I run the PS3 through the capture card on the PC and use the CRT monitor to race. Because the PC is so old I can't use full screen because the quality is so poor, I normally reduce the screen to about 7" max. :sly:

I do the same but I went and got some phono leads in town and cut the ends off the ps3 one's. I then but the new ends on and now I can run it to me t.v and on the pc at the same time.

Put a 10cm thick cushion on that area of the wall and on top of the stereo system.
That way you can throw your controller at the screen without causing any damage :)

Your gonna look like Mr Magoo soon mate ...

Mr.%20Magoo-2.bmp

I already do. :sly:

It appears I'm not so squeaky clean after all, and it's all on video: :sly:

Sweet! That is one cool setup dude and gives it a great cinematic feel:tup:

A piece of advice though; if you get mad then don't chuck the controller at the fish tank:lol::lol::lol:

Thanks

When I get mad, I dip my head in the fish tank to cool off, not the controller :)

Nice setup Hornet, I've got a projector myself but I don't tend to use it for games, it's more of a movie only thing for us.

You are right about one thing though Sphinx: I don't know you very well, which is why I don't just up and trust what you are saying. Now obviously there are certain constrains that lie within this particular event.

One) You are a Super Moderator here at GTP, but that doesn't give you a free ticket to my trust.

Two) I have never raced with you, and besides reading your posts here on the forums I don't know you at all.

Now, I know you don't care about really gaining my trust. But in due time that will happen. I mean really when you first race someone do you really get as close as you can to them? Or do you give them room? I give them room because I don't know who they are, what kind of mood they are, what their skill is, and if they desire to end my chance to win by knocking me off the track.

I think its great you pride yourself on your racing morals, I believe that to be a very desirable trait out there racing. One day I hope to see you out here. Later

I think I speak on behalf of Sphinx when I say he wouldn't want your trust on the basis that he's a Super Moderator on this website (nor would any of us on that basis), which ultimately shouldn't have anything to do with the issue. However, he is the current WRS Steward, and as such, a time-and-time-again proven clean and fast racer, evidenced by his replay submissions in the events, and from having participated in the various GT Board Challenge Events over numerous years. I've been racing with Sphinx for many years now, he was a member of a GT3 Mini racing team with me too. He's always been willing to show evidence of his claims, and as he's stated, hasn't been disputed as unclean in almost a decade of GT racing. He's widely known and respected throughout the GT community across many GT message boards.
We all know accidents in racing, be it online or at a LAN event, happen. :guilty: However, nudging someone accidentally under late-braking is a whole lot removed from deliberately avoiding the brake pedal in order to punt another racer from the track and is unacceptable, as is trying to run a car off the road on the straights and deliberate shortcutting, all of which Thuggles has been seen to attempt in a single race replay.
Whether you know Sphinx well or not, his evidence to back up his claims is out there, Thuggles' is not. It's not up to Sphinx to provide anything else, it's up to you to look it up if you care to, and make up your own mind on that basis. ;)
As an organiser/attendee of various LAN events, I can say for certain that Sphinx would be more than welcome at an SFGTP or UKGTP event, without question. 👍
Thuggles on the other hand, if he drove like that, would be DQ'd immediately, and ejected from further participation. 👎

Exactly! Very strange turn of events here.....looks like a setup to me....in the U.S., it's called entrapment.

Super Moderators aren't gods.

I've never even mentioned my mod status, Oh, and over here, it's called CHEATING :dopey:

Whoa, back up. I should have elaborated on that a bit more. I meant the that he has more respect and trust than most because he is a Mod here. Being a moderator commands one to have those kinds of qualities. But it doesn't change the fact that I feel a little skeptical.

But I feel everyone here. Yeah he is probably a good guy and does everything he says he does. But that still don't mean thing to me, not until I have race him. :) Hope to see you out there!

What's called cheating.....what you did to video this guy's 'dirty' run?

Just wondering. LOL

I exposed a cheat. I've exposed many cheats in the past ten years. I will continue exposing cheats for as long as I'm racing GT.

Talk about shooting the messenger.

What time is it in England right now? About 4:36 am? Can't sleep? Are you always up at this time, or is something worrying you? Get some rest...you seem to need it.

I've just spent the whole night racing you guys across the pond. I finished racing about 1 hour ago. I actually met some good drivers, GTP_VanHelzer for one, a very good driver.

Anything else you would like to know?

Edit:

Come on, guys, is that all you can throw at me.

Super Moderators aren't gods.

Nobody has ever tried to imply that either.

The point, which I made in my previous post, is not whether Sphinx is a moderator or not, but if he's a clean racer or not.
On the evidence we're seeing here, the evidence he's provided time and time again in the WRS and the evidence he will undoubtably provide in the future to continue to support his online racing reputation, it's fairly clear that his reputation has been deservedly earned.
You should also bear in mind that Sphinx was originally made a moderator in order to organise the WRS events, something which take up a staggering amount of personal time and are appreciated by a great many members at GT Planet. 👍
Super Moderator status was given to an existing moderator in anticipation of an influx of new members and the inevitable poor posts and flamings that go with them, until everyone gets to know the rules of this site properly.

That's obviously some definition of the word "cheating" that the rest of the world was previously unaware of.

What time is it in England right now? About 4:36 am? Can't sleep? Are you always up at this time, or is something worrying you? Get some rest...you seem to need it.

That's absolutely none of your business.
What are you implying here?
Think very carefully before you answer that. ;)

When I read what you are writing here, it's readily apparent that you are not calling out the facts at all. This is just a great example of attempting to provoke a response. You are calling into the question the fact that Sphinx has a setup that he can use to create and share video replays that many (Including myself) have found very useful over the years. In this case, the replay showed a great example of the single biggest issue with racing online in GT5P, namely idiots who lack consideration for others and lack the skill to actually compete. It also showed a great example of smooth and controlled driving on the part of Sphinx, despite all of the morons racing around him and trying to run him off the track.

You are also questioning the time of day that Sphinx chooses to create posts on GT Planet or race online in GT5P? Did you even stop to think that between running the WRS, initiating the official GTP PSN registry and looking through the forums for silly threads such as the one that started all of this mess, that might be the only time he has left to race for fun or browse the forums?

What a complete waste of space this thread is becoming, with idiots asking for Thuggles' "side of the story", people trying to surgically deconstruct Sphinx's racing style, not to mention all of the off topic idiot comments and slaps on the back in regard to other idiot comments. :grumpy:

Thuggles signed up for GTP yesterday, started this thread nearly 30 hours ago with his first post on GTP, and has yet to post since. If he really had any evidence to back himself up, don't you think he would have been back by now? I for one think he ran off like the coward he proved himself to be out on the track.

It might just be time to shut this one down. 👍

Brilliant, absolutely brilliant Sphinx, but I'm bummed that no one has mentioned the music you selected for the video, pure class! 👍

You mean the "I am driving in my car" song? I quoted the lyrics! Great song, very funny, suits the vid.
