how many entries have been put off the polls having competed with those entries ? 👍 very nice shots mate, it's always something that inspires me to do updates and do better each time. great work.

Did not already comment this?

What can I say, they are all superb again. Very inspiring as Adrian says, it's a pleasure to see them!

Update: So here is the last one. I saved it until the end because I think H2H (or Mnfr's, back in the day) was my most successful comp. I'm not really sure why, but it was. It was decided on back in the days of points that both runners-up in the individual polls would get 3rd place, so now you know what the bronzes are for this time around. Some of my favourite shots are here, but just so you guys know, this isn't the end; I've already got the next update sorted, but it will stay put for a few days so as not to detract from these. Enjoy!

J - I'm glad to see you back with updates! I only wish I could've made it into the third round eventually in the tourneys, heh.

Alex - Really? Funny, there are a bunch of your shots I get inspired from!

TVR - I seem to have found your weakness; the Z, the TVR/Ducati shot... hmmmm, ;).

Awesome again. You always know when a photo needs more black (31, 34) or more light (39), a warm (43) or a cold feeling (42), spectacular effects (44) or elegant details (27, 46, 52)... I love the lower half part of the panel, and the Stingray is one of my favorites.

Wow, sorry I haven't commented on any of these amazing updates Slip. I can see how much work you put into all these shot and the stylish and professional presentation of all of them.

Love your style, is is so varied yet you can see your style coming through. Great angles and compositions too which makes your shots some of, if not the best around here.

Really love what you do at Phototravel locations too, I love the Suzuki at the fish market. Also the Subaru fantastic. The BBS/Enkei is amazing, this is the first time I have seen it. Those rims look sweet on that car. The Hot/Cold was another one of my favourites.

Also love your Cobra shots, both in your Tournament entries and both amazing.

I could go on for ages because there are so many shots and they're all superb. I'm really glad you took the time to do this Slip and look forward to seeing more of your sweet shots. 👍

Alex - I think the Stingray, and that particular style of shot, have been one of my best times at GTP. It's all because of Franz though and his original Cobra shot done like that :). The lower half definitely is the stronger one, I will agree with you there!

J - Thanks buddy!

TW - The presentation just seemed like the only logical way to do things, though getting a good size for the thumbs was tedious. And of course, the perfectionist in me was annoyed that I changed to the (imo) better aspect ratio more recently for landscape shots. I'm glad you like the S7; it looks like these collections are a success, because I figured a lot of my old work hasn't been seen by a lot of people. I had a lot of fun with the Hot picture, too. And the Cobras, I remember telling you about it when I saw your comment! It's funny looking back too; one of my absolute favourites is the Road / Track shot, but I remember it didn't do too well in the polls. I guess it happens sometimes. But thanks for coming in and really taking a look  As for seeing more shots...

Update Info: So I'm going to wait until the end of the weekend, and then the gallery will have it's first new update in two months. It might end up in a comp right after, but I want it here first... I think it will go over well :D

Update: I've owned a model of this car for years, and I don't see it around here very often. I think Vanilla Sky may have influenced me, though I don't have access to either an old black Stang, or Ferrari. So this is good enough ;). Enjoy!

Superb shot Slip, love the colour. The sky looks great, the blur is also good but I find the blur on the right looks better than on the left. :dunce:
The car looks sweet, surprised I haven't taken any shots of it. Nice touch on the license plate too, very well done.

Not much more I can say, it's a sweet shot. Good to see something new from you. Bring more! 👍

Yep, superb shot like TW said. Great detail on the plate!!! Now that I remember, I don´t "remember" seeing that car in the game, is it really from GT4, or it came from outside??

The H2H photos are  Really impressive Slip, no more words necessary to describe your work over the past years on GTP!!

I think I remember seeing it in GT4, other than that you have produced yet another great update SlipZtrEm.

Hey, that looks great!
Like said before, the blur on the left side looks weird compared to the one on the right. Probably due to the wide angle you used. can't match both sides exactly right while blurring.
car's reflections look great, lights shinning on the pavement look good too, and the license plate is very well done, looks like it really belongs there.

Also, I'm extremely pissed with you. I just got myself a brand new PC with a 320GB HDD, and at the pace I'm saving your shots from the panels, I'll be out of space sooner than I anticipated... :)👍
It's hard to comment on them, there's so many classics, so many awesome, different and technically excellent shots, that it'd take me at least half an hour to scratch the surface.
Great job throughout all this time, Slipz!

very nice, love the license plate. Blur effect is sweet too, though the blur on the left is a little off from the right. That shot would make a sweet wallpaper though.

I agree. i looked at the photo for 10 minutes, and everything just seems so crisp and delightful. the colours, the background and everything just looks so crisp. the license plate detail i almost missed until i had a second look at the picture. great work mate.

