So you're saying hackers didn't think to try and look into the GT5 disc until sorg did?

The idea was put out by Sorg that he found information so that bit is the clue to what your asking.

Now others have got the idea in there head and done just what he did. Thats not rocket science to work out?

And by his own submission he said he,s not the best at what he,s doing so I guess others are just has capable has him.
But there intentions appear not to be quite has honourable.
But thats the way of the internet, The idea is all they needed?

GT5 is dead long live Gran Turismo? (I really would love to put since this thread was contrived? Sorry but thats my feelings and opinions :( )
Chat soon bye for now.:)

Not saying anybody has got anywhere with it but now the idea and PROOF someone has cracked it, That I and my opinion think its a question of time that it will hit somewhere before long and then any thing thats available has DLC or bought/won will become available for FREE.:(

Going on circa late-2011 information, because I haven't bothered checking since, things that need to be bought off of PSN to be used need to be activated server side and installed on your PS3. Things that could be downloaded for free on PSN didn't have that limitation, but they still needed to be installed to be used and that also takes a hacked PS3. I'm doubtful that we will see the paid DLC be available for free for any game, especially not GT5 which has an extra layer to work through (the in-game install) to get it to work in game.

What really interests me is that Kaz recently stated....

"Every Gran Turismo version is actually very different and made from scratch; we really go back to the drawing board for a lot of things. GT5 isn't necessarily a continuation of GT4, and the next game won't necessarily be a continuation of GT5."

https://www.gtplanet.net/gran-turis...e-kazunori-yamauchis-2012-gtplanet-interview/

Which kinda contradicts the code from previous versions theory for GT6.

What do you guys think?

The first 3 GT games (and previous things that Kaz had said about those titles during development of GT4) prove that wrong. GT2 -> GT3 especially.

But glitched how? Someone in there must know where/who they originally came from.

True, but do you honestly think they are going to say who they came from. Pretty sure someone in the Market Place knows something. If you do a bit of backtracking, you can pretty much tell where they started from. But, thats not necessarily who did the hacking, just where they started from.

I understand where your coming from. But not sure if they need to be activated or what but am speaking on behalf a group of people who have certain items that are DLC stuff.
And am going to destroy a few dreams here but some DLC paints. :( Have circulated too.:(

And they are usable. Plus tradable.

Like I say GT5 is dead long live Gran Turismo.:(

And please am speaking from some one who loves the GT series its just been killed within about a week or so.
Chat soon bye for now.:)

And I cannot say this enough please no one accuse me I just don,t do stuff like hacking.
But I will not sit there with something am given and not pass it to the next person.
Thats is why I set the thread up in question.

No one is accusing you of anything my friend. All I said was that whoever the first person was that started distributing these items, must surely know who gave them to them in the first place. And even then, that person might not even be the hacker.

 I know mate but history would tell you my thread was the first out there with an untradable car which was won in the Academy 2012 time events.

So by power of deduction there is going to be a lot of pointed fingers?

Anyway folks, Like I say great thread loved every minute of it but hackers will be hackers and given the idea this thread provided by putting the information out there that items could be found on the disc it opened the door for every Tom Dick and Harry to do what Sorg has done.
What else can I say?
Chat soon bye for now.:)

EDIT: On another little note while am at it anyone who missed out on the Academy car for some reason I think theres a couple floating around the markeplace.:D

And because of how PD implemented the DLC in the game, it's not terribly surprising that if you can disable the trade restrictions you can send those cars/paints/suits/helmets out to those who don't have them. But that's almost certainly something that can be fixed because PD set it up that way in the first place. We can probably expect a patch post haste to do nothing but that, in fact.

What that does not mean is that this hack will lead to everyone being able download the DLC to their PS3s and use it as if they actually bought it themselves (ie., they have the tracks, and the cars are available in the dealerships, and etc.).

