:gtpflag:I remember when i join the club and read something on the forum. (TJGER):gtpflag:
Casual night: quick brief (3-5 laps) around the circuit that members vote on. All AIDS available. also mixed in a few special races (ie one make model, one special manufacture, region or karts. that's just a car show, road cars, race cars all together and have fun.
Main events: short races (10 laps) around predefined tracks in effort to replicate a type of series. All AIDS available, like Tour of Japan, Tour on Europe, The Original 500, 5 races around the circuit. Those are for members who interested in a little more seriousness. Races car can be used in main event like Tour of Japan GT300.
Grand events: Those are for the hard core members. They can range from one to two hours in length. they offer taste of what really happens in the real world. they're designed to make you sweat, hold your bodily fluids. most importantly, make you think. how fast can I go on the limits I have? Fuel/tire/car, the competition all must be factored in. They are
intended to make you experience what the BIG boys go through.

Do you want the short (Casual) race. Medium (Main). Or long (Grand) race?

thank you for digging out this post Mazda!!! 👍👍👍

besides having fun, I'll say "Go Big or go home~~~":lol:

I love our casual nights as is...

In general I prefer races of some length just to let the field sort out and at least have time to advance through a field...
I find for our casual nights 5 laps is fun and fine and low stress and other than throwing in a specialty race - I think its perfect and we all LOVE casual night.

I feel that anything in the 10lap range does not promote OPTIMIZING a tune and spending tons of time preparing... Which those races are fun and fine... but some events have been 5 courses and different cars available... Some of us don't have the time that others have to set up cars for 5 different tracks and tune 5 different cars... and learn those cars and learn those tracks... I find this structure somewhat uneven between those that have monster amounts of time to prep and those that want to be a part of the action. These events are less desirable to me...

but I think what we all get excited about is a main event that is of some length - 1hr to 2hrs (the longer the better for me) and then figuring out a way to get our special car we were given or that we chose and then getting that time down from 1:46.449 on vehicle selection day down to 1:40.229 on race day!!

I love that... its also fun to have those cars in our garage for future use as cars that got our FULL attention to make as good as we could... and I love the variety to have a garage full of different classes of those cars that we maxed out... It forces you to get the best out of every car.
As much as I would prefer a DRIVING challenge over a TUNING challenge... These events have challenged me and are what I enjoy most about our group!

true, when we have a main event with multiple tracks and cars, we can use different cars in different tracks.

But it is an option.

You may use 5 different cars or you may stick with 1 car.

For myself, I always stick with 1 car, unless the difference on the laptime is very significant, but 2 is the max.

Like you said, it will take too much time to tune 5 cars for 5 track, thus I just stick with 1 car with different tunes for the different track.

Therefore, it's your choice to choose you want to use 5 cars, or just simply 1 car :)

I'll skip over the DTM race tonight as I'll be testing for a serious tournament in STTR and another theme, as well as getting a DeLorean for one of Jocke's events.

I wish all of you the best of luck in the DTM sprint!

Edit: If you need a motivator for going faster, just pretend I'm chasing you in the 2J.

Is it too late to sign up for the race in January?

no, still have a month to go, never too late...

if possible, participate the next week event too, one make race on Renault Trophy Race car, no tuning allowed, just plan driving skills!!! 👍👍

I'm 2 sec off of the lap pace in my 4wd car. I benefited from the boost being on last race. I won't be a contender but i just enjoy racing.

maybe you can change you car, since it's not a point series race anymore.

I'll just stick to the same car. I dont want to mess anything up, plus I thought this was a point race.

I was a fill-in for the last DTM race, I'm willing to fill-in again if needed. Just let me know
Im pretty sure u could race again tonight, ob said he wasnt racing so there is atleast 1 spot to fill. Not my call to make but im sure everyone would love for u to race!

Yeah, won't be a problem. You were in the last one, and more than a few people won't make it. So there should be plenty of room. See you guys tonight!

F#@% me, once again life play me like a full, I'm. Out of the DTM again, family coming over and guess who has to pick them up? I've been waiting for this rerun for weeks now and I was looking forward to race the Lotus but won't be able to, I hope they bring me a good present to make up for this.
So good luck everyone and may the mighty podium be with you.
