I definitely need nurb practice.

Could probably go down to 15min qualifier too

As far as 2 different classes I would think you would need at least 12 drivers, no?

All good @BradESPN 1st night bound to be hiccups. @DublDee ill run back marker too. We could use it to set divisions apart as well. D1/D2 guys gr.4 D2/D3 gr.3? Or just off pace pending if they are not snail.

No, i mean faster drivers in slower cars. Almost handicapping (pc?) Could still go for overall win as well as class win. Thoughts

I liked the start time where it was. Getting done at 10 for me I can manage. But I’m usually needing to be in bed by 8 central time. I took a slight nap prior to Tuesday’s race. Sunday is the same way. I’ll nap about 2 hours mid day so I can race. Going to bed at 10:45 and getting up at 3:30 is rough. The drive in is scary when I’m short on sleep.

Not a fan. Creates chaos.
Just a suggestion the cars get very spread out after the first ten minutes i feel this may allow for more competition for class and overall win creating that congestion. I feel we are all skilled enough drivers to handle it?

This is my view.
Let's assume we had division 1 and division 2. Faster drivers were in division 1.

The difference between a group 3/4 car is roughly 6 seconds per minute of circuit. The same is roughly true for gr2 and gr1.

For the most part, I doubt even the fastest division 1 driver could keep up with the slower division 2 driver.

My original thought about splitting up the divisions was twofold.
1, it allows division 2 drivers to have a race among themselves without feeling like they cannot be competitive if we're all in 1 class.
2, it creates a more realistic endurance race as lots of endurance racing is mixed class and managing traffic is an important skillset if you want to do well.

I understand your point. I am admittable to either way it goes. But over the course of 1.5 hrs anything can happen. Having the faster drivers in the slower cars gives them the opportunity to win class and try for overall placement. New drivers or "d2" might feel like they dont have a chance to be competitive if they were in the slower car may discourage them. I base this idea off old touring rules as the faster drivers wiuld get weight added everytime they took a podium.

I really don't think we should over-complicate this series. Can't we all race the same cars in the same division. Endurance races are all elements of racing combined into one, but the key elements are driver skill, driver ability to conserve fuel/tires and finally the most important, Strategy.
Let's give it some time at least, because in my opinion the right strategy can far outweigh driver skill or conservation of fuel/tires. Give us all a couple more weeks to work on our own strategies, and you might just be surprised how competitive some of might be at end of 90mins.

I agree with @DublDee. For now anyways just keep it simple and get the basic kinks worked out then maybe in 3-4 weeks revisit the duel class.

Just out of curiosity though, don't they let the faster cars go first in real life?

Any objections to this? And how does the 24H circuit sound since this is an endurance race after all.

@SAMHAIN85

Have you firmed on Nurb 24h?
What car are you wanting to use? (my suggestion would be something German, like the M6, or maybe M4?)

I want to start practicing for Tuesday as I'm going to need a lot of practice to devote Nurb 24h to memory.

Curious to know as well @SAMHAIN85. Also the multi class doesnt have to be immediate we can feel it out first. all i can do is suggest its @BradESPN decision at the end of the day. Looking to have a lobby up tonight and/or tomorrow to practice!

I think we're pretty much all in agreement that it's a good idea, just not something we're ready for quite yet.

The new Dragon Trail Gardens track looks absolutely wonderful - if we don't race it this week I would love to race it next week!
Seems like itd be a good enduro track wide and smooth.

I know if/when i choose the combo what ill be going with(not this track) i might test it tonight.

Gt3 Merc @ Monza.
(I wonder if we should limit by car or just class?)

Definitely car.

I think that an inverted starting grid would be a good idea to get the racing a little better. Also a smaller track would keep the cars a lot closer

Yeah im good with one car. Just shooting out ideas for fun.

I think if we dont do the 30 minute qually the inverted grid wont be bad(be quite interesting with multiclass). I would hate to grind 30 minutes though to get my best lap having it just drop me further back in the grid.

Maybe if Brad gets some points going or something there is a multiplier...... or added points.

Does anyone know how to remove/change the poll at the top of the thread?

FYI, since it's apparently impossible to remove the poll at the top (or to swap it with a new poll), I've removed the deadline and made it possible to change your votes. As everyone's schedule changes (and we get new members), this may turn into a good indicator that we need to switch our racing night.
