Just a Quick Update I made a Discord :D https://tinyurl.com/5ClubDiscord

Just want to also let people know that I have been tuning a diff for this car to remove the Snap Oversteer

Inital Torque =7
Acceleration Sensitivity = 12
Braking Sensitivity = 6

This does seem to stop the car from trying to spin without wanting but does not stop the car from being lively. feel free to discuss here or on discord, hopefully this makes racing more fun..

Sorry to butt in here, just doing some browsing to see what everyone is up to. But have you tried using the stock differential? I found the car to be great with it as-is.

It is terrible too much snap oversteer, nothing like real life physics. These cars don't run with downforce I should not need it for 107bhp. The stock doff is top aggressive and locks early causing you to randomly spin.

Hmm, I don't seem to have that problem.

so what diff is this, and are we definitely using it? If so, could you update the first post with the spec parts when you get a chance.

I will have to re-set up my car now we are using comfort softs and a diff, as that will change quite a lot.

have you used the pedal calibration since its been added? as this can make the throttle pedal much more gradual, and you can program in a bit of dead space at the start of the pedal travel which helps control lighting the tyres up.

I will get it updated you have time before the next race you will find you have more confidence in and out of the corners now.

Join the discord to chat more about it.

started setting the car up on the comfort softs and with the new diff, i personally didnt find much difference with the diff, and it actually felt worse with the set up i had made so had to make a few adjustments.
got the car comfortable now, but i have found its about 1 second slower a lap round brands hatch compared to my set up on the sports hard tyres and standard diff. anyone else experiencing similar?

I'm faster on Sports hard too - here is a poll tell me what you prefer and we will go with that.

Same, but I'm not very keen on the comfort softs. I personally think they're unrealistic and at times unpleasant compared to sports hard tyres - with this car. I also feel that sports hard on this car are a very enjoyable combination (though personally I'm still unsure about increased chassis rigidity). This is also being discussed on Discord. Unless a bunch of people say they prefer comfort softs, or something, we can switch to sports hard.

I have voted for Sports Hards and no custom diff, as i didnt feel much difference between the two tyres in all honesty, apart from the fact the sports softs were a second slower, and the car overall now slower than the golf was.
I also don't personally think the diff is required, as it opens the door to too much tuneability, where its better if we keep it as simple and as standard across the board as possible (much like the real life series which doesnt allow such modifications).

I took it for a spin the other day with the parts listed in the OP and comfort softs, and I agree it was a bit loose on power, but I could bring it to a reasonable balance within the settings we can tune. You still can't expect to smash the throttle out of the corners and get away with it, but i's manageable.

Whether this or that is more realistic... I mean, with only 107 hp you can do several doughnuts trying to recover after a spin, as if it was a F1. I think this says it all about realism. But regardless, I'm more interested in the fun factor and I though comfort softs with the parts in the OP was fine. I didn't do a run with tyre deg and fuel consumption ON, though, but I'm confident any further oversteer can be managed with the setup options available.

Having said that, I'm happy to run whatever the majority decides. It's just a matter of adapting a bit.

Oh, and yes, slower than the Golf. Even with comfort softs I only managed a best time that was 0.6s off from what I did with the Golf back in the day. I personally don't care much about that. In the end we'll all be driving the same car.

just another update I will be setting the weather of each track to the closest available in-game weather setting based on the current weather for that day in real life, it seems the only way to get random weather. you will find the forecast posted in discord.

Here's my challenger for the season!

Mazda MX5 Mk1 750 Cup.jpg

@coxbox I already hinted at it the other day, but I can now confirm I'll have to skip the first 2 rounds this Friday; I work until late that night :/

Just checking on a few drivers to see if they are joining us on Friday @alanjones924 @Wannell1999 @iancervoo Room will open just before 10pm same format as Season 1 :D

Yeah mate I'll be taking part, haven't made a livery or even tested the car yet but I'll be there 😅

I should be able to do the first 3 weeks, maybe the 4th week @ Tsukuba but after that I'm away for essentially the whole of August (6th - 29th) so will miss all of those races and if all goes well should be back for the 1 hour long race at the end of the season!

Jjust to show what net code causes. The incident on lap 8 with me and @boppa, here is two screenshot at the exact same moment, one saved from chio's shared replay, and one saved from my own replay. As I mentioned, on my screen there was clear daylight and I made no contact! Apologies anyway @boppa

Yeah, I had a couple of these with the Golfs as well. Good racing tonight? Still at work :(

Hey.

My first race tonight. I enjoy racing with like minded people.

I really don't mind what position I finish in - all things being equal. If I mess up that's ok - it's on me.

It is frustrating to get taken out of a race when I don't mess up, whether that be by accident, bad net code, recklessness, or a combination of those things.

I was enjoying it up until that point.

Anyway, thanks all for the race tonight. Enjoy the rest of the League, and good luck.

I will not be able to make the races tomorrow. Have fun and try not to miss me too much.
Don't forget to stay hydrated also.
