So now there are other cars other than the ones we had approved? and now up to 700pp??
What is the reason for this last minute change?? I thought as of last night most everyone was pretty set with the cars they had been working on....
or maybe I'm not reading something right ??

WAIT, WAIT, WAIT!!!

Another change in the rules? When is 6 Days away?! :indiff:

I was really excited for it when it was 620PP with 620HP The weight Restriction, Strong Penalties, Gas consumption & Tire Wear. It gave me this excitement cause ALL of us had to tune our favorite car to the Regulations we where given and i am sure we put Hours of tuning cause we knew the TEAM was gonna be doing the same.
I had already made plans on when to pit for gas and how much gas was needed to keep my Corvette Light and FAST I was excited cause it was an "EVENT" :mischievous:

:grumpy: NOW is just A Casual Fun Race with LeMan cars racing for an HR with no rules :grumpy:

:( Sorry team i guess it got me upset cause i did a lot and spend hrs on laps and tuning with the regulations and now all of that work was for nothing :(

Hmm that is weird why should they do that.
I have tuned the zr1 for the old regulations and got a 3:46:xx out of it. With shortshifting so i could get to 5 laps out of the fuel.
Also team Nissan could drive the GTR or something. Cars should be at least almost the same. No point in running a delta wing vs gt3 cars thing is a million times faster in the corners and on the straight as well. No competiton and draft races to be seen here. Le mans cars are so uneven with basic specs and only a pp limit. I drove all the cars from the old rules and they were in 4 sec or so which is pretty close. With some benefits to the LM cars like in top speed and handling and consistency for the gt3s.

The LMP will spread out to atleast 15sek. That is no fun:tdown:👎

Also no Qualifing is pretty stupid. With this spec. A LMP Starting from the back of the field will still be in front before the first corner. Especially when you drive with such driffent cars it makes sense to run a qualifing so the slower cars can fight together from the beginnig at the back of the field and not like "Hey I'm a GT3 on p1 and my enemys are in the last row. Nice now they cant draft me in the the first round! Great!"

I see everything is different now. Why no tire change. So everyone runs the same Strategy? Then we can drive for 3 rounds and see who is fastest and give him the trophy. I dont get it please explain why the complete rulings are changed just 6 days before the event?

My Summery for this is:

-It wont be as close as the old rules--->less fun
-There wont be any sort of Startegy involved--->more predictable--->less fun
-The best car wins--->So everyone will drive it or the best car wins not the best driver
-Starting grid will be completly random
-Testing was a complete waste of time (It wasnt that much because everycar is setuped the same way low downforce and transmision near to top speed and then some tweaks in the suspension to get rid off over or understeer Racing Softs and go)
Not like you are finding 5 sek in your setup.

And it doesnt make sense the corvette zr-1 was my second fastest car after the first rules.
And a Delta Wing is an LMP car and is not allowed but there plenty of other Nissans you can run.

I can't imagine why this change woulda happened.... So I think something musta got goofed up and it's not a correct post - (like maybe he copy and pasted the event details from a post prior to us all agreeing on our pp,hp,weight restrictions)
I haven't heard anyone request this change on the forum or in our practice sessions recently.... Maybe a comment here or there on tire compounds but nothing about someone going back to 2-3weeks ago when we were discussing LMP cars...

So I'm still holding out hope that something was posted inaccurately....
Regardless of what spaceship others run - I will be running my FordGT that I've worked hard on and running it at 620pp 620hp...

But let's not lose hope - it may be mistake....
.....Just in case it's not, I'm going to go tune my lunar rover in case we change plans again Wednesday to a one make race.....

But I'm guessing it's a vodka based error

Wow, here we go again.
The changes came about from feedback from you guys.
I spent six weeks trying to squeeze 24 hours of Lemans into one hour. What was I thinking? :banghead:
I tried weather. No. I thought about an early morning start with a fast time progression to the finish. No
I thought about tire and fuel at very fast. No Ok, how about Fast. No, how about normal? I thought maybe, maybe, maybe, split the field. 8 LMP 1 cars and eight LMGTS. No
I spent six weeks trying to put together a one hour version of the 24 hours of Lemans. I consulted other race organizers and got the same warning. It isn't going to work.
I spent six million credits purchasing the cars. Three million credits trying to make the Vipers competitive. What was I thinking? :banghead:

The final straw was receiving a message that these new PP numbers would swing the advantage to the Vipers. 🤬

💡 ADDED: The plan has always been. I come up with these races and the plan is presented to the BOSS for final approval. Once approved I will post it. This time in an effort not to bother the BOSS on vacation I decided to try something.:dunce: I'll post the preliminary announcement sheet early enough so anyone can voice their concerns. page 18 post 525. Between May 26 and June 4 no one had an issue.

Again what was I thinking by trying to squeeze as much of what makes Lemans special into one hour. :banghead: If there's anyone I should be mad at it's me.

So the plan is now. Everyone show up Thursday night and you guys decide want you want to do.
My girls packed up the Vipers late Friday night and we just finished unloading them.

