Steam sale thread: Summer 2017 Edition

I dunno, for the couple bucks it's worth grabbing CS:Source, there's years and years of extra time put in by the modding community so if that interests you it's probably worth the $2.

Also, caved and bought Skyrim Legendary.

I didn't even know there were mods, I withdraw my statement. Mods can add a whole load of value to a game, just look what happened with DayZ.

Edit: I've also just seen the difference in price between CS:GO and CS: Complete; £0.17. Wow.

Also, caved and bought Skyrim Legendary.

Muahahaha, it begins! Tomorrow you'll be eyeing up some other game you want but don't want to spend quite what they're asking, then you'll probably think 'Well, I bought Skyrim and that was WAY more than I wanted to spend on that...' and buy all kinds of stuff. 11 days is a long time to resist these things. Then again you did say you wanted it a while ago so maybe you won't become one of Gabe's converted?

Oh and while I'm replying to you specifically: I tested my Dell, I didn't detect any ghosting at all, but I realised as I was doing it that I'm not really sure what I'm looking for. I watched a few videos about it and still didn't see anything like what they were talking about, so I think it's fine. That's a 24" as well, the 23" will presumably be faster.

Thomas Was Alone is 75% off and only costs £1.49 at the moment. Seriously recommend it to everyone here. Awesome story and narration.

I concur. I got it on my PS3 with PS+ and really liked it.

It's already in the flash sale so it won't get cheaper in this sale.

Hold up!

http://www.greenmangaming.com/s/gb/en/pc/games/action/rise-triad/ and this code: GMG20-F202F-UI40F comes to £8 rather than £12 and includes the Apogee Throwback Pack. I don't know if it'll work for you but you could still try. It's a Steam key too.

As for Grid 2's price, Codemasters games tend to be quite sale-phobic. I reckon it'll take a couple of years for Grid 2 to drop to a sensible price. To be honest I'm still very apprehensive about buying any of their games since the Dirt 3 Complete Pack thing... The short version being they weren't exactly shy about more or less telling me they'd tricked me into buying what would therefore be known as the Incomplete Pack!

Also, if anyone wants to know how I know about these other non-Steam deals, I look here and here embarrassingly often. I think these two sources also use this Subreddit: r/gamedeals.

Thanks for the voucher for use with RoTT, mate. Used! :D

Also thanks for that reminder. I also bought Dirt 3 when it came out. God it sucked and still its bugs are not fixed. Crashes all the time for me, and no Simvibe either. Same bug is still in Grid 2 I believe.
To be honest, the engine is nice but they just don't do anything to fix the issues within it. 👎

Will keep an eye on those sites. Added to my bookmarks. :)

Edit:
The extradata=1 bug has been fixed in Grid 2 according to HoiHman.

Yeah, I've wanted to buy Skyrim on PC for a while, for $34 I'll get a lot of value with the mods and all DLC. Hoping to try and keep that as my only "big" purchase, after this I'll hopefully be able to round out my game library with some older titles that should be cheaper. I'll probably cave for Bioshock Infinite on the last day regardless.

Sounds good, I want to grab a 23" some time in the fall. I'll probably buy it while I'm at school so I don't have to bring it out to school.

Nothing really grabbing me today, but if you don't have Hotline Miami you MUST buy it. Please. You'll probably love it.

Antichamber, which is a pretty great puzzle game. .

Ok Neema I have taken your advice and bought these, if I don't like them I am holding you entirely responsible.

Just kidding, thanks for the heads up :)

Thanks, giving this one a go, hardly a massive gamble at that price. :)

Flash Sale
Euro Truck Simulator 2: 75%
Bastion: 85%
Dark Souls: Prepare to die edition: 75%
Cities XL: 75%

Community Choice
Borderlands 2: 66%

Ohhhh damn... Euro Truck Simulator 2 is cheaper on Steam than the other place. Let's hope Moglet doesn't notice, eh? SORRY! I owe you £2.25. I feel terrible - and ridiculously stupid - for that one.

Interesting to note that three of the four current flash sales have just had cards added. Even more interesting to note, I'm 99% sure I had Bastion already, but it wasn't in my library. I looked up where I could've bought it from and it turns out I had looked at but not used my Steam key from the fifth Humble Bundle, so that was weird.

Borderlands 2 is tempting, I already have the vanilla game but no DLC. Think I'll pass though since I have Skyrim to start playing and a few other games to get going on. Not to mention that I'm not very far into regular BL2 in the first place.

I just bought my girlfriend Borderlands 2 and all the DLC, now just to surprise her with the computer I'm working on for her.

..and it's sold out.

My order's in process and i'll check back in when I recieved a code. A friend of mine already received his.

I paid $400 for my copy!*

Metro:LL is a great game, worth far more than $0.01, I lost my save file when I reinstalled Windows after installing my SSD, so I haven't played it much since because I don't want to go over everything again yet. Game takes all the good parts of Metro 2033 (atmosphere, cool weapons, graphics, story), and fixes the mediocre shooting mechanics from the first game. Not to mention there's a gas mask wipe function. That's worth a penny in and of itself!

*It came with my graphics card

I just grabbed the other Borderlands 2 DLC, not the skin packs, but the other stuff. I also picked up To the Moon and Bionic Commando Rearmed.

someone play san andreas ? i have problem with my guy running backwards ... doesnt find anything about it

Odd. See if you've got a joystick/gamepad/wheel plugged into your usb port. I sometimes had funny stuff like that as well with older games. Removing any of those devices helped, because it's getting that input command from somewhere after all. ;)

Fallout games are 40% off but I know they will go cheaper so I am holding out. Also, BioShock is $5 atm, is that likely to be the lowest it goes even though it isn't a daily deal or a flash sale ?

EDIT: never-mind turns out that it is an extended daily deal :(

Volvo The Game is clearly worth the extra £2.25 ;)

Gah, why do humans need sleep anyway?

its a ****ing joke ? i just paid 25 for it

And that's why you're supposed to wait! Out of curiosity, how much did you pay for The CrapZ? I mean Infestation: Survivor Stories? Last time it was Steam's featured daily it was something like £2.40, which would be what, $4-5 (US)?

I also picked up To the Moon

To The Moon is the only game that has made me nearly cry. I didn't though because I'm a man, men don't cry! Cars, guns, women, steak. See? Man. Explosions.

Volvo The Game is clearly worth the extra £2.25 ;)

Well I'm glad you think so, but let that be a lesson to everyone; don't listen to me because I'm an idiot, and always wait. But in the case of different stores competing its always a gamble, it could have been that the Gamers Gate sale expired then Steam's offer was worse. So yeah.

Three of my four orders for metro have been canceled by best buy. Hopefully I at least get one.

So the new flash sales (for the benefit of those without access to Steam right now):

Duke Nukem 3D Megaton Edition -66%
Little Inferno -75% - I really like this 'game', it's quite simple but very nicely made.
Football Manager 2013 -75%
Civilisation V -75%

Community choice: Saints Row: The Third -75%

New voting options: GTA IV -75%, Portal 2 -75%, Mirror's Edge -70%.

Still nothing for me, then.
