So, who's got all 60 Golds in their licence tests yet?

I guess walking away for a few minuts helped...
2nd attempt after I went back and VIOLA! I finally got all 60. Not sure how to do a screenshot like you guys are doing though?

Roughly 85% throttle on start, brake at last "X", no ABS, 1/2 way during braking apply full E-Brake. No fancy turn stops..just a straight one. 26.699 <-- LOL!

When I was trying to gold IC-1 i got like 0.005 from gold and it seemed that was impossible to beat. After a while I noticed that when accelerating, shifting gears just BEFORE the shift indicator would cause me to go faster than the ghost car. After that I got gold easily.

I decided to 'gold' all my licences... I stated with the 1st two licences then decided to move up to S and work my way down, ending with the IC licence. Specifically IC-1. Low and behold it just happens to be the HARDEST DARN ONE in the game!??? I breezed through most of them (except the rally ones.. I hate dirt) and I now have golds in EVERY LICENCE except IC-1. After about 200 attempts I decided to go to the forums here and see if any others are having the same issue. It's the most ignorant of tests..it's not about 'skill' per-se but your ability to figure out when to hit the brakes. It would be better if the car was already rolling and you didn't have to take the accelleration into account... Up till now, I've LOVED GT5. However, this ONE licence test has me so torqued. It's like a frickin arcade game.

Oh well, back to give it another 200 attempts...

After hitting the brakes in the correct spot (just before that green X on the track) shift down to 1st immediately to get some engine braking going on, and tap (holding on and off for half a second at a time) the handbrake as you are braking.

150-odd attempts without doing this. Passed first time using the handbrake.

how many of the 99 guys are using a PAD not a WHEEL??? because i got to tell you im finding that using a pad it is almost impossible to get gold on some challenges, i was a very fast racer in forza 2 and 3 with the pad but wheel users were still always faster i just want to know if its the same over here, obviously as this is closer to simulation than forza i would expect it to be.

I'd like to debunk this post. I noticed that using a wheel with a clutch can slow you down on account that using a pad "blip" clutches you along. It's annoying, honestly, you pretty much have to paddle shift if you wanna get faster times..

Add me please :)

I know for a fact that you can change the car's brake bias while you're driving. Maybe if you upped the strength of both the front and back brakes to 10 this test would be easier. Has anyone tried that?

Yes , I have done that. And I have a record breaking time for that test (IC-1).
Short: All aids off + rear brake bias up.

Finally got it done...all with the DS3. Same challenges as everyone else but as others have noted, it seemed a bit easier than GT4 (and GT3 for that matter!):

Now I'm gonna upload my times to Gold Junkies and GTRP...and then wait for holl01 to come and smash them all

👍 I may never be able to complete the licences with sixaxis.

I'd like to point out and say it again:

The times for IC10 , IB10 and IA10 are calculated by combining the first lap that you get from the replay and the time at replay threatre.
On the other hand , the IC9 , IB9 and IA9 + whole S licence can be taken directly from replay theatre.

I golded IC-3! Party at my house!

If I just got 1 Cr for every failed attempt at IC-3 :)

But really, you should get a few credits for anything you do to reward people who are trying hard and practicing.

I've tried driving with a wheel and I can see it would improve my times if I really got into it...but I think my other half would kill me if I invested in one :) Besides, I'm now used to feathering the buttons with my arthritic hands :sly:👍

As for my leading times on GoldJunkies, I'm going to have to get my actual times as you suggest for IC-10, IB-10 and IA-10 because they're obviously wrong, I'm also certain my winning times for S-05 and S-08 will have involved contact with AI and so I'd much prefer not to have credit for those until I can tidy them up 👍 I'll also have to check out IB-05 to see how I got the leading time for that...I don't know which one that was?!?

Also, I saved all my replays for my times and I'm in the process of retrieving them from my PS3 and so if anyone wants any of the replays for practising/ghosting with or scrutinising I'm happy to provide 👍

I am now sitting on 60/60 gold with a DS3. Really, not too much of a challenge outside IC-1, IB Slalom and B-5. Started on Super, decided "Hey, I golded the super license without trying, bet I can gold em all", and did just that. IC first, IA yesterday, IB, A and B today. Pretty easy, just lots of repetitions.

The Slalom wasn't nearly as absurdly difficult as the version from GT2 I remember.

I'll get a proof pic up when the website is back up. :)

I think tonight I will try to get the rest of my "I" licenses gold. Still got 4 silver I think.

I've got 35 golds, 5 silvers. I'm thinking of getting a wheel.. these license challenges make Prologue seem like a kiddie racer.

Sorry but I'm having a heck of a time uploading my @#$% picture of my 60 Golds. I'll try again later...
