I hope they have a replay view that exactly imitates how they do it on topgear when they have someone in a reasonably priced car, or when they take a new car around the track.

ohhh yes, that would be the icing on the cake - and something that's pretty likely methinks đź‘Ť

...reading the comments.not sure if this is mentioned.but,remember.the black mask skyline in Prologue.has no interior view.why?because of licencing a prototype,Nissan probably didnt want it.well,in GTPSP,there is an interior view in it.Im an optimist, but realistically,i have to say interiors in gtpsp are not any form of evidance for us to lean towards there being cockpit views in all cars cuz they may not even have needed any interior photos or drawings to have it on the psp.just the dimensions of the car which we know they had.if that same Skyline is in GT5,I doubt it would have any interior still.

The prototype wasn't in GT PSP.

I agree; I'm pretty sure that PD have thought of that. After all, the replay mode has always been an important aspect in GT games.

You buy a capture card, for around say ÂŁ50. That will let you put the video onto the PC. Then the rest is simple.
It would be cool to try, but I don't think id be up for making reviews like that, but because of the different camera views its nice to know you can get a topgear remake from it, I hope they have a replay view that exactly imitates how they do it on topgear when they have someone in a reasonably priced car, or when they take a new car around the track.

Actually, Couldn't you just save the replay to your PS3 HD, then use the new update, which is video and photo editing software to sync and publish it? You can pretty easily move sound files from your PC to your PS3 with a USB flash drive.

Also, there is a firefox addon called 'download helper' that lets you download youtube videos (Im not sure how legal that is, but it is really easy). Then you could just do the editing on your computer.

IMZIZ,

I couldn't have said it better myself. I also think that GT5P graphics for interior and exterior is what the standard cars will be.

We won't know for sure though until we get more official, non translated, word from Kaz's mouth himself, whether it be at gamecom or TGS or on release day when we all have our hands on it.

Standard cars' models are taken straight from Gran Turismo 4. Watch the trailer.

Key word is "some"
■ models included
1,000 vehicles
170 Premium new models (full interior modeling, the interior corresponds to vehicle damage)
830 kinds of standard model (some are from Gran Turismo 4 that have been carried over to GT5) [Read: Cars we have seen in GT4 before ]

Well...GT4 + maybe GT1, 2 and 3 and then sprinkled with some new cars like the Lamborghini Countach and Audi R8 LMS Race Car
But if it was the case they would have just added "models from previous GT games".

Hell yeah that's what I'm talking about đź‘Ť
(I'm not happy though....that means there won't be new models among the standards, and the premiums are pretty limited)

Key word is "some"

Which is not in the original version:

The announcements are as follows:

Cars
-1000 makes/models
-170 premium models (with interiors and damage support)
-830 standard models (compatible models taken from GT4)

Translators Note: I interpret this as having 170 models with interiors and damage, and 830 models that have roughly the quality of GT4 models. Where possible they reused assets from GT4 in that latter case.

HEY! this thread is finally getting back on topic...wait...not really. I think everyone is tired of the "standard cars DO have cockpits" argument. :sly:

No, not tired of debating it but still unconvinced either way although IMZIZ wrote a great post a few pages back providing some good arguments for the DO-camp but I'm still leaning far more to the DON'T-camp unfortunately.
With the limited info we have all we do is move around in circles debating semantics mostly and that indeed becomes very tiresome.
We need in-game footage displaying all available viewpoints of Standard cars ASAP to finally clarify this issue once and for all.:)

I posted a video from the E3 demo that had different, selectable "interior camera views" in the replay. I seriously think that's what the GT site is referring to. :P

I know, hoping you're correct ( as I and many others pointed this out as well ) but holding my horses for now.
I'm still doubtful however it will include interiors on Standard cars.
Already expecting they won't have them, if they do..........:)

But if it was the case they would have just added "models from previous GT games".
You mean like this:
The massive lineup of cars from past Gran Turismo games has been beautifully recreated through the latest technology and the Playstation 3’s cutting-edge graphics.
I'm hoping that this is true. I really want the prized models from those previous games. And Kaz is keeping some surprises for us, so here's hoping. đź‘Ť

In prologue, if you drive the Lancia, the interior is very basic. All thats visible are the seats (they look generic) and the dashboard. Maybe that's like a standard car

And on the topic, I think the cars could have an interior like I said above but I'm prepared that standard is like the GT HD demo

I just have to wonder about this whole issue from the point of view of the average game buyer. Not those following every nuance on this forum, but those who will wander thru the gameshop in November and go 'Oh cool, the new Gran Turimso game is out, I'll buy that ! ". And lets face it, we on this forum will be only an extremely small percentage of the total sales.

