So GT7 is now really on its way, when and what can we expect?

This seems a repeat of the debate over here, you might want to check it out to help you reach a decision. Either way it will cost you.

Not so much for me on the pc, I have a quad 2.85GHz with 16 gig of ram. All I need is an upgrade to the vid card (2-3 hundred) and I should be good to go đź‘Ť

What's interesting is the GT7 car list - I mean seriously interesting. I expect a lot of great new entries because what we currently have covers the "basics" of the 4 wheels. Since that is covered PD can now explore a little.

Obviously there will be new Ferraris, Lambos, city cars etc but considering PD adds 150-200 cars for GT7 that part is easily covered with a spare room for more.

What they do with this "more" is what I'm talking about. :dopey:

Also will they go with the "1400 cars" for marketing even though most of them won't be up to the standard or will they only advertise the amount of premiums ?

500-600 is not a small number.

When?
2016 -2017
PD can use their engine, but still needs to improve the assets and engine to take advantage of the ps4. Like PD has with every console. That will take time.

What?
I expect much better graphics, better physics, solid 60FPS all the time and an better update/DLC system. I have doubts about sound, career mode, AI, and wired decisions PD made in the past.
Hmm, so if GT physics are that bad, can we trust GT Academy winners that say they still play GT to practice racing?
I wouldn't trust them even if we ignore the potential agreements in the contract with Sony/Nissan, because those two companies made their dream come true and they would never criticise them harsh for that particilar reason in my opinion.

The tracks are very accurately recreated overall, in most games for that matter, and would still be good for practicing braking points, knowing the placement of curbs, lines on the track etc. The physics in GT may need work , but again they are "good enough" to build upon. Building up the mental memory by running dozens of laps should really cut down on the track learning time, especially for the GTA guys who are visiting all the tracks for the first time. So yeah, in the broadest sense I can see them using GT or any sim for practice.

Well, in any case, they have no excuse this time to take sound engineering/design lightly.

And the hardware should be capable of insane physics calculations (by PD standards).
They looked and hired people that know sound so i expect something special from GT7 in comparison to GT6 anyway and for real, and not just Kaz saying its to real.

Polyphony is probably not going to listen to me when i say this.
GT7 should use motion capture and include real characters in cutscenes, you should be able to create your own character and have a new mode in addition to the classic GT mode. This mode would be the closest to real life career simulation ever seen in a video game, after creating your character you will slowly climb the ladder like the GT Academy drivers in real life, winning or losing will change the next progress in the story.
This story would be different every time you play it as it would have some randomised elements added, after every small race you could read what the media is syaing about you, after every big race you could have a cutscenes and voice acting included, the small races could be randomised while the bigger races would have a limited amount due to the cutscenes being required.

Now here is the real deal, crashing the car will force you to use the pit, if you crash it really hard then it will activate a cutscenes where your car gets carried to the pits and is fixed as the timer is running.

You could be able to make multiple characters and keep re-playing the mode which will be quite lengthly as you will be playing the full seasons in GT3, F1 etc. depending on the result in the end you will get an exclusive price which will only be available for beating the mode as the legendary driver.

I wonder how seamless offline to online is going to be. Will there be a a spinning globe to click on which country or state or province or hemisphere to explore and join? Will there be a "free roam freeway" with exit ramps to specific rooms or seasonals? I have no idea. PD must show us something we haven't seen before. It's got to be clever( this time).

What your describing is an open world element. PD "Kaz" alluded to this in a subtle way when interviewed that he would like to recreate maybe a whole city or something. I don't remember which interview and whether it was Jordan that did the interview. I just remember this in the back of my mind. I think Kaz should make GT7 part open world and also part racing game.

Imagine if the game had a few square kilometers or more you could drive around in every country where each race track is based that is real that has been i most Gran Turismos thus far. So then you could in fact drive around the city or town and drive to the race track. That would be something new and unique. I'm interested in other peoples thoughts and ideas on how this could be achieved or done.

Open world racing is BIG in gaming right now especially on Next gen. T10 have chosen to make two different games, one to deal with closed track racing, race track simulation through a career mode which is what most racing or driving simulators have been based around - closed racing, and T10 have made one based around an open track tracing open world.

But GT7 could be the first game to blend these two different genres or game play styles and elements together rather than make two different games. It would be groundbreaking. It would be different from what everyone else has done and it would be setting the bar for something exciting and truly different.

You can still have a career mode based around a race driver while all this is happening. The driving around the city until you arrive at the race track can be separate to when you actually get to a certain track. And this certain track could be where the career mode starts and the first race. I'm not sure how where they would place or setup the whole tuning shop, paint shop, garage, licenses part of the game. They could be somewhere you can drive to.

When you consider how BIG the open world is in "The Crew" it's mind blowingly impressive. Considering it also has a story based plot. GT7 would have a story or career based around the driver adn they don't have to make it complicated and be based around the drivers whole personal life but the career, rewards, benefits, prizes, payout.

The race driver could also have a home where you can drive to. PD won't necessarily have to model a whole house or 3d. But similar to what you see in past gran turismo with photo modes and seeing your car outside your house. And going to garage would take you to a garage menu like we have in past Gran Turismos.

What I'm proposing is just ideas and I'm not sure if simulation racing can be combined with open road racing. It would probably be very difficult. It would be interesting to see the rest of the communities thoughts on my ideas here and what they think using their imagination. Share your thoughts.

Im fine with an open world GT only if it's a separate game-- like Forza horizon is to Forza. I think GT should stick to what it does best.

Yes sure I'm up for anything. 05XR8 just caused my imagination to wander. I don't at all think GT7 will be open world. I'm sure they will keep it to a "real driving simulator".

An open world game with DriveClub's driving model would be awesome too. I wouldn't be shocked if GT had a spinoff open world game. I'd buy it.

Well open world is fun for awhile, but only if done right like I played Need for Speed World at one point it was decent out of all Open World titles that I've played only Burnout Paradise I remember loving, and I realize it's not a simulation game, but it did make things fun.

There's room for every type of racing game. It gets messy when you start mashing them together though. In my Opinion of course:gtpflag:

Wow, GT a part open world part track racing game? That would be an incredible experience on a console, to say the least.

Especially if they don't focus so much on car count and graphics, and get to work on accurately replicating real-world physics, along with unique performance characteristics and nuances of each car, not to mention an audio experience to remember.

Upon reading the whole article is just a compilation of Kaz's interview over the last year and tales from my arse from the writer who clearly shows he has no idea what he's talking about. And PCars screenshot seals the deal.
