As @Invisigoth said. Racing in this series has certainly raised my driving ability. Even against the AI who are some of the most unpredictable with their braking and moves on each other in a pack.

In the past the moment below would have resulted in me punting old mate who had been turned around.

What amazed me more was that you managed to go for a trip in the sand and not spin yourself!

To be honest, until I watched it back on replay, I didn't even realize I had traveled that far out to avoid contact. The car barely reacted to the lopsided grip levels and from the drivers view which I was racing from doesn't show the dropping of a wheel off the track as clearly as the bumper or roof cams do.

Are you sure you weren't driving the Gr4 Evo?

Track limits at Monza are absolutely ridiculous.
They are so lenitent in most corners, that if you cut just a tiny bit more than the nornal racing line, you get issued a 3.5 second penalty for what is a pretty big cut compared to the actual asphalt, but absolutely minor compared to the normal line through the kerbs. Not only that but when you cut more of the track than normal, that means you are going straight through those huge yellow sausage kerbs, which make the car so unstable you dont even gain time... and still, you get issued with a huge penalty...

I've been spending my practice sessions purely doing race simulations where I try not to get any penalties. I did manage it but you have to be careful.

My issue is not that there are track limits. I think they should exist and be enforced. My issue is that you should not be given a 3.5 second penalty for cutting 2mm of one corner once.
GT Sport logic. Main reason I don't like Le Mans on this game. When you see the real cars going very wide on Tertre Rouge and on Porsche Curves with no consequences and you get a 2 seconds penalty for going a little wide or sometimes you get a penalty without even cutting the track, you have all the reasons to be upset.

To add: apparently they used the AI to program the penalty system. Assuming how slow they are that's why some corners seems harasher than others.
