So, a black man can't be articulate?

This whole thing brings me to another question that I'm not quite sure if it deserves his own thread or not.

But would Obama even be mentioned in any serious political circles for president if he wasn't black? I'm think no. In fact, I think the only reason he IS getting any play is because he's black.

Uh oh, that's the same line of thinking that made me start this thread: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=82365&highlight=Racist

Really? I don't quite see it that way. What I'm saying is that the political powers at be are giving Obama, a freshman Senator, their backing just because he looks good in a suit and can talk a good game. I'm not saying he's a senator because he's black. But I am saying that if he wasn't black, he would be getting ZERO play for a bid at the white house.

...and if he were to be elected? Would he be president because he's black? Afterall he'd have gotten zero play if he weren't.

yep, he would. And that would be REALLY weak. He's just not ready for it. In any way. I'd rather see you or Duke be president before this guy. But the question is, did him being more or less African-American(check his heritage) get him into the senate. If that's the case, then the voters in Illinois, much like Maryland, need a serious wake up call.

Also, he WON'T be vice president. The reason is, some ignorant black guy will kill the president just to make the black guy THE president. I know it sounds kind of out there, but I really think that's exactly what will happen.

I think Obama is one of the most charismatic politicians in years. Thee fact that he is a Black candidate ...should in a perfect world be overlooked as insignificant .

I wont vote for him because he represents a view I am 100 percent opposed to and I find very little common ground .

But I respect him as a man and a great public speaker...and he may even be a good person ...who knows ?

But forget getting my vote .

Same for Hillary...I actually considered all her plus points and looked at her as an alternative of last resort....but then she went all John Kerry and lied and changed her statements to reflect polling...so she's out .

The Guy I like Warner wont run ..he's the one that came on after the state of the union speech . I kinda like him .

Dont fall into that trap...he has a long list of things and reasons he is so popular ...at the end is .." and by the way he's a black guy " ! We can use him to draw black voters back from the evil republicans ...who keep hiring all the good black people and putting them in charge of stuff...lol..

You know what creeps me out?

Black people who say Obama isn't "black enough" for them. WTF? Can you imagine the fuss if white people from red states started complaining McCain isn't "white enough" for them?

"I'm not voting for McCain. He's just not in touch with the White Agenda."

"I'm not voting for Clinton. She's not man enough for me, you know? She doesn't understand the "male experience".. what's it's like to live the life of a man."

Is it just me?

I wouldn't be the ranch on that statement at all... I think Hillary's plenty in touch with her masculine side!

[edit] Damn! I can't find a decent image of that cover from Spy magazine...