Thanks for posting the competition entries. They are simply classic and inspirational. Sure they are beneficial to many of us here.
Your brand new Series1 works really well with NYC. So vivid and the new sky is fantastic. 👍

Update: Hello, strangers. It's been a long, long time. Every couple months, I've wanted to come back, usually after a late-night random browse session that has me getting all inspired looking at some of the work around here. Then I load up GT4... and get disappointed. It must be all the GT5 media these days, but I just can't get excited about spending hours in Photoshop anymore. I noticed one of my favourites, Moglet, has recently ended his gallery, and I share the same thoughts as him, I guess. I really do want my gallery to focus on the core photographic values, but the fact of the matter is I'd be lying if I said the blocky, blurry, pixelized subject matter doesn't distract me. The great thing is, with GT5's Photomode, I'll be able to focus on exactly the kind of things I do in real life with my SLR, and I'm really very excited about the fact Photoshop will play less of a role in the Galleries in a few months. We'll get to see people cultivate their own personal style, just like some of the best did here in the heydays. It's pretty exciting.

With GT5 only four months away, I figured this needed something good and final. I'm going to go through the thread at another time and update all the dead links; the PSP background / GTP avatar post was lost with a domain name change of a friends' space, and I've never fixed it. There are a handful of old collections that won't be returning; they don't seem to be anywhere on my PC. Luckily they're not anything too major.

I've not been pleased with the news of "Standard" cars in GT5. But the positive is this; all the plans that I still have written down for this gallery can definitely be pursued come November 2nd. So I guess that's a plus to getting last-gen cars!

So anyways, I felt the perfect closing image for this would be the very first car/location combo we all saw when we first loaded up GT4, all those years ago. Yes, it's a far from perfect cleanup job, but I feel like the important mood is still conveyed. Thanks for making this portion of GTP so much fun!

I'll be around, and I've already got something planned for whenever we get a new, GT5-specific Photo Galleries forum. See you all on the track :)

No Slipz, I thank you for such an awesome part of GTPlanet. To me you have been amongst GTP's greatest legends when it comes to GT4 Photomode. It would be fantastic if this kind of community between old comrades could continue in the GT5 era. I currently have no plans for a PS3, but incase GT5 is that good, I might as well get a PS3.

Holy crap that is an awesome picture. 👍 x infinity.

Ha ha, I feel you. Whenever I fire up GT4 I say to myself, "meh, whats the point".

Great to see you dropping by and deliver this great image.👍

See you at GT5 ;)

Nice to see you come back with a stunning shot of Ford GT 👍 I saw a few post of yours in GT5 section. Totally understand your pain with the standard cars. It makes me feel like photoshopping GT4 image all over again, but the bright side is we no longer need any blur work like the past.

Hope I will see you racing online in the future.

Thanks for all your support and inspiration over the years. 👍

I’m looking forward to everyone having a clean sheet of paper in a few months time. We can dream it all up again.

Thanks guys :)

Bram - :embarrassed: . Cheers, buddy. I hope everybody will be returning come GT5... and that means you too! I'm none too pleased with the Standard car thing, but we'll still all be able to meet up in races, with either them or the frankly stunning Premiums, so I expect we're going to see all sorts of wonderful things in the galleries.

DriftKing - Thanks!

Nick - Exactly! It's the sad thing for me about GT5; we're probably going to have to load up PS all over again for the Standards. The good thing is, it'll only be to fix textures on cars and shutlines, not the reflections, wheels, blur... etc etc ;).

Franz - Er... exactly! Again! The same thing I just said to Nick!

Jacoja - Nah, thank you . The blue Viper image will always be a favourite of mine. Like you said, the idea of a clean slate is what's getting me most excited. And... serious group shots, oddly enough. No more 6 cars max. I saw one of your videos while browsing around Youtube btw, and noticed we do the same thing in Prologue in regards to views; chase cam just works better when you're worried about hitting/getting hit 👍.

Everyone - Speaking of Prologue; I bought a PS3 two weeks ago, and the bundle came with GoW collection (Kratos is a badass)... and Prologue. I've been having fun with online, and I figured in preparation for GT5 proper, feel free to add me to your PSN friends list. The PSN ID is over to the left. See you guys on the track!

Post-Script - And just incase anybody is going to be browsing the thread, I am currently in the process of re-uploading to Imageshack every update that I still have in my files. There's a few during the "Nissan Week" near the beginning that have disappeared, but other than that, they will all be updated, and won't disappear like old Imageshack links, or worse... be replaced by an identically-named photo without my knowledge. Once GT5 is released, maybe this will be rebranded "Slipshots Standard"... Premium will be GT5 .

A brilliant finale Slipz! 👍

It is also nice to see you back again, because there are not to many of us left here, that where around at the start. 👍 I more or less fee like you do too. I'm full of enthusiasm when I fire up GT4, but once I get into photomode, the enthusiasm soon evaporates!

Thanks for all the great images over the years, I still remember the G'xer chop you did, it is one of my favourite pictures in this gallery. You also leave here with the reputation of being one of the finest! See you on the other side! 👍

I might have to sign my gallery off too... 💡

What can I say but... awesome! Really hoping everyone will be returning with GT5, I know I will.

Thanks for the inspiration over all these years, SlipZ!

Great ending, I still browse these sub-sections from time to time and remember when I used to be part of this community. It's sad to see GT4 ending off now, but it's served it's purpose. I'll echoe what Beerz said, I hope everyone returns but I can see the first few months of GT5's Photomode being crazy, it'll be hard to keep track of everyone amongst all the newer members.

I totally agree about the whole thing about spending hours working on a shot from GT4 to make it all clean and sharp etc, infact I spent more time on GT4 shots than I do on my proper photos! :scared:

But yeah, hope to see you on GT5! 👍
