I guess PD wasn't thinking quite right about holding on to that premium Impreza model for when they finally released GT5. Why didn't they just do that?! Demonstration or not, the point is that PD had the car model and threw it away like idiots. All they would have to do is retouch the model slightly and add a cockpit view, it would be ready to go afterwards.

Because it wasn't a fully detailed premium as we have in GT5. It was in between what we have as standards and premiums.

He also said that he didn't know which console GT6 was going to be on and that PD always aim for the latest technology. He says a lot of things.

The PS4 is 99.9% sure to be revealed at E3 in June and probably released in time for Christmas next year. As for dev kits PD will have had them for a long time, longer than any other developer since they're first party. As for starting from scratch Kaz said the most time consuming part of making GT5 (60% of the entire time) was modelling the cars. So nothing has changed in that and would be the same whether makijng a PS3 or PS4 game.

4k gaming is not coming in the next generation consoles, the hardware is not available cheaply enough and they aren't going to wait another four+ years until it is. They had to start building the machine a long time ago. They may output 4k video but 4k games, not a chance. Not unless you want them to cost $1000+ USD.

No, I wouldn't. GT5 is dead, a few more cars or one or two tracks isn't going to re-ignite it for me.

Having had a look around the 'net, clearly I've been out of the loop for quite some time. I remember the name Orbis being mentioned, that was the last I'd heard! But fair fair, I stand corrected on that issue, and the technical side of things based on the info out there...

But I think you didn't quite get the point about a few tracks/cars. I meant a few at a time, every couple of months, there's plenty options available, and it's just whether PD want to go and scan cars and tracks. I'm sure they're capable of running 2 projects at a time, it'll just depend on if they want to continue with GT5. And as you say, if x amount is potentially gonna be recycled for the next game, then they already have something to start with.

I originally said GT5 was dead December 2010, most people probably rattled through it in a sole player regime, so yeah, with limited seasonal's propping it up along the way, and then Spec 2.0 adding a little something else, but maybe you're correct on the general overview.

The thing is though as each day passes x number of people stop playing the game. It doesn't matter what game it is, that's just how it is, people move on. GT5 is now two years old and the number of people playing it is obviously going to be quite a lot lower than it was when the first DLC was released.

They could continue to release tracks and cars for GT5 but the time has to come when it's more worthwhile to hold them back for GT6 and use them as new content to promote your game. I personally think that time has passed and anything they have modelled is better saved as wow material for GT6.

Well, having a third category in your garage for one single car would even make less sense.

There are some premium cars in the game without a cockpit view right? I think the GT-R Proto doesn't have one, and it's premium.

Well, apparently some guy named sorg found a bunch of stuff on the Gt5 disc that we cannot use because of PD

And then some guy started the discussion of what platform GT6 will be on and why GT5 is 'dead'. Boohoo..

Sorg should just say something to keep total chaos from happening.

I really don't want this thread to be locked up. I mean, there was one thread where one person was thanking Kaz and PD for their hard work on this game, until it became XTREMELY off topic and somehow became an argument, THAN the thread had to be locked up because of those people.

I seriously don't want this thread to end like that and be locked up too. This thread is really intresting and can't wait to hear what @sorg found. :)

Well, I think I read that Sorg would come back after the weekend with some findings. So give it til tomorrow, come back and hopefully find some more info' that's relevant to this thread.

I will try to bring this back on topic. Does anyone know how long sorg has been looking into this? Because he created this thread as his first post...so has he only been doing this for a few weeks? Or for a year?

why has sorg stopped feeding us more info?

Maybe because has it stands there is nothing more to feed us with at the moment?

Plus it would be nice since there is so many questions from people why not someone go and sift this thread and post all the questions in one post until he returns with some further news if he finds something of interest?

I guess that would be more productive rather than taking it off topic and just asking anything?
Chat soon bye for now.:)

Which is why I suggested that they could have just fixed the model to become premium car status. I mean, they had a bunch of time to mess with a lot of car models between GT4 and GT5's release.

It's obvious that they took the other car models from GTHD and retouched the models to have more realistic detail. The Impreza Rally Car deserved the same treatment as the others.

I think that all the cars in GT:HD were like work in progress premiums. ;)

That's sort of what I was thinking.
I personally think PD used a lot of their PS3 car models from GTHD and GT5P for Premium cars in GT5. All they did was give the models more detail before adding them into the game. Of course, this is what I think has happened.
