Drivers Meeting

Grid Business
Good afternoon to all the drivers who will be attending tonight's 6th event at Mount Panorama. I am back in the saddle and will be on the grid and hosting for tonight. We are currently sitting at 12 drivers confirmed for tonight's races, so there are 4 open grid spots remaining for those available and interested in racing. Please confirm or notify your intent to race here in the thread or pm me via psn. At the moment, all confirmed drivers are noted as attending, and have until 9:10pm est (5 minutes prior to Start of Qualifying) to secure their spot.

We do have 4 open grid spots available. Any last minute drivers that confirm their status to race, please be sure to submit their spec sheets via psn between 9:00pm-9:10pm est (submission window for all drivers) to my psn: NOVA-0479. A primary party chat will be open for our 16 drivers on grid. If anyone is not present by 9:10pm est, I will PSN message the available Reserves. If a prioritized Reserve is not online, the next Reserve driver will be offered the spot if available and ready to enter room.

Reminder to all drivers:
All confirmed drivers are holding 1 of 16 grid spots. Please notify me as soon as reasonably possible if you are unable to make the event. The latest acceptable notice without any recourse is 9:10pm est. Any drivers who are confirmed to attend, and fails to appear, will be placed on automatic Reserve for their next confirmed event.

Drivers Briefing
A few reminders for Mount Panorama:
1.) Be mindful in the opening laps. Be patient, and avoid contact/incident at all cost. Incidents that result in an issued caution, in the opening 2 laps, will come under automatic review for any possible infractions and penalized as necessary. Please be patient, brake earlier, and respect your opponent driver's space/line..they are not brakes or guard rails.
2.) Know when you have lost the position when approaching these sections, and be considerate enough to back out to avoid the risk of incidents. This series will continue to induce some very close quarters racing, and one slow up, or mistake could result in yourself, both, or many drivers losing position....don't be that guy. If both drivers are dead on, side by side, proceed with caution, and hold your lines. Just be warned that attempting to go side by side in these sections cleanly will slow both of you down and almost guarantee a loss of position(s) from other attacking drivers. BE CAREFUL and AVOID CONTACT ;)
3.) See this Event Details Link, and review for driver specs, race details, and allowable track boundaries for Daytona.

Final Reminders:
-Please be sure that everyone is on a wired connection to their PS5 (in any way possible)
-Clear cache before entering the race room
Lets try to do the best we can to reduce the jitters within the lobby.
Any drivers that are noted or noticed to create continuous issues will be asked to retire for the event.

Good Luck to all drivers, and see everyone at 9pm est tonight.

I had a blast yesterday even on a track that I'm really not fond of. Great racing with @MrDonovan you were keeping the pressure on for the first race and unfortunately I spun out. Never more than 2 seconds behind with a 5 pp deficit. I'm looking forward to race with you again ! @Bologna_Duc It was nice racing with you again, that M3 is crazy fast on the straights.

Unfortunately, I won't be able to attend the next race but I will be back for the final in November. Huge thanks to Nova for setting this series up, I can't imagine the amount of work needed to build a field of cars that are closely matched. I must say the livery requirements really add to the immersion and I will absolutely be coming back for more !

Had to cool down a bit after last night before posting. Car was trash and it took everything in me with an uncomfortable sim rig to keep it on the track. Hence why I just let people go by that caught me. Was not in the mood to battle.

Apologies to @MrDonovan I think (red/white BMW) from race 2 in the last corner, you were jumping around for me which made a light tap (for me) seem much worse than it should have been. I didn't expect you to slow that much.

I have been there. You get a new rig. Things don’t jive. But they will. Use what I put on the thread and get it right. Then leave it alone. Your mind and body have to reprogram. It’ll take time, but it will be worth it. Whatever you do don’t go back and forth between the two. You’ll only prolong the process. Move forward and don’t look back.
If I had known you changed rigs that close to a race I would’ve advised you to stop and wait until after that round. Then by Blue Moon your muscle memory and mind would’ve adjusted.
It’s not the car trust me. It’s your body. Just keep at it. It will come. If you need any help, contact me. Tell what is causing you discomfort and I’ll help you get it right.

