So GT Replays is not CG?
No, that's why you can change view/car at your pleasure in real time.

An HD CG replay would weight hundreds of MBs, the rendering alone would probably take hours to complete (depending on the length of the replay) and it would be a mere video file - no interactions whatsoever.

Decrypt - yes (it's just the same save of game as others). Parse data - no. Replay is just a big binary data with unknown structure.

Hello sorg!
Did you just modify the GT5 savegame data to do all your discovery?
I saw you have tested the Lancer SRC with super soft racing tires. The gap with soft RT wasn't so big, but maybe the fact you tried a "underpowered" car reduced this gap compared as a test with a LMP1 or Group C car. Did you try this tires on this kind of car?
Did you try to paint unpaintable premium race car (maybe the type of paint data are différent from standard as the FGT you tried and premium race cars)?

Just for fun, I've stealth model cars, but I added unremouvable parts. Now I'd like to run with its, but without any tuning part. Do you know a solution to remove it, knowing that I can't remove them from my stand.

I'm not saying that the UCD is clever; I'm just saying the system of randomization is clever.

I remember my computing teacher telling me it was impossible to make computers do 'real' random - only 'programmed random'.
I also remember theories amongst GT5 players in the early days that the UCD could be influenced by the races done or cars purchased immediately prior to a UCD visit - having experienced hints of this myself, I was never completely convinced by attempts to disprove these theories.

There are chips in some computers/CPUs generating white noise using some semiconductors effects. So, modern computers can t least get true random data.
But in UCD no random data used at all. It's just function (probably very simple) of PS3 HWID(may be MAC address) and number of in-game day.

old GT5 versions automatically remove/add voucher cars according on presence of downloaded keys. So, that time you could simply delete downloaded keys to get rid of voucher cars, then download keys again to get cars added again in stock condition.
Newer updates don't delete voucher cars, but just mark it with yellow exclamation mark. Car still in garage without key, but you can't use it.
But, if i remember right, you can remove car with this exclamation mark from garage. So, save your gamesave to USB, then delete GT5 game data, update it to latest version again, restore your save, enter GT5 and try to delete cars with exclamation mark you want. Then go to PSN store and re-download DLC/voucher keys. And then when you start GT5, missed DLC/voucher cars will be added again with 0/0/0.

You can only use each given code once, if you're getting any ideas :mischievous:

Yes, but I don't know how often I can download something I've got on the PSN. I heard it was 5, but on 5 different PS3, or over all. If I delete this file to re download it 5' later, will it consume one of its download?

In this article, it is question of activated system. If I understand that, I can re download at infinity on the same system. Did I understood well?

The limit is now 2.

It was changed 18th November 2011.

http://gamethingdaily.com/2011/11/05/sony-limits-psn-downloads-to-two-devices/

Anything purchased before this date will still have the 5 limit, anything after this date has the 2 limit.

It's limited to how many consoles you can download it. Now it's limited to 2 consoles, but there is no limit how many times you can download on these 2 consoles. 10, 20, 1000, 10000 times - no limit.

And by the way, although it's limited to 2 consoles, you may deactivate your PSN account on these consoles and transfer to other 2 consoles. So, it's not bound to 2 originally chosen consoles forever.

So GT Replays is not CG?

It's like "midi" file compared to "wav" or "mp3" if you know what I mean. It's stored "game engine commands" (input controls, AI behavior, etc). Compared to pure video data. And it has its own advantages for example: if you know HOW data is stored you can change it and make "perfect lap" or anything you want. It's also can be compatible with other game revisions and you can see for example same replay but with updated sound/visual engine in future versions. All that without changing the file. Also it has very small size. Disadvantage is simple and logical - you need game engine to run it :)

Sorry if late! Okay very late...

Thx for the explanation! But as I would have to re download 11Go of updates if I thy to delete all the game data, I think that it will be easier to create a new PSN acount on my PS3!

Tomorrow, we will get the 2.10 uptade, but it seems PoDi will not add some Sorg's discoveries... Bad luck, you'll stay the only one to be able to test all the GT5 fonctions!

I'm probably late on this but I think that there are no more discoveries left to be made with GT5.
