Wow...

How do so many of you find it so easy to Gold all the way through??

I am on the IB licenses at the moment, and on some of them, I am starting to struggle to even get silver. I am not a pro driver by any means, but i consider myself to be at least decent at this game. And yet Gold seems impossible to reach on most of the tests. Its making me start to question the realism of the tests, becuase some of them seem to want you to throw out the proper driving line and just go at it Rambo style....

Any tips that would possibly improve my times? I feel like Im not learning to drive better, which is something that I want from this game.

FYI, I am using a G27...

Woohoo golded my last license 5 min. ago, so happy :') maybe take the effort later to post photo, just wanted to shout it out:)

The IC-10 makes for my immense frustrate! :ouch::ouch::nervous::ouch:

I am becoming slightly furious.

This test is making a furious. IC-10 is making for me to chew off my testicle !!!!!

I seriously need a wheel or something.. I'm struggling to get lots of the golds, even some on the first few licences. I'm going for all silvers I think, although there's a silver I can't seem to crack just yet; can't remember exactly which but it's in a Nissan Fairlady at Indy. I must be doing something horrifically wrong because I can't make any time up at all.

I may just give up, the licences are worth basically no XP and you get no money, so there's no motivation for me really.

I do have a wheel and I just can't seem to do it. I feel like I've reached some sort of ceiling in my abilities in this game. With the greatest ease I bronze everything VERY close to silver and that seems to be it. No matter how many more times I try I barely get silver (sometimes) and gold just seems out of reach. I try not to make too many attempts because honestly it makes me almost hate the game. I guess I just have to let go of the idea I'll ever get all gold on this like many others here seem to do with not all that much trouble.

Am I the only one with this 'ceiling feeling'? It's insanely frustrating. There's even several frikkin' C licenses I can't for the world seem to get gold on.

*sigh*

It really depends how much patience you have... I was never that fast in GT1/2/3, but in GT4 I made a real effort with the license tests. I spent weeks getting all the golds... some of the difficult ones took hours and hours of running.

But I believe that all the time I invested in GT4 really taught me how to be quick in GT games... learning the proper lines, concentrating on exit speed, learning not to just stuff the car in to turns and hope.

I believe that if you have the patience, and you try and learn from the process, you will come out of the end of it a better and faster driver when it comes to racing.

its funny for me with the really challenging tests here, I can try and try and try with some and only get silver, then just leave for an hour or two, come back and get it gold the first try!

Not a chance of getting all gold im kept happy with all silver :) although the Suzuka race on the super license i cant catch the 1st too cars got get 2nd place for silver there far too far up the road time ive got past the Jag and Spyker at the hairpin. any tips welcome?

That's the only S that gave me any trouble because you really *need* to get by the skyline in spoon or you'll never catch the ferrari since he's faster on the run to 130R.
You have to really push through the esses to take everything up to the xj220 before the run to degner (the example shows how to do this). Even doing that its really hard to get the next two cars before the hairpin, but you must pass at least the jag in degner to be close enough to the skyline to get him on braking into spoon.
Best way I found is that you can cut the kerb and take the first right faster than the 220 then brake early cut sharp and get on the power early and go inside the jag as he's exiting degner. The timing is hard since that car is so bloody wide you can't get him at the apex but you can turn sharper and get him on exit... then get the next car on braking for the hairpin. This puts you also on the outside at the hairpin so you can take it faster and be right up the tail pipe of the skyline. The california is then trivial to pass @ the chicane (or 130R if you're brave)

set traction control to 3 so that you can drift a bit round the corners and try to control your throttle for the last 2 corners while switching off the ABS because for me, I tend to brake too much which cause me valuable time esp. this one

P.S i use the controller

I finished with the first 50 last night and am looking forward to tackling the S license as it sounds like it's pretty enjoyable.

I totally agree... I am in the process of trying to get all silver, but even that is getting difficult. I also have a wheel, a G27, and just cant seem to figure out how so many people do it so quickly and easily.

Like I said in my post above... I really feel like Im not learning to drive better, which is something that I would like to get out of this game.

This question was posted before, but I couldn't find a clear answer

If you get gold on a license test do you get the bronze, silver, and gold cars? Or do you have to get bronze, then silver, then gold to get all the cars?

I'd like to know because it will make a difference on how I approach the test. From peoples prize lists I'm inferring that you get all cars for getting gold, but I'd like to know for sure.

It will come with practice. Go play the game. Do some races and special events and just get some time driving. I think you'll find that the license tests will be much easier then. A lot of cornering comes down to feel and comes with repetition. Don't worry it comes with time.

Got 'em all golded a couple of hours ago. The IA-10 and S8 were the hardest ones to gold (both took at least a few hours a piece), but got them eventually after some serious yelling and cursing. Hope the neighbours enjoyed it.

YES just finished all golds and I found IA-10 to be the hardest also. Some of the rally ones were insanely easy though, I think overall they found a pretty challenging balance. Did it all on dualshock. Registered today because I'm very proud of myself and this is my first post!

I'm on the 50th license which I'm sorta having trouble with.

I just finished that one last night. If you've golded the IC-10 (30th) & IB-10 (40th) you'll be able to do IA-10 (50th). Just practice and stick with it. It still probably took me a couple hours. The main thing I found is too outbreak the AI but only try to break in a straight line. I want to say that if you can be in second, or darn close, after the first lap you're doing great.

When you beat just one license test and say you achieve gold right off the bat, then you gain the experience of bronze, silver + gold. When you complete a whole license test with gold, you will receive the bonus cars for bronze, silver + gold.

So far, so good! I'll be on ib once I beat the remarkably fun ic-10! :)
