Spec II - Master licences

For the life of me I can't do that Celica one or the 962 at Nurbs.

I just don't understand what's missing. Usually I can spot where I'm losing time or could gain time but these 2 šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø
I hate the Nurgurgring Nordschleife, and never play it for practice. But I found that test surprisingly not as difficult as I thought. The 962 has a surprisingly high amount of grip and traction, and you can push it surprisingly hard and it will just do what you want.

Super licenses gold are done. The snow lap at Lake Louise took the longest at 1.2 hours and using the controller instead of my normal wheel. My tip for the snow tests are to drive correct line (same as the demo) rather than trying to maximize the car speed on the straights and brake late.

All the others were gold in less than 5 laps, basically get used to the handling of the car. I spend at least 10 laps in qualifying for online sport races or the time trials so these license tests are far easier.
That one took me a good 2-3 hours. It took me longer to get gold than the other 9 S tests combined. I did the same as you and switched to the controller instead of the wheel and found that easier.

Yeah, the snow tests seem to be a pain to me. I guess i'll have to keep studying the demo's ghosts driving and braking points on the track.

Finally golded the Peugeot 205 Snow Track, what a headache.
The 205 has a weird differential(?) characteristic where the car refuses to rotate while holding the gas. What worked for me was intermittently tapping and letting off the gas to convince the car to rotate.
S-5 brought me back nightmares of doing the drift missions

I was bashing my head over IA-9 for about an hour until I saw the reply from @SteelPantha in here that reminded me torque split exists in the driver UI. Instantly shaved off two seconds on my first try for an easy gold. It was laughable how much of a difference it made.
Woo hoo! So glad it helped you - sometimes changing one setting makes all the difference!

Yesterday I started S tier with the snow track to get it out of the way quickly and I was there for almost an hour consistently hitting the wall either at first or at the very last corner. The most important thing there is to understand that if you want fast drive through a corner (especially the first one) you need to keep the car quite straight, going there fast and drifting with huge angle is not the way. Interestingly enough I quite enjoyed driving in the snow on wheel (T-GT II). I then did 2 other licences, Porsche on autocross circuit and Red Bull ring, both took me 2 tries so I guess that the snow one probably is the hardest part of the whole new master licence.

A little bit of progress managed to get gold in IA9 and move from Bronze to Silver in IA10 Test.

Might crack on with the S licences now and come back to IA10 in a few days.

Manual transmission and tcs0 will do the job.
The demo ghost might look unreachable but its actually not that great at choosing the right gear for the right moment.
The secret to beating s10 is shifting.
Funny enough I found that the the 962 in 3rd gear for the first turn I can get 4 car lengths ahead. He beats later on but what a good point!

Yeah. Its not just in s10. Ghost demo drops too many gears in braking in some cases and and takes too long to upshift in others

Master S10 is pretty hard for me. Gold other test no problem even the snow track, but 3 days still not gold for S10 šŸ˜

The lap the demo does in S10 is actually not great. Its first sector in particular is quite slow. The second sector is decent. But it's the third sector where the demo is really good. The fourth sector is really just the chicane, as 130R is easily flat. So just focus on nailing the first sector and at least match the second sector, so it makes up for you likely losing a bit in the third sector. For the final chicane, make sure you brake as late as you can, as you can lose a surprising amount of time if you brake too early.

For S-10 I recalled the transmission trick that everyone used in the time trial a while back. Same car and track. Pretty much exit out of the chicane and hairpin in third gear and quickly double shift into fifth to skip fourth gear. You will gain a huge amount on the ghost down the straights.

Same for the back straight. Exit spoon in fourth gear and then skip fifth into sixth gear.

Quick question or two: Are you using a controller or a wheel? If a wheel, are you using paddle shift or a stick shift?

Shifting will definitely help quite a bit.

This.

The snow test and S10 were the only two where I didn't use a stick shift where appropriate (Valkyrie is paddle shift, Civic is stick for example.)

I'm glad I managed to help people with IA-9! I had an awesome time last night and got 6 golds across IA and S licences....fully completed IA to gold and 3 tests on S Licence to gold too. Got a few more tips:

*Note, I play DS3, auto transmission and TCS set to 1 so if I can do it with these settings, so can you!

IA-4 (SLR on Nurb): it's important to take the corners cleanly and where possible, take the inside apex of the corners. For the uphill right-hander, don't brake too much and let the car roll through the corner for greater exit speed. Taking the last corner well and getting on the throttle early makes a big difference. Not too hard at all.

