I can bash any GTA 2012 cars because I tried to send the silvia to myself and it said car cannot be sent. Were in trouble guys I smell boosters as they say in COD.

What?

The whole deal with the GT Academy cars is either a hoax or someone has hacked the game if we have tickets floating around. I tried to send the silvia to myself and it said car cannot be sent.

Ah ok got you.

They are hacked tickets, not hacked cars. If you value your PSN ID and therefore your thousands of hours of SAVEDATA stay well clear of them.

Quite. I wouldn't touch those tickets with a finglonger strapped to a two hundred foot pole.
You will not use these forums for the purposes of sharing or distributing viruses, licenses, registration information, software keys, pirated commercial multimedia files, “cracks”, or other information designed to do harm to or allow unlawful access to any computer software or systems.
And in my opinion whats the point of the AUP if they don,t get adhere too?
Oh and by they way the AUP suggests it to me it looks like an infringment on them too?
The way I read the AUP it shows to me he also broke them by making people aware of some software he,s cracked open and distributing the information of that?
Let's have a look at that AUP, shall we?

You will not use these forums for the purposes of sharing or distributing:
  • Viruses
Has sorg shared or distributed a virus? No.
  • Licenses
Has sorg shared or distributed a licence? No.

Has sorg shared or distributed information designed to do harm or allow unlawful access to any computer software or systems? No.
So... where's the AUP breach?

sorg's shared information that has clearly been obtained through special means - and since he's stated he's done so on an authorised Playstation 3 system (as opposed to a clone or a computer emulating a PS3) you've incorrectly quoted the GT5 licensing disclaimer - but at no point has the information required to allow others to do the same been shared on GTPlanet. It may not even be unlawful to access GT5 in this fashion, but that'd be a significant grey area and an argument for lawyers that we just don't want to get into, so we'll stay out of those arguments by clarifying that we won't allow that sort of discussion:
I'd like to make sure this is clear: any specific discussion regarding exactly how to decrypt or manipulate the game's files will be deleted and could result in the suspension of your account on GTPlanet.
So I don't see any issue with the AUP here. We've drawn the line quite clearly and it doesn't appear to have been crossed in any obvious way.

Internet white knights and mini-modders, you just can't hold them back.

I love it when admins come in a thread, explain 'abused' rules clearly and leave 'ban requesters' with dropped jaws.

Thank you kindly for clearing that up Famine instead of everyone telling me this that and other about the AUP?

Its just this line which is confusing and a little vague
" or allow unlawful access to any computer software or systems "

Thats why my understanding of it was just what was happening here, I guess am mistaken on that and its worded in such a way its a little misleading?

Plus the line on the copyright on the cover of the game.
" Has you can see it clearly states that All unauthorised access, use or transfer of the product or its underlying copyright and trademark works is prohibited"

And its the term transfer of its product. Which is what has been discussed in this thread. (Any information on the disc when used in a manner other than its intended purpose?) Its a game not an exploration disc for the ground for finding and exposing code to the general public?
To me a strong argument for the disc being used in manner than its intended purpose?

But no worrys, Am moving on, I guess some people are so desperate for information that is not intended for them they will do what they can to get there hands on it.
Really sad to say the least but this thread with all its good intentions has done nothing but opened up the intrigue of peoples minds, To go explore just like whats happened here?
Thanks Famine for your help in the matter.👍
Chat soon bye for now.:)

Now I understand it and never questioned you on that and am well aware who has the powers to be to do such an act?

And I presume this peice is for Famine.
On the last note thanks for clearing it up famine.

Hope I have cleared that up without another reqoute.:D

It was in response to the part above but I guess I could have over reacted.

Guys, let's stop discussion about AUP and laws. If you would like to trade non-tradeable items, then do it at your own risk without discussing about it here. I don't share hacks, files or GT5 items, so please discuss about legal issues from it in the marketplace topics where you share it.
I would like to keep this topic for GT5 discoveries only, mine or someone else - it doesn't matter. It's already hard to read. If some users found it interesting originally, then now it's quite boring from these meaningless posts...

No worrys mate alls fine with me and you.👍

Its just all the other jumped up little wise cracks that are probably sat on a porcupine and need to stand up some times to release the pressure.:D

Anyway like I say am moving on, Cheers, Have a good Christmas if you celebrate it.

No worrys Sorg I have never had any hard feelings towards you. And never knowingly tried anything of the sort.

Its just when we have discussed it in PMs you knew what I meant about others and how they would get the idea and do similar to what your doing but for a more malicous adventure than supplying information with good intentions.
Thats the interwebby for you, Always the bad guy looking in?

Anyway same to you has all others hope you have good Christmas.
And yeah moving on here, I guess what will be will be.
Chat soon mate bye for now.:)

EDIT: Sorry for double post I thought I was in qoute mode and editing.:nervous:

No information has been provided by sorg that would allow other people to do this.
Plus the line on the copyright on the cover of the game.

It defines authorised access as through a PS3 - rather than an emulator (PC or console clone).
And its the term transfer of its product.
Unauthorised transfer of the product hasn't occurred - it's still being used on a PS3.

Unless someone starts trying to provide the software (even naming it) used in this endeavour to allow others to ape it, there is no issue with this thread or any of its participants. As it is, this is just "look what else is on the disc", as we've seen on many previous GT games. GT3 even had a thriving hybrid community based on transferring the data to a PC to modify!

The first 2 points is quite clear in the way you have said which you have qouted me, its the other bit?

" Unauthorised transfer of the product hasn't occurred - it's still being used on a PS3."

Which gives me doubts. The game in question is being used on a PS3, Fine.
Thats the game?

