I've stopped to play completely. Every a-spec event, except long enduros, done on two accounts, golded almost everything on my main account and ~90% on 2nd, got every car i wanted.
Actually, it's been like that for a while, but i tried to trade a little, got a few X1s, Furais and the other stuff... But it's useless anyway, who need that stuff if there's no place to use it.
Had some thought abouts 1k cars trophy, but decided that's not worth my time at all. Not big fan of collecting just for the sake of collection, especially when it's so boring process as it is in GT5. Besides, collect something interesting or beautifull is ok... but collecting ugly standard cars with ~100bhp, that i will never ever use... No thanks, my free time worth a bit more.

I still have a few endurance races to play. As long as they keep updating the seasonal events, it will keep giving me a reason to turn the game on. However, that may change once i reach level 40 and own 1000 cars.

I consider GT online and GT offline two different games. The former is probably one of the greatest console games ever while the latter may not be worth buying in my opinion. Online has yet to even hint at becoming stale, and I know there is more of it to enjoy because I still don't have all the cars. There's also the chance that PD will add in some of what online is missing via patches. Online is what made me buy the game, and it's what keeps me playing.

Though I guess I did technically stop since I don't have a PS3 right now.

I've pretty much stopped playing. I'm level 29 in ASpec and have done all the races I care to do with only the enduros and the FGT (which might as well be a enduro) left. And since my idea of fun is not running around the track with bad driving AI, they'll most likely never get done.

Unless this next patch/update includes full leaderboard support, I'm afraid I won't be playing it at all anymore. Which sucks. Because I do love the physics, cars and tracks and there is literally nothing else on the market outside of iRacing that would even warrant a second look.

Well, since I'm in WRS, I plan on playing to until GT6. Unfortunately, A-spec is almost dead to me. The only thing keeping me going is being able to buy X2010s.

I'm seeing how far I can get in B-Spec right now. I really just want the money and cars to be honest, but I'll try my best to stick with it.

Other than that, playing online, doing time trials, and collecting cars from UCD keeps me in the game. Still, I'm really hoping that future updates will keep extending the life of the game.

I stopped a little bit after Christmas (partially because my wheel mount broke. Partially because it got so boring). I still booted it up to collect paints and museum cards (and do the occasional B-Spec race while I watched TV) but it decided to lock up and corrupt my hard drive yesterday, so I probably won't go back to it for good while.

It has been giving me an excuse to catch up on my GT2 and TXRD2 playing, though.

Why go back?GT4 is nothing like GT5.
Which is a good thing. There is very little that GT5 does that GT4 doesn't do better, and this is coming from someone who really doesn't like GT4.

I'm finding less & less reasons to play it.
I'm actually considering getting a PS2 and GT4...
Go for it. I found it to be a refreshing experience after a month of putting up with GT5's nonsense.

I rarely play it now to be honest, it just doesn't hold me like previous GT's did. The grinding aspect kills the game for me, I don't enjoy driving the same track over and over and over and over again just to buy the cars that I want. Online isn't an option for me, so I can't play the seasonal events, which means I have to grind Indy if I want more cars, grinding is not fun. The short length of the game is shocking considering it took ages to make, they spent too long obsessing over PS4 quality cars and not enough time making the game itself long enough. Speaking as a dedicated GT fan, I can honestly say, graphics and physics aside, GT5 isn't as good as GT4. That makes me dissapointed.

I'll still hang around GTPlanet because I like this place and I'm still interested in GT as a series.

I only play the weekly seasonal events.

I have gone back and restarted NFS Shift. It's a better game IMO

This poll is flawed. It needs an option for:

"I have stopped playing GT5, and I don't even need another more interesting game to play instead. GT5 is simply a crap game, pretty much any other leisure activity trumps it. Even just sitting around on GTP - GTP's online isn't completely broken, for instance".

Edit: and yes I understand the irony of visiting a fan site for a game I can't be bothered actually playing.