So that average gamer, even if they don't have Prologue, probably do know that Prologue has a cockpit view, and know that Forza 3, Shift etc all have cockpit views for every car to the point the that, yes it is the standard for this generation. Then they buy GT5 and only 20% of cars have cockpit view, it'll be WTF ? and rightly so. If there is a servere limitation like that then you have to let your potential purchasers know.

It would be like a sales rep letting a customer leave a store with a brand new 3D TV and the expectation that they're going to go home plug it in and watch the evening news tonight in 3D. The rep has to be very clear the customer understands thats not whats going to happen.

Which brings me to my point. A little asterixed comment on the offical game site that most purchasers won't even visit is not going to cut it. Of course its a long time to launch, and the game may well launch with a big sticker across the cover "Cockpit view only available on select cars". But if you have to go to that extreme, then from a business point of view, wouldn't it be much better to launch a game where all cars ARE of this generational standard, cutting edge of that standard in fact, even if there are only 200 of them, rather than include an additional 800 that, featurewise, don't cut the mustard ?

Maclaren and others make a very strong case that, to apply Occam's razor, the simplest explanation of what a sentence means is probably the correct one. And I conceed that my opposing view is based more on gut feel than on logic, but try as I might, and I have been trying since E3, I still can't get my head around the idea that GT5 will launch with 4/5 ths of the cars below this generations expectations. (I'm purely talking about a lack of a cockpit view here. I have no problem with the whole texture vs individual body panel issue. I'm sure exteriorwise those 800 cars will look fine)

And after all, this debate could so easily be ended. Its not hard to write an unambiguous sentence, so why the contextually ambiguous one we got ? Is it an exercise in lowering expectations, especially as Sony, PD etc know how the hype is starting to build for GT5 ? If it turns out that standard cars do have a cockpit view after all everybody is 'Hooray !!', and far fewer people are complaining about textures vs individual body panels.

Anyhow everything is still speculation, but at this stage my gut is still with the cockpiters.

With all the conflict going on over this one issue, it'll probably be answered in the next official press release from PD. Which probably won't come out until GamesCom in August. But, I'd be completely dumbfounded if this wasn't one of the first things they answered...probably via video of a standard car with or without a cockpit.

That sentence your talking about is not even translated right its wrong. Nobody knows nothing.

Right...Sony mistranslated something from Japanese. WOO! I'd like to see your proof of that. And don't drop it into google's translator either.

Im going on what others have said in this thread. Honestly Super i don't care bro Im very confident we are getting cockpits. If we did not get them though still wouldn't bother me. đź‘Ť

This issue is one PD knows we want answers for,in August,if they dont address it,I'd be heavilly leaning towards no cockpits in standard cars.they'll try and sweeten the deal,by announcing other stuff..maybe,a (pointless) livery editor.pointless, cuz if they'd announced it,I'll say they shouldve rather focused on cockpits

There's a problem with this point. While many people in a development team are probably multitalented, the cars are going to be built by modelers, and the livery editor is going to be coded by programmers. I doubt that all that many of each can do the other task proficiently.

But how do you know? Nothing is certain. We'll have to wait for the game.

I just read this article form Vgrevolution... they apparently had some time playing GT5 at E3! The article is short and it doesn't reveal anything new but one thing that caught my eye was that he mentioned that: "GT5 is offering up one of the most impressive line-ups of automobiles all with incredible details both inside and out. The interiors are unique and life like for each and every car in the game." so take it for what you like but I really hope he is right on this one :) LINK: http://www.vgrevolution.com/2010/07/gran-turismo-5-hands-on-impressions/

Each and every car in the game. Wow. I hope they know what they're talking about and not just the cars seen on the demo at E3.

Thanks for the article, I hope he is right. But sadly he hasn't played the full game nor seen the standards in action. The only thing he has played is what the rest of the E3 attendees played. The E3 demo. I for one hope they are in.

I'm not sure why you guys say things like this when replying to someone who might believe the opposing side.

If nobody knows nothing, then that pretty much negates your argument as well.
