:gtpflag: OLE's B.A.D. Tournament Details :gtpflag:

if you have clicked on the link in my signature....
you are serious about the Bracket of Death Tournament...
I will not have told you to click on this link recently
There is not a tournament underway to where you would be looking at this page for any reason
if you are viewing these event notes you are likely in the minority
and could be picking up a slight advantage....

Round II of the B.A.D. Tournament and it's details
are not being published until after Feb 18 as to
not interfere with another event...

What details I can share are
you will need 2 cars...
the Miata Roadster Touring Car
and the RX7 Touring Car

There will be no other cars for this challenge other than cars YOU prepare and drive.
those 2 cars....

If you want to begin building and preparing these cars...
that may be wise!!!

BAD II is less than 1 week away!!!!!
will you be prepared!?!?!?!

Awww. On second glance, rmts_kingdom is right. :dunce:
Why the hand braking is located so high? 👍

Because after they took the 'drink holder' () out it just seemed like the ideal place to put it.
Yes and the less your hand has to travel while racing like the paddles now a days lol

:gtpflag: OFFICIAL UNOFFICIAL 'EVENT' ANNOUNCEMENT :gtpflag:

OLE's S.A.C. HEADS-UP TOURNAMENT OF DEATH!!!

yes yes, very dramatic I know... But I feel I needed a headline to mirror
the dramatic action we will all soon be a part of...

In the spirit of the new NCAA College Football Playoff system this year...
and with NFL Football playoffs in full swing...
I will be organizing a "head's up" bracket challenge.
So we will have something of a playoff of our own.

this event will run separate from any casual events, grand events or main events and will
kinda run between participants "in the background" with no set event dates or nights...
just whenever participants can arrange to get together to complete their races...

more event details will come shortly - but I wanted to plant the seed and start getting an entry list together

we will have a bracket set up that will look like this

View attachment 289137
GENERAL EVENT DETAILS:
There will be 16 drivers
Each driver will be randomly placed in a group with 4 other racers
4 races will take place between these groups of 4 with the top 2 positions advancing to the next round.
The bottom 2 will be out of the bracket of death (thus the title)

Round two will again be a battle of the top two racers from Round one - so 2 groups of 4 racers - The Elite 8
The top two racers from each of those 2 races will advance to Round 3 - again a 4 person race - The Final 4
The top 2 racers will then be placed in a championship heads up battle to happen during a casual night for all to watch.

More details to follow as to what cars will be used for each round
and which tracks
The first 15 people to LIKE this post will be entered in the
OLE'S BRACKET OF DEATH CHALLENGE

(entry will require an ability and desire to coordinate with other racers in your group in a somewhat reasonable amount of time)

Cliff notes Alex:
4 groups of 4 (16 racers)
top 2 from each 4person race advances (narrows field down to 8 racers)
(There will then be 2 groups of 4 racers) The top two from those 2 groupings will advance getting us down to the final 4
The top 2 racers from that last 4 person race will then be in the heads up championship

tracks and cars to be announced

HINT 1
(people may want to revisit the tracks from this year's GT Academy)

I've liked the post because I'm interested & I'll have good availability in February. March becomes a problem for me but if it's a knockout format I'll be done by then anyway.

I know this is thinking a bit too much ahead but you could have an ultimate tournament of death with all the past winners once you do enough of them. I'm very much in this once it starts.

yes this first round shall be a test
once we see how easy it is or difficult for folks to coordinate with each other for their individual races
then we can tweak it...

perhaps the next one will be just straight up one on one as I originally had planned

perhaps we can do a time trial bracket etc...

something for people to do while they are patiently watching the calendar waiting for Thursday nights!!!

Ole
hey there
Ole here...
I'm not dead... I'm still in route to Daytona
Should be there late today or tomorrow or the next day...
I met some girls that are going to "show me around the USC campus"

I know everyone is probably talking behind my back about why I would dump Team Corvette after they showered me with my own limited edition of the 2015 C7 for personal use....

Well, I got wind of what the new Ford GT will look like, and lets be honest... I'd rather have me one of them!!!
See you jokers in a few days!!
Ole / Team Vodka OUT!

Team Vodka Official driver statement:
again according to our driver agreement we are required to deliver any pre-race statements from our driver the week of race week. Having said that we are enthusiastic to once again bring you more wisdom from a small part of our team.

"those BMWs sounds like crap... You all think your hour long training session yesterday was a good idea...
well heads up - you will need to see if you can listen to that thing for 2 hours not just 1...
I predict a lot of DNFs from the BMW people because they quit because the sound of their car drove them insane.
And I know you couldn't afford the CD player option... cause its a BMW... so its not like you can make a playlist of sweet American muscle"
that is all
oh wait....
one more thing
whhhhoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooosh
for 2 hours
good luck!!!!!"

Thank you to our driver for these wonderful insights on how others should feel and think
Again, we appreciate our loyal and well entertained fan base.

~Team Vodka

Just a heads up for the guys who are in my Spec Championship, or may want to be, the room is up and will hopefully go racing in half an hour. You can FR me or search Spec Touring in the club searcher with all countries selected and it will show up as the only one.

Count me in.

So, you all probably remember coltsjugg who I brought to casual night last thursday. The guy is a budding alien I tell ya. He'll usually take on risky passing maneuvers and crash himself and a lot of times the other person with him, however tonight in the shortened Spec night the tides changed. Have a look at this, up for the award of ballsiest pass of the year I might add, the move he put on me. I am absolutely astounded by this guy now, he is on the way up this Gran Turismo ladder.

What a move! colt, whether you see this or not, I salute you for this pass.
Video coming to Youtube soon hopefully.

In other news, a new team is emerging at SAC.

Hailing from a quiet town south of Boston, OB Racing promises to provide red-hot battling in the Casual Nights and full-blown racing, regardless of racing position.
The lead driver is none other than Obelisk, best known for his alien-mobile, the Chaparral 2J "Beast" as seen below:

(thanks kingdom!)

With this announcement, OB Racing has another piece of news: A brand new, sparkly red Ford Taurus SHO.

But wait, you might ask, isn't that a bad car?
The answer? Yes and no.
It doesn't corner well yet, as OB has been too busy to fine-tune the suspension but yet somehow it has 410 HP and only weighs 1200 kilos, and is capable of 180-190 MPH.

And that is all the news for now.

Do we have the final official list of participants / vehicles for Thursday...

I'd love to see what everyone is going to be driving...

LR_LR_BASTART / Team Vodka will be driving the white #3 Ford GT