Virtually. At level 30 is has absolutely nothing to offer. Seasonal events are all I look forward to. 5 years in development? Nice one Kaz! LOL

Nar too many good games to play: Deadspace 2 for instance.

I play GT once a week or so now and only look forward to seasonal events. Grinding A spec and B spec is just not for me...

I haven't stopped playing it yet but I'm definitely not playing it as much as I used to. Once I've collected all the cars (which should take around another month) I'll probably turn my attention to something else and use GT5 for online racing occasionally. The only thing that may change that is if there's a large update or DLC that includes more events and tracks in the near future.

It's a shame really that PD gave us such a shallow A-Spec mode.

No, still racing like a GT fanboy. As a few have said, there simply isn't any racing game to touch it right now. And Forza 4 had better be pretty darn excellent to grab my attention, because I'm too used to every Forza being flawed like GT5.

Why go back? GT4 is nothing like GT5. I whould not waste may time or money going back..GT5 is the best console game to date.👍
While I agree with you, GT4 is still a great racing game. Without much fuss, it drew me away from Forza 3 after a month. The reason being, it has about 730 cars and 58 tracks, and it has the best Nurburgring in gaming, next to GT5's. The race events are almost endless! While the physics are a little mushy compared to Prologue and GT5, and it has that "old" bot behavior, it still delivers a heck of a racing experience. And the replays are a blast to watch. The graphics are also surprisingly good.

It's a shame really that PD gave us such a shallow A-Spec mode.
Yes, this is disappointing. I think GT5 has the fewest single player events of any Gran Turismo.

I am still completely hooked with GT5.

I'm level 29 A-Spec, 31 B-Spec ( enjoyable after level 20 for me), only half way through the Expert hall on A-spec, and really enjoy seasonals. I just unlocked Vettel challenge(holy crap that is cool).

I also just discovered that I love online racing. I don't know what took me so long but, I avoided it until last Friday. I spent 7 hours today racing on the different variations of the ring with a great mix of people and cars. Afterwards, I spent an hour taking pics of the sunset and night racing. So beautiful and some epic pics.

This game will keep me busy for a very long time.👍

Im switching in between GT5,Minecraft and Black Ops :) School starts again soon so my gaming spare time is going to take a bit of a hit D:

Still playing but....and I hate to say this... I am not sure how much longer. No more grinding, I do not have the time or inclination to do a 24hr Aspec race without in race saves, fewer and fewer friends are playing GT5 - there has been a steep falling away curve in the last two weeks.

I played GT3 and GT4 for months and months and months... that is very unlikely to happen with GT5. There were many ways in which I could create replayabilty in GT3 and GT4 that do not exist in GT5. GT5 just gave me a short game with (a fairly basic) online option.

However, 1.06 will be the first patch where they have had both the feedback and the time to really think about some important and basic improvements to the game, so I think that 1.06 is going to be crucial as to my, and I suggest others, commitment to GT5. If it is just 'GT Anywhere' then I will see it as a case of adding some more unnecessary frills and realistically game over for myself. But, if 1.06 includes some key updates that improve the gameplay then things may be different.

Yes, I stopped completely at the beginning of January, after about one month of playing time.
Too many things missing since past games, what is left is the same rehashed stuff, there's hardly any improvement in many areas, spoon-fed updates and seasonal events are mostly geared toward casual gamers (these people are by the way the main reason why the game has lost its magic, in my opinion).
There's really not much point for me to continue playing. It's become quickly boring over time (grind-fest), and regarding realism and accuracy (driving, settings, etc), while it does have improved over past games, it's still not enough to keep myself hooked on it like how a sim as Iracing (for example) would.

I'm glad I waited to upgrade my old force feedback wheel. GT5 has been a major disappointment for me and I don't really feel like spending more money for it at this point.

Now I'm just curious about what future updates will bring...

