So GT7 is now really on its way, when and what can we expect?

Talking about GT7 really gets me, mainly because of "maybe 2015" and "standards are here to stay" from Kaz's mouth.
IT'S NOT COMING in 2015. No. Freaking. Way. GT3 was delayed how long? GT4 was delayed how long?? GT5 was delayed how long???? Even if GT7 is hi-res GT6 on a new console, I still think realistically holiday 2016 is when the game could feasibly launch. If I'm wrong, then yeah, that's actually awesome, but PDI's paymaster Sony would want to push DriveClub as hard as they can in 2015 with dlcs and what nots and me thinks having to plug GT7 at a similar time period would detract unfairly from Evolution Studio's game.
After a lot of flak from fans and gaming press for lackluster GT5's and GT6's overall quality it saddens me to see PDI sort of backed up against the wall. PDI won't have time, personnel, or budget to convert every PS2-era models to semi-Premium. Even Turn 10, with a workforce nearly three times that of PDI, needs to outsource a few of car modelling...and they still have to bring back many cars from FM4.
Standard cars are coming simply because PDI don't have much of a choice....having "1000+ cars!" and "1200+ cars!!" as their main marketing campaign push, now they can't go back to more modest numbers without getting bad perception from general, casual gaming public, and Sony brass.
I can already imagine trolls from both side of "console war" going ape**** on comment sections on various gaming/tech websites...at least that would be hilarious to watch from sidelines..
I think they will release it when they need the money and i hope it is 2015. That is why i hope GT6 really stops selling :)

What do you mean gt3 and gt4 were delayed? They have a 3 years gap from eachother, the normal time for gran turismo, gt5 was the one that was pushed back... Some people just talk gibberish -_-

I remember waaaaaaaaaaaay back when GT3 was touted as PS2 launch title; back then it was called Gran Turismo 2000. That didn't happen, obviously. It was released a year after console's launch. GT4 was delayed for a year and half. And GT5? Well you already know the story....

If they come 1 year later, that it's not being delayed, it's normal of game developers to push it back 1 year if they are not cod or FIFA, now GT5 was pushed back 5 years, but I don't remember any other GT being delayed more than one year... Besides, gt2000 wasn't really a full game in the first place, more of a showcase of the ps2 and an early apetizer of gt3, gt2 was basically gt2000 seeing as GT2 was launched in 1999 in Japan, but early 2000 in Europe as I recall

Forza 5 - GT6
Forza Horizon 2 - Drive Club
Project Cars - ?
So more GT7 details then?
And if there is Forza 6 then we see GT7 released. Can there be any connection between them or will project cars perhaps demolish that order.
Longshot :)

PD said that GT7 would be launched in 2015 or 2016. But I hope that PD can have all features, all cars and all tracks so we can be happy!

VBR
We can safely expect;

1) Mass hysteria as the release day approaches, & lots of vague PR statements that makes us think it's going to be 'FREAKIN AWESOME'!

2) Spectacular looking graphics, & over-hyped trailers inducing the masses to part with their cash.

2) Some truly bizarre "what were they thinking" game design.

3) The same tired gameplay that has been used in every GT game ever.

4) A lack of common sense options, because PD want us to play the game their way.

5) A half-baked bug filled mess that will be 'updated monthly' with 'free DLC'.

6) More Time Trials & boring Seasonals following the same worn out format.

7) A barrage of Fanboy vs Haters flame war threads on GT Planet.

Basically, the same thing we got with GT5 & GT6.

I'm pretty sure about 1,2,5 and 7.

Really we'll see more Cars it will be 1600 with 900 standards so now the count will be 700 premiums to 900 standards. I mean it's an improvement over GT6 with it's 300-400.

I haven't seen any news on PD increasing the number of staff working on the game, so the rate at which they create cars should be roughly the same as before - between GT5 and GT6 they've added around 150 premiums, so they make roughly 50 cars a year. 700 premiums for a GT that comes out before 2020 is unrealistic in my opinion.

Why would they add more standards to the game? :odd:

Becuase it's PD/Gran Turismo/Kaz THAT'S WHY!

Technically speaking since Standards will be in GT7 then GT5/GT6 Premiums become new Standards Eu*******reka I just found out how Kaz plans on implementing standards into GT7.💡

The premiums that are currently in GT6 are already detailed and have interiors so they will still be 'premiums'.

Standards, Premiums, Super Premiums.

Most likely, current Premiums will be at full power. I'm pretty confident that they scaled back the Premiums for PS3 so they can be used on other generations?

That's possible. I know that Naughty Dog did the same thing for The Last of Us and Remastered.

PD will probably use Photomode models of the premiums in GT6 for GT7 when transferring the cars from GT6 to GT7. For the standards, I hope that at least most of the standards will look as nice like the RUFs in GT6.

i'd be happy with just with a premium car and standard sounds tbh.
By the way, let's hope they don't rush things with gt7 and make it happen in 2016 because i think there's a lot of things that could be still done on GT6, and by delaying GT 7 maybe we'll get a far superior upgrade. (for example the differences dividing GT2 from GT4)

+ semi-premiums, premiums without interiors, premiums with standard sounds, premiums with premium sounds.

LMAO! This is exactly why I'm waiting on some legit views about Gran Turismo 7 this post is post of the year lol.

Edit:

@sparkytooth and @Pootis

Was just a joke although looking at Drive Club, and other games GT will have a lot to do at this point, so even though it was a joke I can see PS3 Premiums becoming new standards if Kaz lied, and I will be looking into that.

I know he mentioned the Photomode cars and what not, but at this point believe it when I see it.

Since most of the newest modelled cars are even perfectly round and smooth (RCZ, Megane Trophy Racecar, C7, Every VGT, Stratos, SRT Viper etc.). The older ones just need a bit more polygons, an engine compartment, usable doors (Which I don't discard, given how every body part is individually modelled) or whatever can open. Although I'm pretty sure cars moving forward into GT7 will most likely be modelled as the Gen 3 cars were, which is not a bad thing at all.

I can't believe that I'm already thinking about GT7, even though I'm not actually bored with GT7 yet. There's still stuff I want to do in the game, I just needed a bit of a break from it to play other stuff.

Anyway, I usually have my expectations low, but in the case of GT7; I think I'll state what I expect at the least and at the most.

Least: To be basically like GT6 with more overall content such as cars, customization features, tracks, & photomode locations. Of course, a new game soundtrack with possibly a few songs from the previous GTs. I would expect the physics to be better and have the same crummy damage model as GT6. The Career mode would still not be long enough and the sounds would be slightly better than in GT6 and they kept the standard cars after all, but didn't improve them.

Most: At the most, I would expect the Career mode to make a huge improvement, maybe they would take the GT3/4 Career mode and combine their styles together. PD will drop the standard cars in the main course of the game and maybe have them in a GT archive or something. There will be 500-600 cars with similar quality and a few of the older models improved. There will be a few of the old tracks remastered and some new courses added. The AI would be revamped again and the sounds could finally be good overall.

I think Contact by Daft Punk would be an amazing intro, wouldn't be hard to license since they are part of Columbia Records who are owned by Sony.

Sorry I posted this in the wrong thread, anyway to delete this?

Kaz latest "jedi" words are interresting. -"....By that I mean it’s going to be a game that matches the very era that we live in, in 2015 or 2016.”
Do i see this as a release date in 2015 + DLC/PATCH so game is really as it should 2016?
The era we live in is like this...release a "demo" and patch it up later.

Ok a bit tired now and dissapointed of games not released as completed.
