Steam sale thread: Summer 2017 Edition

Should I grab Grid 2 or just wait it out? For those people who has it, is it worth it in PC or just trade my other games for console (PS3)?

Just bought the CS complete collection. Was going to buy CS:GO but the complete pack was $2 more so I grabbed it for CS:Source.

Also, thanks for the heads up Neema, always good to save a bit of money. Although not sure if I can use GMG from Canada.

I see GMG deals on Redflagdeals.com which is Canadian.

Awesome, so that's Bioshock for $24 then. Still not sure about Skyrim. I could get a lot of games for what they want, but then again Skyrim is a lot of game in and of itself. Unfortunatley I've sunk so much time into it on PS3 already but I haven't played any DLC yet.

I'm patiently waiting for Euro Truck Simulator 2... but I bought Hotline Miami with the left over money from a gift card I got a couple of weeks ago.

I don't know if this is valid in the States, but it's £8.50 for us right now: http://www.gamersgate.co.uk/DD-EUROTS2/euro-truck-simulator-2

Mars: War Logs was replaced in the daily deal lot with Antichamber, which is a pretty great puzzle game. It's sort of similar to Portal in that you're in what seems to be a weird testing facility and there are guns that do things (maybe just one gun that can place and remove coloured blocks, I forget). I think each playthrough is timed, but I haven't even completed one yet. It's totally surreal and makes you feel smart when you work something out, as most of these games do, I guess.

I wish to buy Grid 2, but which DLC is a worthy purchase?

Or do you guys say... "Wait"?

I would say wait, but that's because I've heard bad things from people who don't like arcade racers much. Maybe if you could find some people who do like arcade racers you'd get a better idea, but I'm going to be waiting a looooong time to pick it up, personally. Unless you're asking if you should wait in case there's a better deal in this summer sale, in which case there won't be.

I'm eyeing Skyrim Legendary Edition as my first purchase but i don't know if it'll pop up in flash sale eventually or not.

Thanks. I think I will just wait. I like to play it but with all DLC, except the unlocking one it would still be too expensive for my liking after all. Maybe it will be a better deal in the winter sale.

I think I rather grab MK9, Duke Classic pack and RoTT pre-order. ;)

Duke Nukem Platformer pack 33%
Duke Nukem 3D Megaton 33%

It's already in the flash sale so it won't get cheaper in this sale.

RoTT pre-order. ;)

Hold up!

http://www.greenmangaming.com/s/gb/en/pc/games/action/rise-triad/ and this code: GMG20-F202F-UI40F comes to £8 rather than £12 and includes the Apogee Throwback Pack. I don't know if it'll work for you but you could still try. It's a Steam key too.

As for Grid 2's price, Codemasters games tend to be quite sale-phobic. I reckon it'll take a couple of years for Grid 2 to drop to a sensible price. To be honest I'm still very apprehensive about buying any of their games since the Dirt 3 Complete Pack thing... The short version being they weren't exactly shy about more or less telling me they'd tricked me into buying what would therefore be known as the Incomplete Pack!

Also, if anyone wants to know how I know about these other non-Steam deals, I look here and here embarrassingly often. I think these two sources also use this Subreddit: r/gamedeals.

You are most welcome, my good man!

Also worth mentioning that if you're a new customer to Gamersgate and you buy Euro Truck Sim 2 you get Volvo: The Game for free! I've yet to play it but hey, it's free so I'm not complaining.

Now, about Bioshock Infinite...

You saw my earlier post about that, right?

I'm trying to buy it from Green Man Gaming but I can't seem to find anywhere to use the code. I've tried using the voucher section but it won't accept it there.

EDIT: According to their Twitter, that offer ended 2 hours ago :(

EDIT 2: I still bought it. 👍

Well Steam has failed me. Refusing to accept any credit car or debit card. You'd think they'd prepare properly for the increase in numbers ffs.

Well that's lame. Might just grab it on Steam but I think I'll probably wait as of now, think I'll wait for the last day and see my financial situation. Bioshock is surely a great game but I don't think I'll get a ton of time out of it.

I just went ahead and bought it, it's only £14, I spend that much in petrol if I go for a blast at the weekend!

I dunno, I've heard it's really not that great. And that's coming from people who actually liked the first two, I thought they were hugely overrated. Funny thing is, most of the criticism I've heard of this one is exactly how I felt about the other two; mediocre gameplay and a lot of monotony and repetition.

I enjoyed the first 2 but never really got too involved in the hype about them, we shall see how this one plays. Everyone at work has said it's fantastic. Even if it's not as amazing as the hype suggests, I need a new game to keep me entertained and now I've got 2. :)

I need help!

Would you guys recommend CS:GO? I've never played a CS game, but I've played all Half-Life, Portal 1 and 2 and TF2. Loved them.

I like it. It's different to your typical first person shooter because you don't play long rounds, they typically last a few minutes, and if you play with friends it can be great fun... But it can also be frustrating as you will die quickly and pros seem very aimbotty, but that's just how Counter Strike is, I think. I didn't play Source much. Also a single match might consist of, like, 20 rounds if the teams are well-balanced, or 8 or so if they aren't. Also you don't respawn, at least not in the modes I've played.

The complete collection for CS is only a couple bucks more so if you're going to get it, I'd just get that since you get 3 additional games for $2.

While that is true, I don't think a new player would get much out of the older Counter Strikes. GO is a sort of UI, usability and graphics update, most of the rest is the same... I personally won't go back to CS: Source because GO is prettier and I don't know what I'm missing; long-time die hard players prefer the older games (presumably because poor graphics = higher frame rate), so I don't know. But I'm not sure, there might be more to it than that, but I don't think the older games are worth getting if you get GO.

Thomas Was Alone is 75% off and only costs £1.49 at the moment. Seriously recommend it to everyone here. Awesome story and narration.
