Best day to race on?

I checked my garage yesterday and the only NA MX5 I have right now has a 13B swapped into it, so I've been watching the UCD in the hopes of getting another one quickly. Once I get one I'll start catching up!

out of curiosity, what people are using controllers, what people are using wheels, and if so what ones?
@DizzyF176 thanks for sharing your setup, will be interesting to try compared to my own considering how fast you have been in the opening races.

I personally have struggled with this car so far, more than i feel i should. My main issue being with how difficult it is to recover/catch a slide with my steering wheel setup, sometimes it is impossible. So much so that i tried some laps with the PS5 controller the other day, and was shocked how much countersteer assistance i feel it gives you even with the assists turned off. It was so easy to catch any slide, and was almost unspinnable in comparison to driving with my wheel.

I use a Logitech G29 wheel and pedals, mounted to a Playseat Challenge fyi.

I'm using a Duel Sense controller with steering sensitivity set to 8 usually. Yeah the countersteer assist is nice. You can really work with it and it's still quite possible for things to go wrong. I have a G920 wheel and a cockpit that I only use with my PC as it's not PlayStation compatible. I'd be curious to try a GT7 with a wheel but would want a bigger screen than my super wide 32:9 monitor. Obviously PlayStation is 16:9 only

Will give that setup a try, each time I got within a tenth or so you improved your time.

Using PS5 controller, default settings and think the only setup change was 1 degree negative camber on the front.

wont get a chance to try the new update until tonight, but in the patch notes it does mention they have changed the steering ratio per car on specifically the G920 wheel, which is interesting as i believe that is one of the G29's biggest flaws. Seeing as that wheel superseded the G29, i wonder if it will have an effect on it also.

Ha, I'll have to try your setup. Maybe you're actually quicker than me.

I'm on a thrustmaster T150 with the better pedals. Next level racing F-GT cockpit setup in GT mode. 55 inch Samsung 4K HDR. Looking to upgrade my wheel to a T300RS.

Maybe this is helpful for wheel settings. I believe Logitech wheels have maximum torque of 2 to 2.5 nm.. so maybe a max torque setting of 2 would be best, if that's what means in GT7

Don't think the setup will get the difference you had in the end, just can't get all the corners right around here. You definitely have the advantage! Would be a good race though. :)

Quick question, since I saw mention of it. Which level of differential is allowed on the cup cars?

Additionally, which gearboxes are we allowed to equip?

I tried these and they do feel nice once I got used to things.

As @DizzyF176 said stock diff, the tyres give enough grip you don't need a Diff the aim is to keep things as simple as possible for racing

Just found the Holy Grale of generic sponsors for this kind of series and it was delivered to my door see attached.

Figured I'd share my livery now that I've got it where I want it. Wheel should be here in two days but I'm gonna get some laps on controller in the event that the wheel is late.

Cheers all, see you this Friday. :gtpflag:

Hi guys, do we have a setup and practice times from Tsukuba yet?
perhaps someone can run a practice lobby tonight or tomorrow? i can post a photo of my setup later tonight, it may help someone. i believe my quickest so far is a 1:11.10, something like that. (this was offline time trial mode though)

@Chiochansan i gave your setup a try, but found it too prone to snap on me on the limit, ive set up mine to be more prone to under steer at the limit i think. I think i could achieve a similar lap time overall, but was more consistent with my set up.
