being Accepted
Welcome to the return of SNAIL's Michelin Pilot Challenge using select modified versions of the in-game Gr4 race cars. All selected cars have been upfitted with either a Supercharger or Turbocharger and a power restrictor to get these cars to the 650.00pp base regulation with room to adjust up or down as needed. No other upgrades will be necessary or allowed.
A list of required tuning modifications and livery requirements have been made available and can be found in Section 3 of this post.
Race Events will be once a month on Friday nights, 9pm est.
Start upfitting these cars as required and start testing to make your selection prior to signing up. Once you have selected your car, and if interested in joining, please post here in the thread.
To Sign Up,
Due to the inconsistent and unstable nature of open lobbies with cross platform use, this series will give preference towards PS5 users. PS4 Users will be allowed to sign up and must be approved for network stability to compete, but will only be accepted in a Reserve Driver role. Drivers who sign up outside of the North American region will also have their connection stability assessed among the remainder of the attending roster during test and practice sessions leading up to the season's start. At any time if room stability is compromised, that driver(s) will be asked to leave the event, or possibly the series if the issues cannot be resolved. I am determined to continue our run of piloting stable and smooth running series on this GT7 title. All cooperation will be appreciated. Please have a glance through the first post, and if interested sign up as follows:
1.) Please Copy/Paste the template below and post in this thread with your information:
PSN ID:
GTPlanet ID:
Car:
Car Number:
PS5 Platform: answer "yes" or "no"
2.) Outfit your car with the upgrades noted in Section 3.1
3.) Run the Time Trial noted in the "Time Trial Instructions" tab noted below
Time Trial Instructions:
Any drivers that do not submit a TT before the start of the season, will default at the base 650.00pp for event #1. Lap times will then be used to assess for an adjustment for the next event.
Also, if a driver that has not run the TT posts a fast lap more than 1 second faster than the next fastest lap posted in the same race, that driver will be assessed a 15 point penalty for that race. (This would apply to the second race as well if a break out occurs due to no TT data). Please get your TT done and submit to my PSN ID: NOVA-0479 before the start of the season or a driver's first race of participation
1.) Upgrade your Car as noted in Tab 3.1 of the 1st Post.
2.) Tune your car to your liking, use an offered tune noted or a tune from the provided link in Tab 3.3 of the 1st Post, or feel free to run the car in it's default tune.
3.) Open an Online Lobby using the Lobby settings noted in the Pictures below.
Please be sure all settings are correct and exactly as shown.
(Some settings, if set wrong, can create skewed results.)
Track: Lago Maggiore GP
Conditions: Afternoon, SO1
4.) Run approximately 10-15 laps or until consistency is established. Screenshot your lap history along with your timing display box showing fastest lap and optimal lap and a screenshot of your spec sheet used for the TT. Then send those to me via psn message (NOVA-0479). I will review the data, and if changes to your PP regulation is needed, I will return an adjusted PP regulation for you to retest. Run time trial again and re-submit updated data as noted above. Drivers that fall in the median 0.7 second window of each other will establish the average pace and will make up the median pace window. They will not be required to test further. Any outliers, hi or low, will be adjusted and will require additional time trial data to establish better parity. Please make your best efforts to give the time trial your best attempt but most consistent attempt. This will ensure we get the best parity to start the season that we can. Feel free to start running now.

RACE NIGHT ANNOUNCEMENT
16 player Party Chat Policy
The Party Chat feature will opened after the Race Room with the following Rules:
1.) It is required that drivers enter the Open party chat to help in the flow of communication to start the night and communicate Caution requests/issuing and directives during the Caution.
2.) Open Conversation is allowed at the opening of the Race Room to the official start of Qualifying, approximately 9:15pm est. ALL MICs MUST BE MUTED AT THIS TIME, thru Qualifying, and Race (Host will remind all drivers to please mute mics before the call to start qualifying)
3.) During the race, Drivers may only come on the mic to verbally request a Caution/Yellow Flag, and for the Caution to be issued by the Race Director and directives related to the Caution.
4.) Once the race finish countdown is complete, drivers may resume un-muted conversation up to the call to mute mics before the next race.
Be reminded that no discussions regarding on track incidents are to be discussed, except obviously, if it is simply an apology and no more. Please review the penalty guidelines for more detail on this policy.

Please don't be that guy who has their mic on the whole race (If your headphones do not have a mute feature, simply leave the party chat before the Qualifying Session begins**
Hopefully this will add to the overall quality of these Events.