I'm still buying and time trialling cars, but a-spec and b-spec don't get touched. I do a little arcade racing and the seasonals for the cash. Otherwise just online vs friends

Not playing this thing anymore. Watching movies and waiting for TDU2. This game just wasn't for me although I thought it was. I enjoy F12010, SBK X, NFS:HP much more. Don't have enough time for GT5.

And the replays are a blast to watch. The graphics are also surprisingly good

That's so true. I like GT5 much more than GT4 because it has a much better handling model (I never like the physics simulation of GT4) but the replays is one area I find GT5 to be extremely lacking compared to GT3 and GT4.

I was always watching the replays in GT3 and GT4. The first time I saw them I was blown away. I have never seen more realistic graphics and the images the PS2 was generating were more convincing than even the most powerfull PC of the time. They still look great and real, especially if you step a bit back from the monitor so that you will not see the blurry textures! :D

I almost never watch the replays of GT5. Somehow they are not as convincing as in previous games. I am not sure what's wrong... The camera direction, the glitchy shadows, the bad alpha blending in smoke effects, the lack of reflections in wet tracks... Only replays from Nordschleife somehow seem good and realistic.

I think that the main reason they are not convincing is the fact that GT5 graphics are not "balanced" like GT3's and GT4's. The one minute you see a great looking premium car, then you see it covered in ugly shadows  and then a standard car passes by which looks worse than it looked in GT4 due to the 1080p which makes the blurry textures look worse than PS2! :ouch: And then you see the cutout 2D people which are "sticking out" due to the 1080p (which didn't happen on PS2 due to the lower resolution) and you have nightmares!:scared:

Actually this in known in animation circles as Uncanny valley. The more you approach how a real object looks the slightest imprecision makes the final result much more unconvincing...

I've recently taken to the photography side of things and seeing as there is so much scope, I can't imagine turning to another game for quite some time. The only 'proper' races I do though are the Seasonal events; if those continue for the foreseeable future I will get to level 40 A-spec slowly but surely.

Whoa...this is weird. I just realized that I do this as well...GT5 is just supplying my background music while im browsing GT Planet. Which isnt to say that I dont play the game...its just that sometimes, I actually spend more time on here reading the forums than playing the game.

One can still expect/hope for some sudden and complete improvement patches or speculate about future additions like during the GT5 waiting period.

I'm back to that phase right now, although I'm not actively participating to the discussions (or even reading them) anymore.

I am still playing it almost daily, re-doing some of the Championships in different cars etc.
Also spending a lot of time racing on-line, I know many people complain about not finding decent races but I have made a lot of friends that are real good drivers and since they are from all over the world i don't really have a problem finding a decent room at any time.
Many of these guys actually come from Gt Planet that I have contacted or that got in touch with me.:)

3 Days ago i reached level 31 finally,(completed vettel challenge and suzuka) but...theres nothing to do more...WTF? i played gt4 1 year and 64%,GT5 1 month 89%...this game lacks so much events...so i technicaly stoped playing it 3 days ago, cause in nothing anymore to do....everything is finished done...What a waste for a GT game...i just put the disc in ps3 now,se 2mins the profile...and than play another game.

I just picked the last voting option, because its the closes to describe what I'm going through. I guess?

I picked up Death Space 2 today, thinking that I could start playing it. I waited til the sun comes down, in order to get more out of the vibe from the game. As soon as I opened my PS3, my brain went into overdrive and started GT5.

Lately, I've started building my collection of cars. Its slowly getting there and its almost becoming a pokemon addicting type for me. My BOBs drives the X1 to grind more money and exactly right away go on a spending spree in the UCD. Also adding to the addiction that I've created an excel spreedsheet of my garage, to help me track my cars, it is working great! (Dont even mention that site that lets me organise my garage, I just find my way more easier for me than that site)

I'll start Death Space 2 soon, I just finished updating my list, BUT very soon be right back in GT5 again.
