Steam sale thread: Summer 2017 Edition

How is wreckfest? I'm picking up that Japan drifting game, I'll edit the name when I get back to the PC, City Skylines and Punch Club.

Bought "This war of Mine", but won't install it untill tomorrow afternoon (CET) because I'm in 24 hour of Spa-Francorchamps in an international rFactor 2 championship atm. 8 hours done, 16 to go, my next turn is in around 1h 45 minutes.
After the race will install this and Sonic Adventures 2.

I wouldn't recommend Wreckfest, its development is painfully slow and it generally takes several months between any updates. The gameplay is solid and what little content it's got is fun to play around with, but I don't think it's worth the $20 at the moment.

I did get Wreckfest with trading card money so I can't really say if it's worth actual real money, also I haven't played it much since the controversial physics update that everyone hated, but before that I thought it was insanely fun. Even just racing on dirt ovals with like 20 other players was amazing, with players taking each other out when the opportunity presents itself, over the course of five or ten laps you have to somehow dodge the flaming wrecks that accumulate while your bonnet (hood) has come open and you can't see anything but the towers of smoke. It was great with a G27 when I last played, I should reinstall it actually. Last time I played there wasn't a lot of content but there was good variety and it was very well-made considering the pre-release state. Also before the update the physics were actually quite simmy which was a nice surprise

But is it worth buying for actual money? Probably not yet if you want a fairly complete game.

Absolute Drift, though, that's a great game. Probably not the Japanese drifting game you meant but it should be!

Ok, well, I didnt go that route at all. I got Subnautica, Counter Strike and half life. The latter two for Gmod stuff mostly. Subnautica though looks really good.

Haven`t played any of the Bioshock games, but I will have soon as all 3 are bundled together for £5.99!

I Didi that in the Winter Sale. I have 0 regrets.

Also a friend of mine offered me Rocket League in the day I was going to buy it. So I bought Cities: Skyline Deluxe, and I'll another 10€, and buy my self another game.

I just bought Simple Planes, I had been holding off on buying anything for various reasons but I made the mistake of watching the videos on the store page. I used to love making solely atmospheric jets and other weird vehicles (like Flying Bedstead-style VTOLs and quadcopters, except instead of propellers it used jet engines) in Kerbal Space Program so I'm keen to try a game where that is the entire premise. If it doesn't have a huge map like KSP does, though, I might refund it - my most memorable mission in KSP was flying a sciencey jet thing to the north pole, in real time, landing and doing a bit of science.

If I do refund it I'll probably get Neon Struct, The Beginner's Guide or Chroma Squad instead.

Purchased all three Assetto Corsa Dream Packs yesterday for a little under $20. I know I'm late to the party, but better late than never.

Yeah, I actually almost got PCars as my main purchase. I still have a lot of miles to put into Rally Dirt though, and until school is over I am looking for games that don't require long time commitments.

If the various leaks are to be believed, the Steam summer sale starts today. Somehow my wishlist has 53 items on it (that's more games than I have installed right now) but I think I only really want Just Cause 3. I guess we'll see, though, I have been saving for a new graphics card but since it'll be a while before they drop to a sane price I don't expect to feel bad about dipping into what I've saved to pick up a few things, should I find some things I want at a reasonable price.

How about you?

Unlike the winter sale, I'm not exactly in a financial position to be spending poodles of cash... but we'll see. Got exactly 100 items on my wishlist as of now. :P

I got exactly 17,80€ to spend. I either buy a big AAA game heavily discounted or several (3 or 4) older games. I'll be looking mostly for multiplayer games with active communities. We'll see what pops up. I don't have a particularly large wishlist.

Oh god please no, not now. My gaming budget has been largely spent and I still need to pre-order Forza Horizon 3.

I got most of my gaming itches covered at the moment, so that's good. I just want a new strategy game. Age of Wonders III never hooked me (something about its art style just turns me off big time), so I might go for a discounted Total War or Civ. Or maybe a heavily discounted Endless Legend + DLCs... Or maybe Europa Universalis or Hearts of Iron or Crusader Kings...

Sigh, maybe I ought to just give Age of Wonders another chance.

I have a plan to just buy the rest of the planes on Rise of Flight and be done with the sale.

Lets see if it holds.

Aparently starts at 5.45pm BST.

IT HAS STARTED. PRAISE LORD GABEN!

Don't try buying anything yet though. The store is running mighty slow.

Damn son, store is a mess rn hahaha

Happens every time there's a sale, it'll probably be back to normal in an hour or two.

Sadly, most of my wishlist has been discounted, so... Yeah. 50% off Just Cause 3 is probably going to happen and then Dex, OmniBus, ADR1FT, BlazeRush, The Beginner's Guide, Infra, Subnautica, Neon Struct, Metro: Last Light Redux, Volo Airsport, Volume, Sublevel Zero and NeonXSZ are all tempting at their current prices. Fortunately, given that timed sales are no longer a thing, I have time to think about it (and then cave after pay day and buy all of them anyway).

So DOOM is roughly 35 bucks... Actually want to sink some time into a mindless FPS. In addition there's some games on my wishlist that got a nice discount.

Darkest Dungeon 40% off... Tempting.

I've been checking out that game as well. Though I heard recent updates to the game affected the gameplay.

Also it appears there's no special game associated with the sale? Can you still craft badges and cards exclusive to this sale?

Just Cause 3 is a pretty solid game. I have no idea about the latest DLC though. Also when I last played it (a few months ago), I had some serious stuttering issues. Still managed to complete a whole lot but it's really annoying. Seems to only happen on AMD cards, so by now it's fixed?

I've only been able to find Lethal League that's an item I've wanted to get.

Then the store site goes down again.

This shopping session may take a while

Well, it seems like I already have most things I wanted. I think I'll only get This War of Mine and all. May consider buying Il-2 Sturmovik: Battle of Stalingrad or American Truck Simulator. I'd like Hearts of Iron IV and some DLCs for Project CARS, but there are no discounts for them.

DOOM is certainly worth getting. Great game (especially for that old school feel) and that's a pretty fair price. It's not the sort of game you'll pour hundreds upon hundreds of hours into within a few months after release but you can come back to it any time and continue where you left off.
I've been checking out that game as well. Though I heard recent updates to the game affected the gameplay.
Yeah, and from what I've heard, these updated didn't change things for the better. More frustrating RNG here and there and most winning strategies have been nerfed to oblivion. Can't vouch for the truthfulness of these statements, mind you, but it's certainly sufficient to keep me at bay :indiff:
Or maybe Europa Universalis or Hearts of Iron or Crusader Kings...
Crusader Kings and Europa Universalis went on sale. The complete EU4 package including all DLCs is 75% off and sits at ~24 bucks. Gotta pull the trigger on that.

/edit:
Just watching a Let's Play and I feel like I'd be dropping the game again in a week because it's just way too complex for me to actually relax while playing it :indiff:

How are the LEGO games? I have not played any of them.

Does anyone have experience with a Steam Link? They look interesting, especially in that I would probably start playing more of the games in my library.

Handful of games on my wishilist are on sale, but none deep enough for me to justify pulling the trigger.

Did pick up a game called Kairo which wasn't on my wishlist. It was only a buck and looked interesting (or at the very least, didn't look like one of the plethora of lazily produced cash grabs that typically flood the dirt-cheap end of the spectrum on Steam...)

Any discounts on rfactor 1 or 2? Been wanting to buy one of them

They're both 40% off.