PS4 driver entries are being accepted for the series, but only in a Reserve driver role. All PS4 driver entries will be placed on a dedicated PS4 driver roster/pool. These drivers may confirm their availability at anytime after a most recent event. This only establishes priority among the other PS4 drivers in the Reserve pool.
PS5 Drivers will continue to maintain confirmation and grid priority up to the Thursday before a race night at 5pm est. At that time, if the grid is not full from PS5 driver confirmations (from the entire PS5 roster), the open grid spots will be offered to the PS4 driver roster with spots filled in the order that PS4 Reserve drivers confirmed available.
(PS5 drivers that confirmed outside the first 16 and are considered "PS5 Reserves" will still maintain priority to bump onto the grid. Once ALL confirmed PS5 players are exhausted, any remaining open grid spots will then offered to the PS4 driver pool.)
PS4 Reserves should be prepared and keep a look out after the 5pm est, Thursday cutoff, as invites will be in the order of confirmations of availability.
As is the case with the PS5 roster, all drivers should be on a hard wired connection and clear their cache before room entry. Any noticeable lag, jittering, screeching will be assessed during the warm up session. If excessive issues are noticed by a number of drivers, and cannot be resolved before the start of qualifying, that driver will be asked to leave if Reserve drivers (PS5 or PS4) are online and ready to race. A psn message invite will be sent for the available reserve(s) to enter the race room.
All PS4 entries will be assessed for network stability and must be approved before final acceptance onto the PS4 reserve roster.
Please coordinate a time with NOVA-0479 or join a lobby with our other series drivers, and run a few races. If I am in the room on a coordinated time, I will review, real time, and take a replay to verify stability. If you are in a room with other drivers and I am not present, please ask one of those drivers to capture and share a replay of at least one of the testing/practice races and to message me with a search tag for review.
If the inclusion of PS4 Reserve drivers proves successful in this capacity, I will consider opening entries to all (PS5 and PS4) drivers for our next series.
PS4 drivers are to follow all sign up instructions and processes as a normal driver.

Any drivers who are confirmed to attend, and fail to appear, will automatically default to a Reserve for their next confirmed event.
Exceptions:
(If you disconnect during a race, please return to the room and wait out the remainder of that race. This will satisfy the above participation policy.)
[Life does dish out Emergency situations. If this occurs, please exit the race and post the message: "Emergency Exit Needed" before leaving the room.]
Please remember that a grid spot was held for you to race when you confirmed attendance which placed other drivers on the waiting list. Let's be sure that the grid spots we are holding are being used up for the night.
Thanks Fellas.
Driver "Race Night" confirmation policy
-A Confirmation Reminder Post with ALL drivers tagged will be posted in the main thread as well as a PSN conversation by the Friday of the week before a scheduled Race night
All Drivers, may "Early" confirm their attendance or availability at any time after the most recent Event to establish their priority and grid spot for the next event.
-All drivers tagged are asked to confirm that they "will" or "will not" be racing by 5pm est Thursday (day before race night) to guarantee the scheduled race.
-A minimum of 10 drivers confirmed to attend will be required to guarantee the race night.
(if minimum is not reached, event will be postponed 1 week. If minimum is still not established for the make up date, the event will be cancelled and we will move onto the next venue)
Race Night Participation Policy
Any drivers that confirm their attendance for Race night are holding a grid spot and committing to a full night of racing. For this series format to function the way it was intended, participation to the end of race night is extremely important. Therefore, any driver who leaves prior to the conclusion of race night will receive points only for the race completed, and a -5 Point penalty will be assessed against that driver's season standing.
-If unable to attend due to a change of circumstances or plans, please notify me as soon as reasonably possible if you are unable to make the event.

