The two FD teams just know that rotaries are good cars. However, after seeing a Nissan Silvia S15 at 1100 kg yesterday, I'm wondering why no one used it. :(

We originally tested on the S15 and the RX-8. The RX-8 was 1.5 to 2 seconds faster around Trial Mountain. The S15 just wasn't as tight.

We were, reluctantly, going with the RX-8 until Dabney (?) found the Z33. In testing, we weren't faster than the RX-8, but we were as fast, and that was good enough.

I was wondering about the TVR V8S....1050kg stock so within the 50kg ballast limit. But I suppose it's not as fast since it's a '91.

Just got to run some practice at HSR. I'm guessing the race will be 32 laps. Eeep!

Can't wait to do this! Hopefully I can swindle my lady into letting me put the AC unit in my office for the night. It is supposed to be brutal over the next couple days. :grumpy:

The next house I buy will most definitely have been built after WWI.

Finish prepping those cars boys, cuz tomorrow we're Racing!!
I hope Team Shelby can hold it together this time around to finish both races with out running into electrical problems.

How many square feet is that office? You can probably get something for $100 that'll keep that room cool.

It's not the cost of an AC unit that prevents me from doing so. It's the fact that the house was built in 1906 and still uses knob & tube with the exception of 3 newish circuits on the second and first floor. Only one AC unit can be powered on on the 3rd floor, which shares a circuit with half the master bedroom, my son's room and the hallway lights on the second floor, and half the dining room on the 1st floor. I kid you not. I was talked out of re-wiring this place by 2 electricians unless I was going to completely remodel.

Four words; long ass extension cord.

I see your four words and raise you one: that won't go over well.

And when I say newish circuits, I mean new as in my parents age in relation to the age of this house...
LOL, my house is older than Fenway!

In a little bit I can go online for some testing, who on my team can come? If I don't I'm probably asleep and won't be able to until 6:30

joe and I were just in his lounge. I may be able to stomach a few laps later tonight but I definitely need a tune update.

I will work on a fixed tune for HSR, pm me my team on any problems you are having

That's five. Good luck with the rest of summer. :dopey:

Last Sunday it was 107 here when we started racing. I have my setup in my garage/man cave. I have no a/c duct from the house to the garage. I have a ceiling fan, an exhaust fan, and a floor fan that I point at my seat. I crack the roll up garage door and open the back door to the laundry room to get some air flow and I go racing. The garage is fully insulated so it helps some.

It's still cooler than straping into a real car in full fire suit and helmet.

That defeats all of the fun!

I was hoping to practice tonight, and get a feeling for pit strategy, but... so many protests to review!!!!

Make time! I'll be in my lounge after nine.

Heat does not bother me. It's 70+ % humidity @ 10PM. And with an old house on 3rd floor it takes a lot longer for it to dissipate.

1906 house needs 1906 solutions. Large ice blocks in a tub. Like 100 lbs blocks. Better yet you could sit on it and after a while it will be a custom race seat, for a few minutes anyway. HELLO, RED TEAM, ARE YOU ALIVE?

I'm surviving this 40+ degree celsius weather; in a jacket. :) Who says that Canada's cold? Not my polar bear. He died of heat stroke.

I'm here, had a very busy weekend, had un-expected company from "out of country" this weekend and haven't been able to get on. I am hoping Bronco has a tune for us as I haven't run any laps with this car yet. :scared:

I am excited! I hope everyone can make it. Remember, please be considerate, and let's keep it clean. This will be 32 laps at a high speed track (and since it is a PD original track, it has no run-offs). If you bump someone, they fall out of the draft, and then they have a horrible time trying to make up that ground. This makes others ill. And then I have to review replays and assess penalties.

Don't make me assess penalties.

Please!

Hmm, do I gear my car to lead or draft?

That was a joke son.

Im hitting 162-163 without a draft, still have plenty of rpm left with the default trans setting (plenty for the draft if Im in it).
I don't know about the rest of you, but after about 4-5 laps that last corner is very hard to keep control and maintain any decent speed through it (114+).
See you all tonight

When other drivers on the road aren't mindful, you get nervous. And when you get nervous, you begin you drive irrationally. when you drive irrationally, accidents happen. When accidents happen, the other drivers get upset. When other drivers get upset, they begin to plan. When they begin to plan they get hungry. When drivers are hungry they need a sandwich. When a sandwich is needed they call Garris. When they call Garris they find he is busy assessing penalties. When angry drivers are hungry for a sandwich that can't be made by Garris, they form a mob. And when angry hungry mob race together they obsess. When an angry hungry mob obsess over still not being able to have a sandwich made by Garris, they make mistakes. When everyone is making mistakes, the outcome is bleak. And when the outcome is bleak, people resort to crazy means. When people resort to crazy means, they bring a monster truck to High Speed. Dont make me bring a monster truck to High Speed Ring.
