Update: Hello, strangers. It's been a long, long time. Every couple months, I've wanted to come back, usually after a late-night random browse session that has me getting all inspired looking at some of the work around here. Then I load up GT4... and get disappointed. It must be all the GT5 media these days, but I just can't get excited about spending hours in Photoshop anymore. I noticed one of my favourites, Moglet, has recently ended his gallery, and I share the same thoughts as him, I guess. I really do want my gallery to focus on the core photographic values, but the fact of the matter is I'd be lying if I said the blocky, blurry, pixelized subject matter doesn't distract me. The great thing is, with GT5's Photomode, I'll be able to focus on exactly the kind of things I do in real life with my SLR, and I'm really very excited about the fact Photoshop will play less of a role in the Galleries in a few months. We'll get to see people cultivate their own personal style, just like some of the best did here in the heydays. It's pretty exciting.
With GT5 only four months away, I figured this needed something good and final. I'm going to go through the thread at another time and update all the dead links; the PSP background / GTP avatar post was lost with a domain name change of a friends' space, and I've never fixed it. There are a handful of old collections that won't be returning; they don't seem to be anywhere on my PC. Luckily they're not anything too major.
I've not been pleased with the news of "Standard" cars in GT5. But the positive is this; all the plans that I still have written down for this gallery can definitely be pursued come November 2nd. So I guess that's a plus to getting last-gen cars!
So anyways, I felt the perfect closing image for this would be the very first car/location combo we all saw when we first loaded up GT4, all those years ago. Yes, it's a far from perfect cleanup job, but I feel like the important mood is still conveyed. Thanks for making this portion of GTP so much fun!
I'll be around, and I've already got something planned for whenever we get a new, GT5-specific Photo Galleries forum. See you all on the track
