Totally fun! These rallies are growing on me! :D
(costing a small fortune in tyres though!) :(

Special Conditions : Tour of Tahiti (reverse) : Easy difficulty
Car: Nissan Skyline GTS25 Type S '91 (Used, oil changed) / FR / 187HP / 1320kg / 7.1kg/HP / vs. Audi Quattro '82 169 A-spec points

A good launch and good lines will allow you to sneak by cleanly at the sharp right turn on the tarmac section at the beginning of the lap, after that hold the apex of each bend, and though the Audi stays very close behind, even bumping the back of you at times, its possible to hold on through the dirt and then open up a little gap through the tarmac section to give yourself breathing space (about a second or 2!) for the 2nd lap!

are we allowed to use N tires?

this can bump up the Aspec points over S1 and S2.

I'm 99.9% sure that N tires can't be used. :indiff:

Rules: No tuning (stock car -> i.e. you cant buy any new parts, but you can change all settings possible except ballast). Oil change allowed. No wallriding or shortcuts including riding AI cars in corners. 2 tires on the track at all times. S2 or S1 tires for any car, R3->S1 tires for race cars.
Special races can be ridden with dirt or snow tires.
The Laguna seca enduro can be ridden with RSH tires as all AI uses it (this is an exeption to the rule due to a probable slip from Polyphony Digital).

Tonight's first race, FR in the snow! Fun! :)

Special Conditions: Whistler Ice Race : Easy difficulty
Car: Nissan Silvia Spec S Aero (S15) '99 (Used, no oil) / FR / 148HP / 1200kg / 8.1kg/HP / vs. Mitsubishi Lancer 1600 GSR Rally Car '74 124 A-spec points

*edit* 10/18/2005 Well, it turned out to be the night's only race! Got stuck trying to get this one nailed down cleanly! It's taken some doing, but it's another unusual choice for a rally car, and fell short of greatness by just 1 measly point!
A clean getaway hitting each of the gearchanges spot-on is important, but it should get you to the 1st corner in 1st place. After that, hold onto every last apex, and make the car as wide as possible, and there's no way past for the AI. Almost avoided any contact at all but he touched my back end going into one of the hairpins on the 2nd lap. But since it's his fault & not mine, I'm happy to call this one clean enough to submit!

Special Conditions : Tour of Tahiti : Easy difficulty
Car: Mazda MX-5 Miata 1.8 RS (NB,J) '98 (Used, oil changed) / FR / 143HP / 1080kg / 7.6kg/HP / vs. Mitsubishi Lancer 1600 GSR Rally Car '74 199 A-spec points!

*edit* Last rally for a while, got to earn some cash to pay for all the other rally cars & dirt tyres I'll need to finish off the hard rallies. 750,000Cr a pop is a little pricey!

Special Conditions: Yosemite Rally II : Hard difficulty
Car: Toyota Celica Rally Car (ST185) '95 / 4WD / 311HP / 1200kg / 3.9kg/HP / vs. Subaru Impreza Rally Car '03 102 A-spec points

Cleaning up the races I've not yet done in Beginner & Professional halls this weekend.

Beginners hall: Spider & Roadster Race 1 - Twin Ring Motegi
Car: Mazda MX-5 Miata S-Special Type I (J) '95 (6.2 mile used, no oil) / FR / 130HP / 1000kg / 7.7kg/HP / 180 A-spec points

versus this lineup in starting order:- Alfa Romeo Spider 3.0i V6 24V '01, Fiat Barchetta Giovane Due '00, Mazda MX-5 Miata SR-Limited (J) '97, Nissan 350Z Roadster (Z33) '03, BMW Z4 '03.

*edit* Now cleaning up the truck races :yuck:
Bought one of each truck, so I could find the highest A-spec yield while using 3 different vehicles. Sadly due to the appearance of the Dodge Ram :grumpy: in every lineup, the Dodge Ram is the only one to give high points, the rest give considerably less. :( Still, it's the only time I'll be using a stock Ram for points, and in its proper place. That is until I hit 100% and go back mopping up dropped A-spec points to enter the 100,000pt club!

Beginners hall: Sport Truck Race 1 - Fuji
Car: Dodge Ram 1500 '04 / 4WD / 341HP / 2390kg/ 7.0kg/HP / 200 A-spec points which Hispeed has done before anyway! ;)

Beginners hall: Sport Truck Race 2 - Laguna Seca
Car: Ford SVT F-150 Lightning '03 / 4WD / 380HP / 2132kg / 5.6kg/HP / 18 A-spec points :(

Beginners hall: Sport Truck Race 3 - Seattle
Car: Chevrolet SSR '03 / FR / 290HP / 2248kg / 7.8kg/HP / 40 A-spec points

This is 🤬 really, less HP & almost the same weight as the Ram, worse PWR and yet only gives 1/5th of the points. :grumpy:

Hi folks!

Welcome to our most recent member of "Club 200": GT4freak32492

N tires (and ballast) are never allowed as we would then have to rerace everything and because "stock" in this challenge is what the cars are equipped with when you get them, not what is "stock" in the real world. See the rules in #1 post for exeptions.