4.) Caution Procedures
Yellow Flag/Cautions Process
Since this series will be a (2) 30 minute race format, we will be instituting a "Called Caution/Yellow Flag" feature to regroup the field in the event of an incident. (1 Caution available for each Race)
The following processes and rules will apply:
1.) ALL Drivers must enter and remain in the 16 driver party chat whether they have a Mic or not. (Chat audio will come through your monitor/tv for those without a headset.)
2.) Mics must be muted at all times, Except:
a.) When a driver verbally requests a caution/yellow flag, or
b.) When the Host/Race Director grants and calls the "Full Course Caution", or directions during Caution (Green this lap, etc)
NO OTHER VERBAL CONVERSATION IS ALLOWED DURING THE RACE
3.) Drivers should continue racing until the Host/Race Director verbally calls out:
"Full Course Caution"
4.) Single Car accidents or "off-tracks" are not permitted to request a Caution at any time. (This can be cause for distraction and will be met with a penalty assessed post race)
5.) At least (2) Drivers of any size incident must request a Caution for it to be issued.
6.) ALL drivers must slow to 65-70 mph, single file, and avoid any contact with other cars.
7.) A maximum of (1) Cautions/Yellow Flags per Race will be afforded. (If there are incidents after a caution was granted, we will stay Green Flag.)
8.) NO PIT STOP. This is a regrouping caution only.
9.) The Caution period will be the remainder of the lap if the incident occurs early in the lap and the field can be quickly re-grouped, or one additional lap if necessary. Race Director will decide and instruct when the field is to return to Green, or whether an additional lap is necessary.
10.) NO Cautions will be granted for any incidents that occur in the final 2 laps of any race.
11.) Cautions called and Granted in the Opening 2 laps will be issued, leaving none left for the remainder of the race. In this situation, the incident will automatically initiate a review with penalties being issued to the driver(s) that created the incident.
PLEASE TAKE CAUTION IN THE OPENING LAPS AND AVOID INCIDENT IN ANY WAY POSSIBLE
How to Call for a Caution:
(At least (2) Drivers of any size incident must request a Caution for it to be issued.)
1.) Verbally over Mic, say: "Caution Requested, by (your name)"
OR:
if No Mic, text in the chat box: "cr" or "Caution"
(If no response from the Host/Race Director within 10 seconds, request again)
2.) Host/Race Director will respond:
"Full Course Caution" when acknowledged.
(Drivers should continue to race until the Caution is acknowledged and issued)
Play by Play Process during a "Full Course Caution"
Once "Full Course Caution" is called:
1.) The Overall race leader becomes our pace car and is to gently slow to 65-70 mph, with all drivers catching up and slowing to the 65-70 mph pace speed, single file and in the position they were in when the Caution was issued
2.) Overall Race Leader is to pace the field for the remainder of the lap when the Caution was issued and/or 1 complete lap if necessary.
3.) All drivers are expected to be grouped up before the final corner. If not grouped prior to final corner, the Race Director will instruct an additional Caution Lap.
4.) Once the field is grouped up and the Race Director is satisfied, he will announce "Track going green on my Call"
5.) All drivers are to maintain position and pace speed until the Race Director calls " Green flag, go, go, go"
6.) The Race Director will call the start at any point from the exit of the final corner up to the finish line for long straight away start/finish lines, or on the longest straight following the start/finish line.
7.) Drivers are not to try and jump the start. Any Driver that causes contact or overlaps the car in front of them in any way prior to the green flag being called will recieve a 5 point penalty assessed to their overall point total for the night. Wait for the Green flag call.
8.) Drivers may begin racing as soon as "Green Flag" is stated by the Race Director.

Driver Win Record
Acknowledgments
Acknowledgments
Alright fellas,
This idea was sprung from @Chris Kelley and I was totally onboard with the idea. We will be acknowledging single race wins, overall event wins, and Championship with decaling on our cars. See the notes below:
All decals will be applied on the driver side quarter window, or if no room, on the rear glass down the drivers side next to the C-pillar.
Each single race win will be acknowledged by applying a Checkered flag. If a driver wins both races, he will apply 2 of these checkered flags, facing opposite directions with the posts crossing each other.
For an overall event win, the driver will apply a track map silhouette in white below the right facing flag. (If 2 flags are present, facing opposite, the track decal will be placed below the flag on the right)
Simply search the track name.
For the overall Championship, I will be rendering a Championship tag to be placed on your car, and whatever car being chosen for later seasons.
Drivers will be tagged and noted as to what to add after each event in the post race and scoring report after final scoring is completed and posted.
I will keep the driver profile page and Spotters Guide up to date with
the earned award tags. This will be a fun way to note and display a driver's accolades throughout the season.
Driver Standings Recognition
Drivers will be encouraged, not required, to display their current driver standing going into each event after Event #1, though there will be a few rules and requirements.Driver who are interested in diplayed their current standing, should collect the following green digital numbers 0-9.
After scoring is finalized and Post Race report issued, drivers will be cleared to edit their driver standing on their number board along with any award tags. Drivers should apply their Standing on both side's boards and be sure their number is in line with their actual standing in the Championship.
Should look like this:
Rules and requirements:
To maintain accuracy and integrity to this recognition, drivers who choose to add their standing to their car will be required to submit an updated profile picture before each event with their scrutineering tuning sheet. Submissions will be reviewed post event just as I do for the driver regulations.
If a driver forgets to submit the car picture with a standing displayed or has the wrong standing placement displayed , it will result in a 5 point penalty against the overall event score. This has to be in place to ensure that those who want to display their standing, maintains the attention and accuracy for it to be credible.
If choosing to display, be sure your edited livery is correct, accurate, and saved prior to each event. If unsure or not interested in displaying your standing, simply leave it blank or just apply double zeros.
The profile pictures will not be used for the Driver profile page, only for scrutineering to maintain the integrity of this recognition.
Again, this is optional, but if done correctly, it will be a great way to know who is where in the standings as the season unfolds.
