Not a McLaren track but i think i should have gotten 4th... had more pace than trevonick i think, but made 3 mistakes that costed me around 4.5 seconds, all of them a result of my sisters shouting somewhere im my house. Without those, i would have been less than a second after 3rd, which makes today's result a bit disappointing... still, next week will be better and after that its 4 handling tracks that will suit my car very nicely... hope to get some good results then.
PS: It will be a great fight for 2nd overall in the championship. 0.3 seconds between 2nd and 7th in quali! Very close field, and i expect very mixed results for everyone throughout the season, as we go to different kinds of tracks that will suit different cars.

I'm really sorry for T1 chaos guys, I was braking way too hard because I misjudged how early I had to brake with cold tyres and I managed to put my left wheels on the grass which started me sliding sideways across the track. I bumped Guido so he had to go off straight ahead and got reset, and collected robbybass on my journey across the track and he got a head-scratcher of a 3s penalty for contact I guess even though I was the one out of control going into him.

By that point I was completely out of control and was just keeping the wheel centered and the brakes locked to avoid spinning and causing more chaos. Once the car was under control I stayed to the right and off the racing line and ended up going into the gravel on the outside to wait for everyone to pass before rejoining the track. Looking at the replay it looks like things could've gone okay had I not gone onto the grass because then I could've straight-lined it into the runoff, but with the car in a four-wheel drift that went out the window.

Again, really sorry guys!

All good, mate. It can happen...
Sorry @Raptor013 for the contact at the second chicane. :embarrassed:

Well that was different. Finally a race where I suck, but not totally . For more than half the race, I wasn't last :scared:. Sorry @Raptor013 for knocking you wide at the final corner of the track.. It was a situation that I wasn't used to...being close enough to anyone in these races *to* hit them  ! I did back off and hold position behind you so you hit the strait in front still :embarrassed:.

I was pretty pleased with myself. I had a 6+ second gap in front of @Autograss_Mad and seemed to be holding. I got all excited about passing @Raptor013 on the way to the final corner, then discovered the draft had me going faster that I would have liked , then "OHCRAPOHCRAPOHCRP!!!" I had the brakes on, but I wasn't stopping. I sailed into the sand and both @Raptor013 and @Autograss_Mad went sailing past, putting me back in last place. I then watched the gap to @Autograss_Mad slowly creep away lap by lap .

Big thanks to @paoloevans for organising this 👍👍 And looking forward to the video from @Raptor013 - its awesome that you do those man

I didn't feel well today, and pretty tired too which meant I made a few annoying early errors getting myself a 3.5 second shortcut penalty and just a good few ragged mistakes like going deep into corners etc, the Vette was strong around monza though and I managed to save fuel in the first stint to get to lap 12 and then have low fuel and fresh tyres to really push at the end.

I think the tracks coming up will suit a few of the other cars more than Monza did/not suit the C7 quite as much so there should be some good racing to be had

Congratulations @Spinerkopin @SRT DK Racing on the podiums, and also to the Silver cup P1

Looking forward to racing at Spa with you all 👍

My POV of today's race:

Not much of a race on my end after ending up in the sand at Ascari on lap 1, after that it was all damage control and trying not to run people over. It's a shame, because I was slowly catching up to PTlobo, if only the race had been about 10 laps longer we could have had a decent race.

Ah well, what a race...
Thx first to @paoloevans for organizing this event, it was well done and much anticipated. Also congrats to the overall and Pro podium @Philtaylor17, @Spinerkopin & @SRT DK Racing - I was nowhere near that podium, but I did not expect that, both regarding my GTI and my driving abilities.
I had hoped for ending up somehwere around place 6 or 7 and was on my way there when I went a teeny weeny bit wide at Lesmo and spun... but from the beginning.
Regarding the start, there was nothing much I could do when @kungtotte_ hid me in his sliding Vette, however, I had a close look at the replay and have to say and admit that I have doubts that I would have made the corner in a orderly fashion either. I was really late on the brakes and kinda just got lucky that @kungtotte_ simply was the first to get out of shape. So, I got away lucky this time but I'll have to be more cautios and sorry for that. Also sorry for @GTP_Guido who was innocent and got robbed of his Silver Cup pole in the incident.
Afterwards I had a tangle with @paoloevans at the second chicane on lap two, sorry paolo, I did not expect you too come up from that far behind.
After all that I settled into a kinda decent rythmn and was on a good pace. The recovering @Drex124 jumped me in the pits (note - the Aston is both über fast and über fuel saving against my thirsty and rather proletarian GTI). Than, on lap 11, I hid the green stuff on the outside of Lesmo 2 in a very minuscle way with my left rear wheel, but it was enough to sent me into a spin. Gutted, I tried to recvoer some ground and actually was able to come back up to 8th at least to only hit the same green stuff again in the same manner on the penultimate lap. What a effin bummer... I am still frustrated.
Ah well, that's that. Not sure, with these incidents I try to learn for future stuff, but I am not sure what really to learn, only to be extra extra careful in the future with sliding out the rear in that manner. What sent the car spinning was that I got outside the kerb only with the left rear wheel...
anyway, enough of a novella of my race. Had hoped for a bit more but I think I might have taken home a nice little single point, a starting point ;)