Keep 'em coming!

Endurance races: Nurburgring 24h
Car: Renault Clio Race Car (no oil) / MR / 298hp for garage menu / 1150 / 200 A-spec points

Total Time: 24:02'29.298 (193 laps)
Best Lap: 7'15.089 (non-draft aided)
Miles Driven: 2530.2

Line-up:
(4)Nissan Falken GT-R Race Car '04 + 1 lap
(5)Opel Cailbra Touring Car '94
(2)AMG Mercedes 190 E Evoil Touring Car '94
(1)Toyota Superautobacs Apex MR-S '00
(3)Nissan C-West Razo Siliva (JGTC) '01

I first time I started this race the BMW M3 GTR Race Car was in the line-up, I wish I had stuck with that line-up. It would have been a much closer race :grumpy: .

I made a few mistakes that caused me to go off-track but I never went off-track to gain positions or to gain time. I was worried about my off-track mishaps :scared: until I found this post! :D

Sweet! bhawk776 that's some racing! Love the picture too!
Haven't attempted the 24hr 'Ring race yet, but its the only 24hr one I've not A-specced yet. A great entry to kick off the next batch of updates! 👍

Here's my latest; 200 points, but it pales in comparison!
Proves the Toyota truck is worthy of 200 points as well as Hispeed's Dodge Ram races and the Special Conditions race that jdw got 200 points for in the Ford F-150.

Professional hall: Clubman cup race 2 - Twin Ring Motegi
Car: Toyota Tacoma X-Runner '04 / FR / 259HP (oil) / 1687kg / 6.5kg/HP / 200 A-spec points!

vs. 17th ( :scared: many enter & exits, and 4 or 5 attempts to get it clean!) lineup after reset. In starting order:- Hyundai HCD6 '01, Nissan Skyline GTS-t Type M '91, TVR V8S '91, Dodge SRT4 '03, Honda Prelude Type S '98.

Thanks Smallhorses! 👍

I read your post in WRS thread when I was about half-way into my 24h race. I hope I didn't take the car you had your eye on :scared: ! I also had no idea that you had raced in the WRS before until I saw that post. I found that you were a D1 driver in GT3 👍 👍 but I looked at the GT4 registered drivers list and couldn't find your name. Have you ran the qualifer for GT4 and if so what division are you in? Also, since you like rallys you should check this thread out! There are open rally classes so you won't have to have a full-blown rally car.

I haven't registered for the GT4 WRS yet, since I'm only just coming up on 50% complete, and haven't got much game cash for simulation mode races that require modified cars! I'm on a mission to hit 100% totally A-spec, using as many cars as possible along the way, and I'm trying to only use a car for 1 race, or 1 championship series. Check out post #1 and you'll see that unless its a championship race series, all the single race entries under any category by me are in different rides. Since I've already entered my Clio Race Car as my entry for the George V reverse (hard) rally, it won't be going in for anything else until I'm mopping up A-spec points later on! I'm also aiming to own 1 of every car, and since I have an absolute aversion to B-spec, winning the millions & millions of Cr to buy all the race cars is going to take eons!

I'm a little :indiff: about rallies, truth be told. My worst results in GT3 WRS always came in rally weeks, except once when I ran a Mini when everyone else was using Skylines and Evos! (dead last of all divisions, but tons of fun!) Some of the GT4 rallies can be made fun by a good choice of car, e.g. Alpine 110S 1600 on dirt!

I've seen several ongoing OLRs that I'm interested in, but haven't got the time to take part in yet. Kolyana's American Muscle looked interesting, as did the NRS.
Hopefully some of these will still be going strong when I get round to completing GT4! I'm travelling with work more often than I used to, and its tricky to compete in something when I can suddenly get sent to Montana, Arizona, Seattle, San Diego or Utah at short notice! :grumpy:

Something about this race...I don't know. It's like crack for race car drivers. I thinik this is like the 11th or 12th time I've A-specced it, depite not really liking the Nurburgring. I also know the car in itself is a total piece of trash, but I feel an encompassing need to race it. Oh well. At least it's a fun car to use.

Endurance races: Nurburgring 4h
Car: DMC DeLorean S2 / 207 HP/ 1288 KG/ PWR 6.2/ Tires F/R S3/S1/ 200 A-Spec points against:
Ford Focus RS (if only it wasn't FF, he would be up front all race)
Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport (if only PD didn't make this car sand bag when the AI drives it, he would too)
Honda NSX-R (I hate him with a passion. He nearly won the race too.)
Lotus Elise 111R (lots of fun to race until he needed tires)
Renault Clio Sport V6 24 V Phase 2 (ditto)
Margin of victory: 7.836 seconds. My new favorite racing moment. Yes, edging out even the Lotus Esprit Turbo HC at Laguna Seca 200 mi.