Despite the change and the off and discouraging round, you still managed a respectable finish that still has you plenty in the championship fight. Hang in there....its gonna get interesting to the finish.

No worries at all @CodeRedR51 - I’d had a messy lap & after going onto the grass my tyres were dirty.
I tried to stay tight but the car just wouldn’t turn & I ended up in front of you. Ping made the light contact more than it was 👍 I came so close to murdering @Fudman420 on the rejoin, sorry about that mate.

@Worst_Driver Great racing with you. Did everything to stay close in race 1, was just starting to accept P2 when you went into the wall - and suddenly I had a huge lead a no company.

Race 2, I had a good start and was dismayed to see you on my bumper after the caution. I made a few errors trying to break away. Great fun racing, I was stoked to drive back to 4th.

@llNovall I was so surprised to catch you & KG on the last lap, can’t believe you got back past me after I blasted down the final straight.
I considered the final corner lunge, but the BMW doesn’t stop well and I really didn’t want to murder you. Again.

Confirming for October 👌🐬

Found a few more tenths good enough to get my optimal into the 11's, but the car doesn't like running at that speed for too long or it overheats the rear tires and gets very loose. Race pace still mid 12's I think. Threw about 20 tunes at it, all seem to give no additional pace. 🤷‍♂️

That thing is starting to get choked off. The Camaro did us that way. Once we hit the low 630’s. You have more torque than HP I bet. That’s what happens with supercharged and turbo cars. I honestly think next go round with this class we could use a bump to 650pp. Just to keep that minimal. I don’t know that all cars will fit the build at 650 tho.

I prefer ECU based power reduction versus using the power restrictor because it lowers power & torque across the whole power band, while the restrictor seems to increase low end torque as you reduce power. Makes the car squirmy.

Post Race Report and Scoring
Event #6 at Mount Panorama

Had a great time getting back in the seat and on track with everyone. Had an up and down race in Race 1. Pressed up into the field and was challenging War before biting it from a dipped tire onto the grass. Gathered it back up and found myself in a challenge with Raul before blowing the braking zone and losing a few spots. Ended up in a tussle with Phlano until we had a little door to door on the mountain. Worked my way back up a bit, just Wasn't pretty, but a challenging run to secure 7th in R1. Race 2 was a little better for me....just consistent laps, steady pressure, and a bit of luck landed a 3rd place in R1. Overall, a very fun night of racing at the Mountain. Please feel free to share any battles that you may have had for this event.

Minimal lag/jittering was present across the field, and was overall very predictable.

Now for Scoring:
Congratulations to MrDonovan / @MrDonovan (#27)
on the Overall Win on the night (at his home track)...Well Done

Also, Congratulations to our Top 3 Overall:
1st: MrDonovan / @MrDonovan (#27)
2nd: GTP_Worstdriver / @Worst_Driver (#13)
3rd: Rauljimenez76 / @Noob01_lmdead (#12)

Race 1 and 2 Replay Broadcasts
To be posted once broadcasted
Time has not been at a premium for me lately. If there is anyone who is interested in broadcasting some "outside the car" full replay broadcasts to Youtube, it would be greatly welcomed and appreciated. Both races can be batched into the same broadcast. Please tag me and post if interested. We need broadcasts of the last 3 events, Daytona, Trial Mountain, and Mount Panorama. I may be able to catch up on Mount Panorama, but the other 2 will definately require help.
For those interested, I usually stick to the following:
-remove the driver name tags (above cars)
-set to see only lap and timing data (not car data)
-start replay viewing a front running car and scroll back to around 4-5th place after the first corner or 2.
-from there, scroll thru the field using the track map for batches of arrows close together
-try to catch as many battles and passes as possible
-stay focused on a good battle until it breaks, or scroll thru as a field check and then come back to it asap.
-Run to the finish of each race, and no jump forwards.

Give it a try...wish I had the time to myself.

Keep 2 wheels on or within the white line where curbing is not present, or on the curbs where they are present at all times, except where it is specifically noted otherwise. The white line and curbing is considered legal track surface. Failure to comply to track boundaries could result in penalties if infractions are witnessed and reported.

And so starts my slide down the points ladder. 😅

If someone took the regulations from this series, tweaked them slightly, and applied a European GT4 label to it. That would be amazing. ;)
