i tend to think that the ones who stopped playing probably wouldn't bother with these forums 💡

not sure this poll is really meaningfull

I stopped 'playing' Gt5 quite soon after buying the game.
It quickly turned into grinding events to collect cars, not much fun.
So while I technically played the game for months, I really only played (had fun with it)
for a couple of weeks.
In contrast to GT2 to 4, where I played those games for years and still boot them up from time to time .
To me Gt5 is like a late Joni Mitchell album, pale, old and tired when compared to her early work i.e. Blue. Kaz's passion's seem to have shifted to real world racing, so I don't hold out much hope for a return to form with GT6.

I still play every night and still love it!
Low PP, racing soft tires and SRF.
Only online - it never gets old.

Not really stopped playing as I still do my daily practice sessions and spend time on the various time trials but I do find myself spending more time on Forza and Forza Horizon.

Well in my case yes...sadly but after a long time i felt the need to go to other things...better things.

I am playing simulators on PC thanks to the GT series i have to say...and other games...also i stopped playing on my PS3 (i have more than 60 games) but lately the quality of the multi-platform games is not good enough for the price that they are delivering those games...on PC games costs less and performs and looks better...

Of course i have a gaming PC and to me this is not a transition is just the end of a cycle on my console...and this started almost like 2 years ago or so...now i only buy some exclusives for it and my game list on PC is growing more and more...

It took sometimes to see the bad thing of GT5 because overall the game is good and bad at the same time. It still has good things but i see other racing games evolving...changing and getting better talking about sounds and physics...and GT5 this time felt like something with great potential but unfinished.

But also it gave me 2 years of entertainment, i can´t say i didn´t enjoy it at all.

Still i bought every DLC till date and tried the new stuff hoping to recover that "passion" or dedication for this game...but no...i want something new, fresh and better...if PD won´t deliver, i am not sure what to do...this time i shall wait for reviews...to see if they did things that they should with GT5. (i am a Signature Edition owner by the way)

I recognize that i want to play time to time but i quit fast.

Still a fan...i play since the first game so...

I think all GT5 really needs is a HUGE DLC package to revitalize the game.

I'm talking new wing pack, new wheel pack, new paint pack, new aero, more suits, more wallpapers, more photo options, and a more original tracks. I'm sure there are lots of things PD could do that wouldn't require licsensing.

I'd happily pay a little more to get a little more.

Totally agree, you hit the nail on the head.

How is any of that going to revitalise the game? I mean, more suits and wallpapers, really?

After frustration and getting bored with MW3, I'm going back to my good ol' GT5 ways, this game takes away your life. xD

Maybe replace the black screen of death with random wallpaper of Death?

I've already accepted that Kaz and PD no longer really care about this game. I quit hoping for a huge change a long time ago. DLC support started off pretty strong but it's just getting weak now. Same applies to updates. Some on here are saying a Spec III update is possible but I don't think it's going to happen. Another reason why I think support for GT5 is dying is because all the news lately has been about nothing but GT Academy. There's was more news about GT5 back when it was actively still being worked on.

That being said, I'm sticking with Forza Horizon, FM4, and most likely FM5 until GT6, as I don't expect the latter to come out next year.

I stick it on every now and again (when they release an update) and give it a go.

Unfortunately it just reminds me of how sterile the whole package seems and how much is missing from the physics engine.

So it gets turned off after a short while.

It gets on the PS3 few times a week mainly for photo shooting, nothing else much. But back when I was part of leagues, that was a completely different story. :sly:

It's...fading away fast and with Need For Speed: Most Wanted coming...it looks like it could be a goner.

Those things might increase the game's entertainment value to the handful of people still playing (remember, the game sold several million units, so even a quarter million still playing would be piddly compared to the total ownership), but nobody who moved on would pick it back up just for some DLC, which means it wouldn't "revitalize" anything.

Hell no, seriously can't get enough of this game.

You must be new to it. I put probably a few hundred hours into it, all singleplayer, and moved on by mid-2011.