Like I say GT5 is dead long live Gran Turismo.:(

What does this mean? Anyone who has continued playing GT5 to this point likely isn't doing so because of the DLC offerings that this exploit will temporarily be able to circumvent, nor will it likely effect PD's already drip-fed DLC offerings in the future.

If PD drops GT5 support tomorrow, it will almost certainly have far more to do with the fact that the game came out 2 years ago and diminishing returns are very much in effect than because of this.

Ok then, let me ask you this. Since you were the first known person to distribute that item, where did you get it from? I know you don't have to tell me, but surely its a question others may want an answer to.

Hi mate I kind of hope so or my money is not that good when others can have something I paid for.:(

And some people are more than likely working as we speak to start sending DLC cars?
Thats probably only a presumption but am sure if this lot has happened in a week whats to say will come?
Rather than you say that they get it from download they get it given has a gift? So the tracks and such like would be safe but anything else thats tradable or untradble shall I say could be possibly sent and used by others?

And what I mean by that saying is that am a trader and like doing that so if am capable of getting every car with not much effort the game could be over for me? And others like me who like to trade?

Its like the Queen is dead long live the Queen, Meaning another will replace her?
So for me apart from dirty racing and other events that take my fancy GT5 is dead long live the next edition. Something on them lines.:D
Hope that makes sense.

And I have been asked a few times already.

I really think since this has come to be. PD should just release all of this "hidden" content..We know it's there. Why make us wait?

SimonK
So you're saying hackers didn't think to try and look into the GT5 disc until sorg did?

There has been discussion on a very modest level about how to "decrypt" GT5. Particularly for DLC. There was a guy looking at how to retrieve the "key" file to see how it worked in enabling that key bought from the PS Store.

The guy was having a tough guy from GTP users, and also trying to decrypt the GT5 keys. So sorg isn't the first person to try and decrypt GT5 but he is however someone who has shared his findings with the public eye but with best intentions in mind. That's important to note.

I'm pretty sure there was a mod or Jordan stepped in and deleted the thread and permanently banned the user. This was about last year, summer time if I recall correctly.

Ummm snitches get stiches....No real point in figuring who sent to whom and when they sent it to whom. It is already out and circulating at a fairly rapid pace.

Like a nasty little virus

More serious than that here in Detroit - Snitches wind up in ditches, lol.

I wasn't asking for my own benifit really because I already knew he probably wouldn't say. My point was, he knows the person it came from and probably knows if that person is the one who did the hacking or not. My bet is that, whoever he got it from, is the person responsible for hacking/glitching the ticket. Why else would he be relunctant to say who it is as he himself had no problem releasing the ticket as he is not the one that glitched it. He is just the one to put it in circulation, no harm in that, right?

Harmless or not, circulating something that is supposed to be untradable item seems not right to me. I think if PD knows this, they might fix it on the next update.

 at ditches... better line for the next time :sly:

If they do X it out on the servers then no real harm but, just a party foul by PD/Sony.

As for finding the WHOM, it has been an interesting week so why even aid on a witch hunt and make it easier for PD/Sony to find the WHOM. Let the WHOM be, as no real harm has been generated from this. Even untradeable paints getting out is harmless as you cannot re-buy the paint packs. If the DCL cars gets out...that would be crossing the line as I for one have yet to purchase them all (YET).

So PD/Sony is not losing money but actually gained more interest IMHO via Free adverstisement of GT5.

I just find this interesting to talk about, thats all. Something to do while b-spec bob breaks in a car for me, lol.

 If its in my garage it will be in someones else before I got the dust sheet off it.:D

Sorry for putting it like that. Been a hard day.:)

But why I put the thread initially was to ask people I have a car thats untradable blah blah blah told them its tradable otherwise I wouldn,t have it?

Then I got loads of request for the ticket so I started a train to get it moving.
I pass to someone they pass to next and so on?
I guess with me doing that lots have it now.:D

But imagine all the people who missed out on the Academys they can have it too. Plus those who are not very good at the time trails where we got the ticket of PD has a gift for getting GOLD. And don,t forget them who didn,t even have the chance to enter the event?
Correct me if am wrong but that event didn,t go out to all parts of the world.
Until recently and then am still not sure.

