3rd shot on the 1st row and 4th shot on the 2nd row would be my favorites from that update.

Have to say I love the Grand Valley Speedway, its a great place to drive (wonderful test track for tuning) and looks good in photos as well.

Good stuff.

Scaff

Wow! Nice update! 👍 The first and last in the last row are my favourites together with the one in the middle on the row above. Nice work and a lot of speed :D

Hmm this is a great set. 👍 I dont like the colors of the car... I think I already said sometime that my supposed to be NSX update was f'ed up, because of the bad colors, at least for photos. But you did a great job, you have very special angles in most of the pics, and you made good use of the enviroment. 👍

Perfect Balance - I'm glad you still thought it was good. The Castrol shots have grown on me this past week, I've got a much nicer feeling about them now :)

Fletch - While I'm still not happy with the changes PD made to the track itself, the surroundings have definitely improved over GT3. I noticed that mountain of land behind the car and decided it had to be shown off 👍

Greycap - You made me load up GT1 just to be reminded! Coincidence? See my above comment about the flow of the track; yes, the small changes they've made have really put a kink in an otherwise very smooth drive. As for the Garaiya, that was an option, as well as the other Autobacs car, the MR-S (my favourite JGTC car of GT3) :)

EKMatt - I figured you wouldn't complain at a bit of Mugen representation ;)

Franz - I didn't quite follow your suggestion, but believe me, it is stored in mind for a future shoot :). I did try the opposite direction, and it took a good while for me to get a bit... creative in getting the AI close together. Good thing the SL has more torque than it knows what to do with. I think I need a different car to really suit the Clubman suggestion, so I'll try to think of something ;).

Vonie - I figured you might like the first. What can I say, verts are addictive!

Diabolical - I really do love the third one, too, and it happened nearly by accident. I happened to slide a bit wide and saw the overhead light reflect off the body. I made sure to remember which lap it was so that I could capture it. Surprised I pulled it off in a vert too, since the reflections normally never show at the angle you want when you switch to vert :indiff:. As for the full-sizers, I think I may try it next "regular" update :)

JMX - Glad you stopped in man! And just as glad you liked the Bluebird!

Scaff - I don't know why I waited so long to get on Grand Valley proper. It definitely offers a lot of nice shot possibilities, so I will definitely be back there for more. Seemed a bit empty with only one car, I'll have to fix that next time...

M3_CSL - That very last shot is another accidental one. I was just fiddling around to see how far the camera could zoom out, and was surprised that the bridge still looked decent. It was a bit of a risk to have the car as such a minor part of the shot, but I thought it would make a great ending to the update :)

VR6 - It just seems right in white, doesn't it? Thanks man 👍

Sejtur - Thanks, I've really been trying to give every shot its own angle lately. Well, except with the panoramas, I'm kinda limited there, heh. Looking back at the NSX though, I can't believe I didn't notice that tire-smoke aside, 11 and 12 are near-identical!

(EDIT) The update is in the post below. I figured people wouldn't want to be linked to an update that has more text to scroll through than images :)

Silver Arrows @ El Capitan & Seoul

___________________________

Update: I know, it's been over a week... a few things have kept my GT time to just having enough time for the comps, so this has been a slow drip of an update. Anyways, this is the first portion of an update inspired by the Manufacturers Comp, using both the first SL and the latest iteration of it, 50 years on (the super-oxymoron SLR doesn't count). The second portion will be traditional pictures, since there were a few nice ones taken inbetween pano shots. I just wish panos were easier to organize nicely into a post ;). The '54 is having a nice leisurely drive against a pretty varied lineup, while the '04 was having to contest with a bit of traffic on its cruise around Seoul ;).

Update 2: The other 10 regular shots are up. Enjoy :)

Crap dude. Awesome pictures. I wish I could try something like that...But I gotta learn how to cut of 1/2 inch on pictures for a border at first...Great Update 👍

very nice pano dude 👍
only thing I can suggest is cleaning up those halftones
maybe using patch to redraw the door line
because panorama are usually big
its easiler for people to see the flaws

Very nicely done. 👍
I wish I could do panomaras like those...

The first and second shots of the first portion are my favourites and, although I can't pick a favourite out of the second portion, the idea was great and came out really well.

As franz said, it's a shame that there are many flaws visible, but obviously that's not your fault. 👍

EDIT:

Oh, and congratulations on your PMC victory.

Fletch - Thanks :)

EKMatt - Normally I get the image to the size I want, then create a new image that's 40 pixels taller and 40 pixels wider. I then just paste the image in and its nice and centered :)

Sejtur - I was shocked the 300SL doesn't come in a proper silver. That was White Gray, and I was tempted to use my Light Blue one and just desaturate the car, but it would've been too much work.

