Got the Ford Focus GR.B Rally Car hehe!

Well the whole time limited demo begins next week on Monday, so best bet is to wait next week Monday night after 8pm.
How do you know what car you get? Currently on rest mode downloading will be done in a couple hours.

I was rewarded my first car. Guess what? GTR (Rally version) ;). For those who were part of the beta from day one: welcome to the red ant swarm.
After downloading just relax and watched the intro of scapes and some in game race. Drooling in optima forma in 4k/HDR

Nor in the U.S. store.
If I read the news correctly it will be available for you Eric at 11am, for me at 0800. We'll be just finishing our Geezer races around that time so switching over to the PS4 and off we go. Joining others to see just how well the PD/PS servers handle thousands hitting their tab to download the demo at once. Should be interesting but we're sure they've anticipated the HIT!

I know but 30 hours downloading,:( i think i might even have a monthly cap anyway, never tried downloading anything that big before:crazy:, and cant you play it untill about midday monday aswell, bummer, at work..Oh well wait till the 18th then..

I got lucky when I signed up to our fibre as it was 100meg minimum guaranteed and truly unlimited downloads. Mind you, packages now go up to 250meg guaranteed and something like 750GB per month download limit which is fine. I stream a lot of media and only ever use 400GB max in any given month anyway. I haven’t bothered upgrading because even at just 100meg you are largely throttled by the sources themselves.

Just checked and it must have hat a bit of a go-slow because it still has 45minutes left.

Ok, so I just downloaded the demo and I haven't been in the beta before. I have a standard PS4 (which also supports HDR) and a Sony KD-55XD8599 (or XBR-X850D is the US type nr, anyway it's a 4K HDR capable LED TV) and it does a pretty good job at HDR.

So I fired up the demo and waited till the screensaver kicked in. Now, the problem is, I can't figure out if I've been dreaming or if this is real, because those videos looked so jaw-dropping realistic I can hardly believe they weren't pre-rendered... Can anyone confirm that these video's weren't pre-rendered? Cause if they 'are' indeed rendered in real time, I can't believe my eyes... and I can't wait for what's to come.

Somewhere on these forums earlier I said that Uncharted 4 was the game with the best looking graphics ever and I had yet to see a better looking game.
Well, this goes way beyond Uncharted 4... I could even fool myself into thinking there were real cars being filmed somewhere and appearing on my TV...

Also you might think: "but you've most probably seen YouTube videos of the game right?". Well yeah, but YouTube compresses videos and does not support HDR as far as I know.
I really can't compare the actual game footage to anything I've seen on YouTube, no compression on the video and HDR enabled makes a world of difference.

Running this on my 1080p monitor, should I pick Quality or Framerate? (on PS4 Pro)

I want the supersampling but how big is the hit on performance? The framerate one does say that the image quality is still better than base PS4, does it downsample from a lower resolution then? Doesn't seem like it should be that bad, in the replays and screensavers I'm getting a solid 60 FPS for the most part.

EDIT: Also, can't connect to the server sadly, says it's under maintenance. Anyone having the same issue?

Might hook up my Pro to my 4K HDR TV downstairs and see how it looks, probably even more mindblowing haha

So, 11 am Eastern?

I thought my previous estimate on time of release was accurate according t the GMT 0900 indicated.

Did the time move?

Edit: yeah, I just checked, 0900 GMT is 5 am EST...it should be available now but it isn't. Stinks because I will not be home for a few how's this morning/afternoon to start it.

I believe the demo starts 09 AM GMT, in the Netherlands it starts at 11 AM, so UK must be 10 AM

edit: on October 9 that is.

My different accounts get different cars, and I always seem to get the same car on each account when I delete the save and start again:

AU - Ford Mustang
GB - Nissan GTR
US - Audi Quattro
JP - Hyundai Genesis
HK - Hyundai Genesis

Setting the PS4 clock to the 10th makes no difference... so @Scaff I'm a failed time traveller.

Graphics and sound are far superior to the Youtube video's I've watched, most notably track detail and since I set the dark and light tones and exposure to what works on my TV the issues around the interior being shaded and having no detail are non existent.

Holy moly, I just hooked up my Pro to my 4K TV and Jesus Christ, this looks unbelievable. You really do have to see it to believe it. I had to turn on Dynamic Contrast because the LG’s HDR Game Mode is pretty dim, but that contrast has helped a ton. Looks awesome now. Without setting it to Game Mode, you get quite a bit of input lag.

Yeah it does look really great with HDR, already seen it in the closed beta but it's gotten so much better in this version now. But if you have your TV and PS4 set correctly you shouldn't need dynamic contrast to get a better image, so you may want to take a look at that. :P I had the same thing, where I needed dynamic contrast but some settings on my PS4 were not right. Looks best for me now without dynamic contrast while game mode is on. Check your video output information, if it says anything other than YUV422(HDR) while having the demo open then it's not set correctly.