And what happens when the next car comes out what someone glitchs from all this valuable information. That will circulate too. By who I don,t know but it will move just like other stuff have.
Chat soon bye for now.:)

I know what glitch has been used for GT Academy cars to trade. This works only on non-DLC cars with price under 1mil (all GTA cars have price, and all of them are <1mil). So, this glitch is limited to GTA cars only.
DLC cars are safe and won't be spread this way. Even, if someone will trick his GT5 to send DLC car, it will be disabled on received PS3 if no such DLC installed.

Can't argue with you there. The Market Place has it way of spreading stuff like wildfire.

@sorg: So I guess this means the other 6 Academy cars will make an appearance as being tradable sooner or later. That will surely make certain people happy that didn't get the car the first time around.

So I can guess that all GT academy cars are going to be out there before too long then?

And I guess someone will have to work a little harder on the other DLC.

But still think that sooner or later it could become possible. But thats my opinion. Just incase anyone asks.:D
Chat soon bye for now.:)

EDIT: Sorg what happens if someone receives a DLC and then installs family upgrade into making there PS3 think they have it?
Think that might be a silly question but you never know and plus if they can send it who knows there could be trick to keep it working and in the garage?

I'm not sure at 100% how >1mil cars are banned from trade on PD servers, but by some evidence i have, cars banned by their ID, not by price.
It means, PD can stop GTA cars trading even without issuing any update. Just put all GTA cars into banned database by couple mouse clicks on their server.
It only depends on how PD are lazy.

 We all know PD are a lazy set off what evers. Just by the scripts they left in the disc.:D

You think they would of done a little clean up on the useless items they left in there? (Disc.)
Hate to see what there bedroom floor looks like.
Chat soon bye for now.:)

I that's what will happen when PD knows about these so called glitch trade, they might be lurking around here checking
They always have there spies on this site. Too many good things come from here and there jealous. (Joke.)
Chat soon bye for now.:)

The easiest thing for PD to do would simply be to ban all users that have one of these unreleased items. That would instantly stop all of that content from spreading.

Look at your log, or a friends – all that info resides on their servers.

Sweet thats one way to look at it.:D  Oh people do make me laugh.
Thats why all other games out there have there god modes and all that garbage going on.:(
Well at least I know I will have a buyer for my PS3. Sorted on that one.👍
Cheers chat soon bye for now.:)

EDIT:
And let me put it another way to you.
Why don,t PD/Sony get off there backside and do something about whats going on?

The disc is copyright protected, The information held within is the property of the aformentioned company.
So with all that in mind I guess a lot of people have some rights too. That includes companies?

__________Carried over from an earlier post I did__________________

Just tried to do a little bit of investigating on this matter regarding whats wrote on the back of the case?
Found a picture that if you click the link it will show the copyrights notice?
http://www.covergalaxy.com/forum/at...292929196-gran-turismo-5-cover-pal-uk-gt5.jpg
So am presuming it would fall into the same catorgory has the information on the disc would be the property of PD/Sony?

Copyright notice is in the bottom left hand corner.

__________
Point am making is I would rather they ban some one for illegal activity than for some getting a virtual car they don,t have?

I honestly don't see this or the finding of Academy prizes ( they are simply going to have an affect in the area of those dong trading) killing the game. Selective distribution of things like the 'Edge' car, GT Academy stuff, releasing half a game, drip feeding of extra content (and yes, even the seasonals which actually bring the content quantity up to where it should have been at the start) and DLC, these things to me will have had a more negative impact on the game's reputation.

With regard to what Sorg has done, is simply find and report on information within the framework of the game itself. He hasn't contravened AUP or, I believe, given out copyrighted aspects of the game. It is just information, not part of the game itself he has put out there.
