Thanks to everyone that showed up.
The
spreadsheet is updated. It may have errors, I haven't double checked. And there may be protests.
This course put a unique strain on the cars. And things will be completely different next week at Laguna Seca. I hope to see you all there.
I have no protests. I have no complaints, or anything of the sort.
I simply feel like I've made an idiot and a complete 🤬 of myself. I took out at least 6 cars. I don't care about the "unique strain on the cars" and I don't want to hear arguments. That crash was 99% likely my fault, (I don't know if I was helped, and I won't accuse anyone) but the car got sideways SO quick, I had no chance of saving it.
Without further complications or mistakes and failures on my part, I'd like to leave the series and allow you guys to have your fun. I'm not enjoying this series much, and after today, I plainly and simply feel like I'm wasting everyone's time.
My spin, whether I was tapped or not, was clearly a failure, on my part, to abide by the fourth rule of the GTP OLRs.
D:
You are expected to drive responsibly in a way thats not likely to ruin the racing enjoyment of your fellow drivers.
I'm sorry to everyone whom I took out in that crash. I didn't want to spin, I assure you, and I didn't want anyone to hit me once I had spun.
L:
No careless driving. Always show respect for your fellow racers. Be careful. Show some patience. Understand the limitations of your car and yourself and drive accordingly. Driving online in a racing sim is NOT exactly the same as real life racing in every respect.
This just further backs up my point. While the crash was an accident, I'm obviously not ready or capable to drive in this series, without ruining someone else's race.
The only GTP rules I followed today were these two:
K:
If a driver wants to retire from a race, the driver concerned must not exit the race. The driver must find a position on the track where the driver will not endanger other drivers, park their car by pressing "start" and wait for the race to end. Keep in mind that your car may start to move when the start button is pressed. Place your car on a position where this movement won't cause any problems for drivers who are still racing.
N:
When racing or entering GTPlanet's social or competitive race meetings, all drivers are expected to meet the Performance Point criteria. This means setting your car to the maximum PP in social events (unless stated otherwise), or setting your car to a specific PP in competitive events (unless stated otherwise).
To explain the main problem of the race:
B:
In case you brake too late for a corner or partially lose control of your car, but can prevent an accident by steering into the dirt, grass or a wall, you are expected to do so.
I tried to avoid spinning in front of someone, but the spin was so unexpected, in that corner, that I had completely lost control of the car, and hit a red RX-8.
If I had hit the RX-8 like that in a real race, the driver would most likely have been seriously injured... or worse...
Then, the RX-8 lost control and spun in front of Mopar, immediately causing an 8+ car crash.
Please accept my resignation from the series, without penalizing any of my teammates (DrKronin and BeRandom) to ensure that they find a third teammate to race with before Laguna Seca. I'm not able to run these cars in full control of my car, and continually ruined the races for other people today, and no longer feel welcome to drive around, while continually smashing and spinning.
As for recommendations, I sincerely recommend that the series do testing on High Speed Ring, with next season's specifications before hand, to see if this problem (at least 10 spins occurred) happens with next season's specs. As for my opinions of Jahgee, I'll respect him as a tuner, and a team owner (sort of) without respecting his choices in tracks.