I now have doubts regarding that, With your explanation which is correct but its the information in its own rights, (The items in its code and its distribution?) Which is being transfered. Thats the information on the disc that is not intended to be used in the manner its being used in?
And that information is then being taken wrote down and supplied to the general public through this thread?

That would be my idea of the transference?

I know its a fine area and I would like to draw a line under all this Famine and I don,t want to get into any arguments over it but Its seems thats how I see it?

But like I say am wanting to move but keep getting qouted?
Thanks again for your explantions and help in this matter,👍 always appreciated.
Chat soon and since every one is getting a merry Christmas you too have a very Merry Christmas.

You need to retain the idea of what "unauthorised" means.

All games - and most other media - are supplied hardware with a software (or media) licence. The licence is typically a single user licence - you may use the software (or media) anywhere you please so long as you only do it in one place at a time. You may technically install it on any number of devices as you wish, but you may only use it on one at a time.

PS3 games have a further step in the licence. The licence is only valid so long as you are using a PS3 to read the software. They use the term "authorised PS3 console" to refer to consoles they have made - it doesn't even refer to the firmware on it - to distinguish them from any device that will seek to emulate the PS3. This means that authorised use is defined as using the software on a Sony PlayStation 3.

Unauthorised transfer is the transfer of the software to any unauthorised device - such as a PC. There's a few reasons you might want to do that, including using the software to build your own PS3 emulator and you can see why Sony don't want you to do it.

Writing things from the game down and putting them on the internet (or in a book  ) isn't unauthorised transfer. Photographing the screen and posting the photo on the internet isn't unauthorised transfer. Even if it's parts of the game that are hidden due to reasons of removed features (and I don't think you can cite intent of purpose here). Pulling the game files apart on a PC might be. Putting them back together again differently and trying to play the game probably is and Sony would view that as a breach of licence and ban your console - in accordance with the terms of service that you agree to when playing online.

Finally some correct information to help me out at least.👍
So we are now getting down to the understandsing of the copyrights of the game and consoles.

So anyone who has the the necessary software and a jailbroke PS3 is not breaking the law and that exploring the disc in a matter than what the disc was intended for "A game" Is seen to be doing anything wrong.
Thats fine am really glad you have cleared that one up, Simply becuase having a jailbroke PS3 or any other firmware wrote on the PS3 was my thoughts that that PS3 was against what ever copyrights was in place on the consoles?
Always thought otherwise.

It was my thought that the program what GT is wrote in (Software) was the property of PD/Sony so any information using a console that is not modified in anyway would not be abe to gather that information.

And while some people with consoles that have been modified its ok for them to explore the discs and make all the information which is not readily available to the general public ok for them to make it public.

Now I know how transfernce is working any picture or information you publish on the net from inside the game is ok, it becomes you who have the rights to that bit of information then. But what is not readily available is that information has you need software and a modified console to gather it to make it public?

So any information is there for the taking then, Simply by anyone who wishes to do so has long has they don,t modify the game or it files or use it on a pc to do so.👍

Clear has a bell to me now. Always appeciative for the information.
Thank you very kindly Famine.

Look at it this way. You have a license to play the game that is stored on the disc, there is nothing to say you're not allowed to access parts of that game/disc that aren't normally available. You have a license for the entire contents of the disc, the fact some of it is normally hidden isn't relevent.

I suppose anything like that in order to be illegal would need to be spelled out. As it hasnt does that mean its fine to continue?

About 300+ posts ago I was concerned about this drifting off further, now look at what happened. :scared:

I still recommend getting the OP organized with all needed information and/or cleaning this thread up a bit. Jordan and Famine have clarified that this thread does not at all conflict with the AUP so long as sorg does not share his methods to obtain the informations posted in this thread. I think we should just leave it at that and get back to topic.

Speaking of getting back to topic, sorg, another question about these RSS tyres: You tested the effects on a "normal" car, but what about the difference between RS and RSS on, for example, the X2010? I'd find it interesting to see what effect this has on lap times with regard to Vettel's times, because as the screenshot posted shows he used RSS tyres :sly:

Yeah thats kind of it.👍
The AUP looks like its been broke, Well to me anyway, I have tried to point that out?
And yes in all honesty it could have legal ramifications if something higher came down from representative bodies of PD/Sony. Or anyone who wish to pursuit this on there behalf?

Am sorry mate its very late here and this will be my last post, Just getting a little hard to write and seen the keyboard properly. Cheers.👍
Chat soon bye for now.:)

If that's the case we should all report your PSN ID for distributing hacked tickets which can effect online gameplay.

And then why would we exclude you from any legal matters? You part took in the action yesterday.

PD/Sony will not be wise to do anything about it. They need to worry about next year and the PS4 sales + future sales. Passing around some non currency valued items should be their least concerns.

I'd like to trade for this car if possible. I have many paints and cars and can buy off the OCD so please let me know if you're looking for anything specific and I'll see if I have it.

Why would they do anything about it, for now at least they're just free GT Academy cars being sent around. They're not losing out on any money. Now if actual paid DLC cars start getting passed around for nothing, then they certainly would but i'm pretty sure that won't happen as previously explained.

Which screenshot? Must have missed that one.

Not sure if there has been a screenshot posted in this thread that he refers to, but it's true that Vettel used Racing Super Soft tyres in the official trailer about his laps.

Look at 1:29, for a tenth of a second you see him on the driving options menu when he clicks OK, and it's set to RSS.

I noticed that watching this video ages ago. :sly:

Ah yes I do remember that posted as a screenshot now, I just didn't realise what it was supposed to be showing without the video as context.
