SMS says "what's coming in the first patch"

Funny isn't it, how one mans pleasure is another's pain!
Personally, I love f1 2010 and shift 2 ... I think both are showing a new dimension to racing games - they capture rare thing - atmosphere.
F1 2010, is the closest I've come to a real race weekend feel (in game).

let's hope future games capture this, and bring the best bits from other games too... Perhaps thats why I enjoy many racing games, they bring different things to the table... Look for the positives is my motto.

F1 2010 is a joke as all other Codemaster games I have it and it SUCKs and has nothing to do with real racing. No sense of high speed cars !

Wow really? F1 was great, as was the Toca and McCrae series even Grid ws bang on for an arcade racer.

I agree... McRae on the PS1 was the first racing game I really ever got into (largely due to replays) and the Toca series was an awesome counterpart to the GT/Forza method of racing in my book...

TOCA (or V8 Supercars as its called here) Is a sweet as game. It was challenging and it got the career progression bang on.

Yeah.. I loved ToCa.. Also that first BTCC game they did. Really challenging and all the great classic British racetracks were in there. 👍

Unofficial console patch list

Griff
Bugs fixed in PS3/360 DLC title update (even though this a PC patch update thread :) )

- Input processing, tweaked default wheel settings and fixed force muting problem. Addresses wheel lag/feel issues. (somewhat understated - a large code change to reduce latency is included improving both the input and wheel animation delay)
- Fix Upgrade / garage screen crash / hang.
- Fix Logitech FFB.
- Fix tech hang on vehicle selection if own loaner car and it's upgraded it past initial class.
- Fix occasional logic flaw for redeeming voucher codes.
- Fix restarting or quitting a race while slow motion is active in replay
- Improved validation of lap times, scores and speeds:
- Fix don't report unrealistic records to stat servers.
- Fix don't store unrealistic records to profile if playing online.
- Fix : Reset unrealistic stats stored in the profile after successful signin.
- Fix : All constants controlling record validation can be overridden from server-side config.
- Fix drift scores above 3600 not appearing in Records.
- Fix : Don't send lap times in game reports when playing drift (fixes issue with Nevada Circle Night track sharing leaderboard id with Asia Drag Strip)

(this is unofficial and there's probably a few things I missed - the PC patch obviously includes all these fixes)

The first couple of the McRaes (On PS1) was great but nowadays CM is just eycandy !

I have them all but never play them !

I don't know if they did anything with the patch but since playing it post patch I am smashing my times at Suzuka (one of my favorite tracks) with all my favorite cars.

Well can I have your copy? I'll pay shipping. I've played it and what with the race cars on a race track and all it did seem like racing to me.

Yes it seems and looks like racing but it doesn't FEEL like racing !

I thought F1 2010 was really good at capturing the feel of racing. It just felt like I was part of the team and the races were an 'event'. Room for further improvement sure, but much better than most.

Shift 2 is also good at this, but the races are less of an event as there is no qualifying and they are really short etc. There is still loads of personality to the game and the AI really want to beat me, so it's more fun.

GT5 feels less like racing, more like hotlapping with fast moving obstacles. They might be faster than me, they may not, but I never feel that they 'want' to win.

As for the patch, I haven't had much time to play yet (work, gym, girlfriend etc) so will reserve overall judgement.