Start, @Philtaylor17 @Spinerkopin and @SRT DK Racing in the lead, actually, the same way the finishing order was I think

Well, why not do the same mistake again?

... to more luck and more steadiness at Spa.

When I see our incident on lap 1 on your video I can only come to the conclusion that it was my fault with out a doubt that you ended up in the sand and for that I sadly only can say that iam very sorry for ruining your race , - When I checked the replay after the race and also saw it from the angle like in your video I didnt come to that conclusion weirdly enough - After watching it from inside my car and inside your car and different other angles it made me pretty sure that I hadnt done anything wrong , maybe its best that someone else watch it and makes a desiscion iff I should have some kind of penalty for it or not .......

edit. cant stop thinking about it and I know myself and what I would do in such an situation and its not forceing anyone wide so its a puzzle to me why it looks like iam forceing you wide , because I know I was trying to give you space - dont know iff the track can have something to with it - cant explain excactly what iam thinking in english , I can do it in danish - all in all I hate that it looks like I kinda did it on purpose , because I would never do that to anybody ........

Dood, I seriously doubt that anyone here thinks you did it on purpose. Having raced with you guys, I feel pretty confident that none of the others would do anything on purpose either. I also learnt from a previous event that due to lag, not every replay looks exactly the same. 👍

Good morning all!

I have been up early this morning (with a big cup of coffee!) reviewing yesterday's early laps......

The two incidents that were under review was the first chicane on Lap 1 including @kungtotte_ @GTP_Guido and @R_Goldstreiff and the Ascari chicane on Lap 1 including @Drex124 and @SRT DK Racing.

Lap 1 first chicane outcome:

Warning for @kungtotte_ but no penalty.

It was a bit unfortunate that you lost the rear of the Vette by putting a wheel on the grass under braking (I did the same thing and had contact with @Totalrose at Fuji last season! It happens I know!) However @GTP_Guido really suffered most from this incident.

I understand nothing was intentional but needed to raise it just to show that we need to be extra aware at the start especially with cold brakes and tyres.

Lap 1 Ascari chicane outcome:

@SRT DK Racing 5second penalty.

I really hate giving out penalties and again I know that it wasn't intentional and I'm not accusing anyone of being a dirty driver (its a real pleasure racing with you all) however it just felt to me that a little bit more room could of been given to avoid @Drex124 having to go onto the grass.

The main factor that brought me to the desicion was that @Drex124 lost a good 10-15seconds which obviously had a big impact on his race.

This does however change the finishing order moving @SRT DK Racing from 3rd overall to 5th overall and moves @Lazybike to 3rd and @PTLobo2 to 4th.

Again I hope no one takes anything personally and this is the part of running a series that I hate.

Anyways I'd like to move on from this now. Thanks to everyone for racing and let's all look forward to Spa next month!

Also I just want to add can everyone please friend request me if you haven't already as the amount of randoms joining the lobby at the start was crazy! Normally there is 3 or 4 who join but that was a bit excessive.

From now on I'll make the lobbies "friends only".

Once again thanks all and thanks again to all our new drivers for joining!

Paul :gtpflag:

Unfortunately there is a space opened up for a full time spot on the entry list as @SRT DK Racing has decided to withdraw from the series.

@Drex124 @Autograss_Mad @Lost Sheltie @WhiteFlight1 @llNovall

This space is being offered to all the reserves. Please let me know if you want to make the jump to a full time spot. It will be allocated in the order you are on the reserve list. If none of the reserves take the space I'll put it out to GTPlanet :dopey:

Also I will give @si_berian_tiger a couple of weeks to get back to me to let me know if he wants to still race in the series (as he is a longterm driver with us) before offering his space :)

@SRT DK Racing as I said you are always welcome back

I'll stick to being a reserve if that's ok.