Franz - Perhaps when I have a bit more time, I'll revisit them and touch up a bit of the cruddy bits. The problem right now is that I'm at my girlfriend's place, not at home, and her computer is a fair bit slower than mine, which made me impatient, and her mouse isn't nearly as accurate. So when I get back to my place later on tonight I'll probably see what I can do :)

Vonie - The third 300SL pic is my favourite too, I'm glad you like it man 👍

Diabolical - Thanks! Provided you have a pano program, these are really easy to stitch together. They are time-consuming though. I had a really nice overhead one I wanted to use on the little bridge at the beggining of El Cappy, but for some reason the program wasn't liking one of the images. So I had to scrap it :ill:. As for the PMC victory, thanks! It was 13 weeks since I started, though I skipped weeks 25-28. Other than that first entry in the 24th week, I've been in the polls consistently, so I was really happy to finally win. Funny, since the Escort was the third car choice I made that week ;)

Update: Decided to get those last 10 pictures up as soon as possible so I can get working on some more fun updates. Finally am posting full-sizers in the thread, go take a look :)

Silver Arrows Update, Page 11

👍

The glow effect is very subtle 👍 love it :)
and the shots are so much cleaner than the panos
excellent work

Love the one with the Renault 5 in the foreground and the 300SL in the distance.

👍

(glad your converted to Grand Valley - 3rd lap replays have some great angles as well).

Regards

Scaff

Fletch - Thanks, I had a lot of fun with that car (and that grid) :)

Greycap - You're too kind. Thank you, very much :)

Franz - Thanks, though the glow is actually the same amount it is in all of my shots. Glad you enjoy it so much!

Vonie - That was my favourite of all the SL shots I took (roughly 25 non-pano shots), and other than a tiny bit of cleaning up of the front hoodline, nothing out of the ordinary was done. I was surprised it came out so clean 👍

Scaff - I wanted to do something different, and the small amount of ugly midtones in that one worked in its favour. I'll keep the Grand Valley info in mind for future use.

Kenny - Nice to see you around! And glad you're enjoying the new stuff :)

The next update won't be for a while, probably until slightly after Tuesday the 29th. Why's that?

Ontario CampusCup

I figured I'd stop putting off picking up a DFPro with this coming up, so I've spent today getting accustomed to it. Best lap time so far is a 1:16.905 with the DS2, and the DFPro time is a 1:19.076. So I've gotta keep at it. Who knew the game that kept me out of classes last year could be the one to pay for them next year?

Jaguar XJ220 @ Cote D'Azur

___________________________

Update: Again, it's been a while, but the CampusCup took up all my GT time. There was a request for an XJ220, and I've owned it in every game available, always with gold rims. Decided some Scooby wheels would look especially good on it. Took a chance and went to Monaco, where the car seems to fit in, but at the same time looks completely out of place. I'm not too happy with this, but I do love the car. Next update will be from my CampusCup practice sessions, so a WoodOne (and foes) @ Laguna, unless I find something else more interesting. I do have a slightly different multiple-car update planned, so maybe that'll come instead. Either way, it won't be over a week until the next update, like this time. Enjoy :)

You should be happy with it.The car looks surprisingly good with those wheels, and the wide variety of angles/effects look amazing. Don't be dissapointed with this!

Wow at this set man, that's really far above average for pics from monaco. But, for real, this car is superb with what colors you chose. SUPERB. It looks so sexy in that color, and the first shot surprises me everytime I see it, with it's unique angle of the jag. Let me tell ya: This update has got it all. With all I mean the angles and the unique atmosphere around the car. 👍

Wow, awesome. Great & different angles. The engine is so detailed in the first one, and the pool looks great.
The second and third rows of thumbs are both excellent.
Not a bad one among them.

Yay! Finally, some full-size shots. ;)

As you know, I recently took some shots at Monaco as well, and I can say that some of the angles you chose are pretty unique. Nice work.

To be honest, I hate the looks of that car, but the Impreza rims were a good choice and with that white paintwork, it kinda looks not-so-bad... :D

All the big ones look great and are amongst the best, but my favourites have to be that 4th and 7th thumb. Lovely. 👍

You made the pool look better than ever, too!

Identti - Thanks! I'm glad I've convinced people that other cars can look good with gold rims other than Scoobys ;). Although since the Subaru donated its wheels, that's probably why. This is the one reason I enjoy smaller updates as opposed to my huge STi one; there's no repeats in angles, every shot is different :).

Sejtur - :). The first shot was nearly by accident. I can't believe I didn't notice the engine until this game! I was a bit disappointed the subtle shading of the rear end, but the focus is definitely on that engine, so I don't mind too much. I'm glad you enjoyed man 👍

Vonie - I really wanted to make that first thumb into a full-size, since I love that part of the track. And while I'm happy with the pool in its shot, I'm not happy with the cartoony Armco and the thin bushes. But, I always find something that bothers me, no matter what, so ignore it ;).

Diabolical - That was my main focus at Monaco; taking shots that I don't see too often there. Actually, while I could think of your treks to the track, I couldn't think of a whole lot of other times I've seen cars there. It's a tough track, and a lot of photo-ops were thrown away because I figured they seemed to easy, too "already been there". The XJ220 really is colour-sensitive; I was tempted to really ape the Scooby and get a blue one, but I stuck to the nice white. That seventh thumb was a shot inspired by Es and another member from my home forum :)

Es - I thought about it, and I remembered that while full-size shots are nice to get people a better view of my favourites, that not everyone is blessed with high-speed. My solution? I have a regular-sized version of all the pictures, and then the slightly smaller-sized ones that are "full-sizers" in the thread. The newest update in the gallery will get the full-sizers, but once a new update is posted, I will convert older updates to the original format :)

The next update is coming either very early this morning (the 7th), or later on in the evening, potentially running into the 8th's morning). It's fun :)
