Why are the Blue Shelbys singled out lol. Bdubclub and dabney were just as fast i thought in race one. Also had a good run with Cheeb for a handful of laps.

The issue i see with holding someone up on purpose is, that might cause the driver your holding up (to allow your teammates to pull away) might try more aggressive moves to get around you then they normally would if you were running cleanly. I heard some one swearing at another driver because he was holding him up for 2 seconds a lap for 3 laps i believe. I don't think that's what we are trying to promote here.Holding some one up for a few corners is fine, if they are clearly much faster, but for several laps.....you would get the Blue flag if it was in the real world (which i know this isn't).
Im just trying to avoid having drivers pissed off at others or grudges held because someone becomes a known "blocker".

Unless the discussion was after I left, that was Vol talking about someone who had worn tires that he couldn't make a clean pass on which was forcing him off his pace by 3 seconds or so.

Only two points. :)

To clarify, I wasn't going too slow, just not pushing hard. And I wasn't blocking as in swerving, just taking a defensive line.

It only lasted for about half a lap. Mel was able to get by me.

And yes, I was the one playfully cursing Spooble. I was following him for three laps or so, and was a few seconds off my pace on each of those laps. I don't think he was holding me up, his tires were weak and that's how slow he was. And I simply couldn't get a clean pass on him.

Though sector one, I was much faster, but I hate trying to pass there. Then we would get to the back straight and his car would pull away, so on the corner at the end, where I was faster, I could just close up. And then I had to try to get by him before the final chicane, and I just couldn't manage it.

I thought it was brilliant, though. Yes, I would love to have gotten by him to chase down the driver in front of him, but this is racing. He wasn't being a jerk or anything.

I think a better analogy would be treating each teams fastest driver like a jammer in roller derby when the jammer passes the pivots and breaks away from the pack. Not the part where the jammer gets held back and pummeled by blockers...

esh

And there was a point in the first race where I was trying to chase down and pass Mel. I knew that my points in the race wouldn't be added to my team, but BeRandom was already behind me. If I could pass Mel, then I would, in effect, deny them a point.

And I was faster than Mel at that point in the race, but didn't have enough laps.

Unrelated: I've updated the third post with the same standings that can be found in the spreadsheet.

And if it helps, I'm publishing the spreadsheet as a web page, too.

Can you change the timer to reflect the start for next weeks races? Gotta get amped up and what better way then with the final countdown!

double post:

Double post? I must've missed the first one.

And already done.

I've got to say last night was an resounding success on all fronts. I got to participate in some great competition, some excellent teamwork and awesome sportsmanship.

👍 to everyone taking part, next Tuesday is going to be a rush :)

Big thanks to Vol and everyone that contributed to the ideas for putting this together, way cool.

P.S. one of my biggest pay offs last night was hearing the excitement in Vol's voice after the races, I was ear to ear.

Speaking of ear to ear, I just watched the replay of the second race. On lap 21 alone, Vol and I swapped positions no less than seven times!!

As Vol said last night, "that was intense!" :dopey:

To watch the replay you need to put it on ur ps3 right? If so can I get a quick run down how to? I missed the 1st race replay.

I sent this to Handlebar the other day.

Copy the folders to a USB drive. You have to make sure the folder structure is correct; PS3\SAVEDATA\ and put all of those BCUS98114-RPL00X folders in there. Then put the USB drive on your PS3, on the XMB go to "Game" and then "Saved Data Utility (PS3)". Then find your USB device and open it. It should show the replay files and you can see who saved it and when. Click options on one and hit "Copy" or "Copy Multiple" if you're importing more than one replay. Once that's all done, fire up GT5 and then go to the replay theatre and the second option up is "Import". Click it and it'll show you the file(s) you just copied over. Go through the prompts and then you can play them from the Replay theatre.

You've still got nothing on kcheeb and me from Race 2. :) I'm really thinking that our good tracks are yet to come, though, in the gray RX-7s.

I'm not good with GIMP. I exported this, and then closed it. So I have to start all over.

I need to try and cut out the backgrounds and then add driver and team information.

If I had lots of time, I'd find places to take pictures of the cars without the shadows on them.

The only one with pop-up headlights! Hooray for me!

 I disapprove. Most racing teams almost never change their colours. Just look at the Nissan Z cars.

And I could make that in Forza. Why the hell didn't PD include a livery editor, why?!?!:banghead::banghead::banghead:

Has anyone else tried to download and watch the replay? I got one saying it is corrupt. :(

I'm trying again, Vol....have 3 portable devices so it might have just been a wonky one *crosses fingers*

Edit: yep, race 2 seemingly works just fine. Maybe I did a dodgy unzip with the other one?

Not every week, just this week because we didn't get the colors finalized until right before the race.

I will be, its just one of our drivers was in black and the others were too dark of a green.

Am I able to change my rim color at this point? I forgot to to that before the first races. No biggie if I can't.

I didn't mind the black, with the neon green rims, but yes, feel free to get the colors settled.

Go for it. The spotters guide isn't official, I just thought it would be cool.

My only real goal with the colors is so we can easily see the other teams on the track. Part of that is easy in that we do have a team of RX-8s, a team of Z33s, and a team of Shelby Series Ones. The only teams we have that duplicate are the two FD teams.

Strangely, I partially did. I couldn't tell, from a distance, whether it was esh or BeRandom.

The two FD teams just know that rotaries are good cars. However, after seeing a Nissan Silvia S15 at 1100 kg yesterday, I'm wondering why no one used it. :(

The neon rims were my way of helping my teammates know each other.

EDIT: My team, feel free to PM me setup suggestions