My team owner has made it specifically clear.
The McCarthy Racing Team will not compete at Lemans.

I will spent the next six weeks trying to put together a ballot sheet.
One proposal I may present to the BOSS is....

Main Events will be one make cars only.
12 laps MAX.
Settings will all be Arcade/Easy.

So until this ballot is finished. All Main Events are on hold.

Also as race organizer I will not race on main event nights only Casual Nights.

The keys to the Lemans track are under the door mat gate 5.

Cong rates to the podium finishers.

Tjger, I think you may be taking this the wrong way and getting some negative where there is none. It is my understanding that everyone in the group really enjoys what you originally had and was really looking forward to the new race coming up. I think there is confusion in why the changes were made when you had something good going all along. The only comment I noticed at all was whether or not we should have a tire compound change. Me personally, I could go either way regarding the tires and typically will go with whatever you come up with as the organizer. So far I think you've put together some great races and that INCLUDES what you originally had for this one. I think we all know that you put lots of time into organizing these and that includes consulting with other GTP members for info to put together a nice event.
So having said that, I propose we go back to what you originally had and worked hard on. Too many people have really spent time and money (including yourself of course) on getting their cars just right for the 620PP race. I would also suggest that for future "events" you propose your event to the group and allow 3 days for possible feedback. The only thing I'm saying here is that although you do put in lots of time and effort putting it together, you just never know when someone else has a good idea that you just never may have thought of or possibly even knew was an option. Of course the group would need to know that any comments would need to be within the range of what was already stated. So if you suggest 50 laps of Tokyo in GT300 class, a comment of 5 laps around the Ring in racing Karts wouldn't quite be reasonable.
So does that sound reasonable? I hope so and would hate to lose you as you do have a knack for getting these things done and pretty much done right. As far as the casuals, I wouldn't change a thing.
So go ahead and read this twice, take a nap and sleep on it for a bit, have a sip of vodka and get back to me/the group with your thoughts. I think this sounds fair for everyone.

tjger don't feel unappreciated...

From the starting idea and all the feedback we ALL gave and tweaks here and there - this event has been super exciting for everyone to plan for... I get that it was probably frustrating to juggle everyone's wishes, and we all should recognize that we may have had too many cooks in the kitchen trying to talk outloud about ideas that could be fun. I guarentee that everyone was just trying to help even take some of the decisions off your plate to "help"... None of it was cause we thought it was being set up ****tty on your end... Just the opposite - we were all excited to chime in with ideas to help.

Having said that... I do feel like our suggestions should have limits and once an event is set if we're not happy we can climb inside the bottle and sulk or just sit one out... Because I certainly wouldn't want anyone to feel under appreciated

I certainly hope to see a posted picture of tjger smiling with a shot of vodka after his nap and change that event back to what it was!!

We are all happy with the way it was set up!! In a way if it does suck we learn something from it and make the next one better....

But I got a high mileage 620pp 619hp 1250kg FordGT that's hungry and ready to eat and it's already in route to the track... Just someone tell me how many tires and I'll pick some up on the way to the track!!!

Hey tjger sorry if we made you upset :guilty:

You have been putting AMAZING casual night races and i am sure it takes you a long time to think about them. You take the time to create a sheet of the events with PP limits and even the Popular ONE MAKE RACES. The European world tour was a really good "event" , the Japanese street cars only was a good "event" and the original LeMans "event" will be a GREAT one!!

It wasn't just the TEAM of great racers that SAC has that made me join... it was the creativity of the race events that captivated me!! I have never enjoyed playing with all of you and all the races that tjger puts together as well

Don't get the wrong idea Tjger... We just LOVE you original idea better for the LeMans Event :gtpflag:

:cheers::cheers::cheers::cheers::cheers::cheers::cheers::cheers::cheers::cheers::cheers::cheers::cheers:

Well team on Post #703 our friend Tjger posted this : "Everyone show up Thursday night and you guys decide want you want to do"

NOW! the question is.... What are we going to do? Should we go with the Original 620/620/1250 with the original regulations?

I asked at work to have the 12th off so please team lets make it happen!!!! :gtpflag:

Yes we're all running
620hp/620pp/1250kg
Fuel on fast - Most will likely plan on 2pits
Stick to any one tire compound combo - change if you want but not required.
1 hour - if lead car is out you must finish the lap the leader is on.
Approved cars only - see previous post for the list.
Practice / qualifying / race times all as has been set...

I think anything OTHER than this and people weren't going to race... So this was the plan...
This is the plan that 99% of us are committed to...
This i say should stay the plan...

As they say - There is no crying in video game online racing

It's a shame if you don't race tjger

I'm getting so confused and I haven't even gotten a car yet for the event. So here's how it's going down. Everyone (except me), and I mean everyone has spent considerable resources getting their cars tuned just right or even just acquiring that special car for the 620/620/1250 Lemans. On the 12th we will be running these numbers. Basically as Ole' has stated above. My room will be set with these numbers so be prepared (kinda silly as you all already are).
I would hope to see Tjger there as I'm sure we all would as this is his brainchild. Besides, if he's not, who will represent the Vipers.