IA-8 (Lambo on Grand Valley): brake early into the corner and try to hug the inside wall of the tunnel. Take a wide line and cut inside a bit later than you think. The key to this one is having great exit speed through the chicane. Full speed after this chicane and ease off the throttle a tiny bit over the bridge and through the final tunnel (you can brake lightly but it'll make you lose more time than easing off the gas). Your time will be heavily influenced by how well you take the chicane after the tunnel.

IA-10 (Porsche on Nurb): this requires a lot of speed and practice but isn't too bad. I'll try and jot down what worked for me....a good tip is to try and avoid hitting the kerbs as the car can bounce around a bit and you lose a few tenths here and there (easier said than done I know).
  • Brake early into the first corner and try to take it smoothly sweeping up the hill
  • full speed down the hill and tap the brake a few times, ease off throttle and coast through right hand corner
  • get on the power and full speed, turn hard into left hander going downhill and this entire section is FULL SPEED
  • tap the brakes a few times before the right hander going uphill and let the car coast for a second or two, brake again and with the slower speed, let the car sweep up through the left hander...try to hit the apex wide
  • brake before the bouncy left hander and try to hug the inside (car might slow down a bit but that's ok), once you're about 60-70% through the corner, full throttle
  • for the right hander going uphill before the last corner, tap the brakes a few times so you get the inside apex and hit throttle hard, ease off a touch so you can hit the inside apex of the final corner and then send it to the finish (feel free to drop TCS to 0 on the straight for a bit more acceleration).

I only beat gold but a few tenths I think but my run wasn't perfect...I know I could've taken 1-2 corners faster. Best of luck!

S Licence:

S-2 (Porsche on Catalunya rally/track circuit): wow, this is a LOT easier than you think! The key is to have TCS set to 0. That's right. I tried and tried with TCS set to 1 and was a second or two slower. Drop it to 0 and copy the Demonstration. This test is less about speed and more about accuracy and taking each corner well by taking the apexes. I absolutely butchered the final corner but got gold by a few tenths. Don't be afraid to hit the throttle hard on straights even with TCS on 0 as the car won't spin out.

S-6 (Porsche Strassenversion, Atlanta).
This car has a tendency to oversteer and slide a bit but it's a decent car with practice.

  • Start off by easing off the power a bit before the lap starts and then hit the throttle through the apex to start the lap with good speed. Brake into the first corner and coast through it before getting on the throttle.
  • Before you see the top of the hill, brake hard and try to take the blind corner on the yellow part (be careful not to cut too hard)
  • For the downhill section, ease off the power on the first right hand corner, hit the apex and get on the gas
  • Brake hard and cut the left hander to get on the wide apex....I think my first sector split was 0:34:200 which isn't quick but good enough for gold
  • full speed to right hander, brake hard and let your speed coast through the corner, brake hard again and take apex before the straight.
  • On the straight, drop TCS to 0 for quicker acceleration
  • Halfway on the straight increase TCS to 2 (I changed it to 2 because on 0 or 1 the car slides too much in the chicane)
  • Brake hard and early into chicane and try to hit the apex, when you're entering the uphill section, drop TCS to 1 and get on the power to get up the hill
  • final corner should be like how you started the lap. Done.

S-9 (Valkyrie on Red Bull Ring).
Recommendation: Change the controller settings so the overtake/boost option is on the Circle button rather than R3 (means it's easier for your thumb to access boost)

The key to this test is abusing the boost button (thanks for the great tip from the above user). Use the overtake/boost option on ALL STRAIGHTS and when exiting corners.

This isn't a very technical track so I'm not going to bother doing a step-by-step corner guide unless someone wants help with a specific corner.

Hope this post helps someone out there...

I use controller and not good with manual transmission.

Got all gold Super Licenseā€¦ It was pretty tough especially S-5 made me almost cry!
Yes, S-5 is the dumb one. Iā€™m skating around it at the moment. That credit free MP4/4 though:

this "master licence" was walk in a park compared to normal ones before..don't think I needed more than hour maybe couple minutes over for gold all of them..
but thank to PD , easy money and easy rewards..
but again now still don't have much left to play the game..

All 50 in an hour? šŸ¤”

Oh šŸ¤£.
S5 is more dificult than s8, so it will just be a matter of time until you gold s8
I already did lol

It's just I ended up hating S-8 so much now. The car turns like a pig for me and sometimes it locks it's wheels, other times it doesn't.

I mean I guess this is skill issue for me.

I wanted to take a break from souls game because I kept dying only to fall into this crap again in a racing game lmao
