or two!

JFM92 - Thank you, I always try to do something that hasn't been done too much in other galleries :)

The new update just needs some cleaning up before its posted, so I thought I'd bump this up now with responses before I post the update, which will probably be at some point Wednesday. Back to homework I go...

R32mania
thanks for bringin back the memories man..👍
Indeed!
That was a great idea, slip.

Nice angles as always. The tint at Deep Forest was a nice touch.

Some nice pic in here man.

Ps I was looking for your gallery all around the place whitout click on your sig link. But it was worted to wait.

Gran Turismo 1 Memorial Set: Sunday Cup Rivals

___________________________

Update: So here's the second part of the set :). This update focuses on the cars that are initially available in GT1 within your starting budget, and their competition. The three tracks are in the same order they appeared in the original Sunday Cup. As an added bonus, I threw the NB Miata in because it was the "forbidden fruit" car of GT1 (well, that and the Stingray), only being available in Arcade Mode back then, not Sim Mode. Enjoy :)

Wow ... your recent update makes me feel like you start a new game
License -> Sunday Club :D
anyway ... nice to see some crappy cars in a beautiful form
good job Slipz 👍

those are absolutely stunning :eek: its so hard to choose from a favorite or one that perticularly stands out because they are so wonderful. the quailty does not appear to fade eventhough u have so many pictures. it is obvious u put alot of hard work into it and the product is absolutely marvelous! the shots completely captures the heat of a close race and the excitement along with the adrenaline of not knowing if the race is in the bag. im loving them man, really. 👍 👍 👍 👍 👍

Wow, good update 👍 They look kind of "washed out" to me though, like it's lacking some color, but those are pretty damn nice too. Keep it up dude.

Wow... another wow... I'm just out of words here, you have captured the first steps in the Gran Turismo world for many of us! I can still remember the excitement trying to get those 1000m tests just right... and after that, getting a car and trying to beat the Sunday Cup! Those were the times, good times... :D

OK, I wasn't as out of words as I thought! :P

Great set Slip. You can just feel the tension in the pics and all pics have constant quality and everything looks cared about. Keep it up man. Maybe I can get some inspiration out of this set. 👍

Vonie - Thanks, I went back to the old game and tried to give each track a subtle re-toning to better suit the old versions. In hindsight, Autumn Ring could use a bit more red. I was shocked with how well the G20 came out; it's not a car I ever planned on shooting!

Franz - I've been tempted, because my current GT4 game feels rushed, mostly because I just wanted prize cars. Or do you mean GT1? I've considered doing a scratch game on that, since it'll take maybe 2 days... ;).

JFM - Heh, thanks, I hope you enjoy the next two installments as much!

FaLLeN - You're too kind :). To make the races closer, for the purpose of these shots, I entered the race on N3 tires and then switch to N1's, to leave the field on the better rubber. That also made it easier to get the cars sliding, but at this power level that was kinda limited. Odd that the most oversteering picture is a Civic!

Dick Steel - Thanks!

Identti & Gabibyte - That's always my primary concern with multicar shots. Also, before we all became accustomed to GT over the years, we were all beginners back in GT1 times. I wanted that to come through as well.

Matt - It's not you, technically; I did desaturate these. I also desaturated the last update, but the tinted sky pics threw that off. I wanted them to appear less colourful because their nostalgic :).

Greycap - You surprised yourself! Actually, I was disappointed I couldn't get pics of my original starter car; the MA70 Supra. The 3.0 is in the game, but only in black. It also didn't play nice with the field selection; I didn't want it to be shot on a track by itself. Ho-hum :-/.

Sejtur - If you can get inspired by this, than maybe I'll be inspired by whatever it is you do with it, and then it'll start a massive inspiration circle!. As for the quality; I'm glad people seem to think so, but the truth is I just weeded out the shots I didn't want to spend too long cleaning up on. Particularly, the S13 has awful textures, so that's why it features so little in this update. Normally I would take the time to clean things up or maybe even redraw, but I had a midterm today, so last night I was just rushing this update out because it was late ;).

The next one should be on Wednesday if all goes as planned, but for now I hope this tides over anybody who hasn't yet seen it :)

you definently have a knack for the battle shots.

the sunday cup and the b-license test are awesome. tons of cars filling the screen! i am a big fan of your recent updates for sure 👍

Great work once again. Wasn't it hard to gather all the right cars for that?
I can remember those races perfectly. Almost brings a tear to the eye. ;)

Anyway, I love the way how you capture multiple cars in a shot. You focus/blur the right ones giving it a great sense of rivalry.
I simply can't do it. Very nice. 👍

Thanks for such a wonderful set. :)

Update: Yes, I realize it's small. I may go back to the GT1 set, but I wanted to do other, different things with the gallery, and that was beginning to feel like a chore. This was something different (I only have one Photo Travel shot in here, the two Civics, ironically), and I had a lot of fun with it. FA's carbonfibre tutorial is probably what made me finally decide to create this car. Hypothetically, it's running the NSX's engine, behind the driver :D. Nothing too crazy in Photoshop, just subtle, realistic stuff. Enjoy :)

LMRacer - Thanks :). I always try to throw extra cars into shots when I can, it's more fun than seeing a lone car all the time.

Diabolical - You have no idea! I lost count of how many times I restarted races to get the cars I wanted. I really wanted the Supra to show up, but it just wouldn't, for instance. And what are you talking about, you do the rivalry shots great! I present to you exhibit A; your DTM set ;).

wow  thats very sweet! the mods look great. the color change is very clean! the carbonfiber lip, hood and spoiler is very well done and the mugen front plante is awesome!:drool:👍

WORD UP!! Them is the shizzle! What can I say... Awesome PS skills man! The colour looks amazing, and I like all the nice little touches that you have done - you really made them your own here man.

My fave has to be the second shot, though there is nothing wrong with the first, its just that I'm totally diggin' the the twin exhausts you added. 👍 Great stuff, keep 'em coming! :dopey:

Oh, My, God!!!! That's friggin' awesome Slip. I love this update. I wish they had come out with a red EK CTR. Any ways, great job, I gotta talk you about this though, I need on doing this kind stuff like you have done...

Nice work on the Civic Slip. The CF hood looks great. Did you use Photoshopchop as a tutorial? I did one from there and it it turned out pretty good.

Anyway, nice work again.👍