@Smallhorses I wish I would have done things like you are. When I started playing GT4 I would mod any car I raced to the limit and just destroy the AI :guilty: , not very fun. Now that I found this thread, I'm replaying everything and having a much better time doing it! 👍 👍

If you have a second memory card you could always get an uber save so you could take part in OLR events when you had extra time. :sly:

@ Toronado another blistering endurance race. 👍 The Delorean comes stock with S3 tyres doesn't it? Sweet that you only have to change the rears to be competetive here, and still get huge points! I had to used S1s allround on my S2000 entry.

@ bhawk776 this way of entering races is something I learnt from my 3rd & 4th passes through GT3. First 2 attempts were of the "complete the game as quick as possible" mentality but left me with a ton of 0.0 mile cars in the garage, so I got to thinking why not try to hit 100% with some miles on all cars. On my 4th & final pass, I just went all out to find the equivalent of what would be 180 - 200pt races in GT4 just to make things fun. Also I liked the fact that there was more than 1 prizecar available for each series & enduro as it meant that you had to race again & could use several different cars.
It's not really possible to do this totally with GT4, too many cars & not enough races, and a lot of the cars are misplaced, e.g. there's a dedicated race for Japanese 70's cars, but nothing for the rest of them, like the Jensen, BMW 2002 and Lotus Europa. Similarly FF racecars, like Gather Drider Civic, Motul Civic & Nissan MM-r, too powerful for FF challenge, but are never going to hang with the JGTC or LMPs, so there should be a dedicated race for them maybe including the Lupos too.
I have a 2nd mem card, and have been tempted to use it for a complete garage from online, but, there's something uniquely satisfiying about collecting it all yourself, and the distraction of OLRs would mean my own mission would get waylaid and take another couple of years to complete! What's taking me so long here is repeatedly entering some of the high point races to get them clean enough for submission in this thread, there's tons that I've taken the points in time & time again, but have reset the console because there's 1 too many tyres off track, or an AI contact that I can't ascribe to them turning in on me, and hence I go race & race again until I'm happy! I posted a replay somewhere in here of a 200pt race in NA Sports with an S2000. That one took nearly 20 attempts to get right, every pass had to be timed just right but the end result was worth it when it was clean!
Guess I'm just a nut! :dopey: Sometime I'll come back & hang out in the WRS though!

Thanks. I've been toying with the idea of another rear engined car that you yourself are particularly known to: Alpine A110S. I was thinking about taking it to Tsukuba 9hr, but, you know, Tsukuba? For 9 hours? That could put you in a coma if you raced it with a Porsche with both rear tires flat. I am, however, thinking I want to try something in an FF car (probably Tuning Car Cup with a Focus RS or something), as I have very little seat time with FF cars (barring the Ballade CRX, which I do constantly drive, but that particular car has 206 BHP and R1 tires :sly: ).

Since you're both viewing at the moment, do you (Toronado, bhawk776) have a MAX drive for viewing replays?

I need someone with GT4 NTSC and a MAX drive to check out a replay for me.

I have this entry:-

Beginners hall: MR Challenge Race 2 - Autumn Ring
Car:- MG F '97 / MR / 144HP / 1070kg / 7.4kg/HP / 185 A-spec points

vs. 2nd lineup after reset. There's 2 points of AI contact in the 1st lap, one where the NSX Type-R swerves a little on the kerbing on the loop under the bridge and I hit the back of him. It costs me time rather that gaining time so that's OK. The 2 laps are clean, 2 wheels on at all times, but its the 2nd bit that worries me. I was clearly ahead of the 2nd NSX into the last bend on lap 1, but he touched the back of me, since I'm turning in already and contact was made. I don't think this constitutes "riding" the AI, but can someone have a look before I post this into the Post #1 list. I'll upload the replay in a while......

There's a winnable 200pt lineup (5th after reset) out there, but I've had about 15 tries at it, and I can't win it cleanly. Dirty it's easy enough, but the best I've finished clean was 0.881s behind the ASL Garaiya.

Since you're both viewing at the moment, do you (Toronado, bhawk776) have a MAX drive for viewing replays?

I did, but I ruined it :grumpy: and I have yet to buy another one but I plan on doing so in the near future.

Any verdicts on that replay yet?

Here's one that needs no verification (I do have the replay though if anyone would really like to see it!) as its 100% clean, 2 wheels on at all times and no AI contact whatsoever!

Beginners hall: Sunday cup Race 5 - Twin Ring Motegi
Car: Toyota Prius G Touring Selection (J) '03 / FF / 79HP / 1290kg / 16.3kg/HP / 200 A-spec points!

Against 8th lineup after reset, has Peugeot 206cc on pole but it's pretty easy, was 3.9s behind going into 3rd & final lap! Finished 0.161s ahead!

Audi Tourist Trophy :
Race 1 El Capitan

Car: Audi TT 1.8T Quattro ('00) Used/ 4WD / 221HP /1395 / 6.31kg/HP /121 A Spec by Mr.Slow

You know, technically there has been a Lamborghini in every GT but the original.
GT2 had the Vector M12 (Lamborghini Diablo V12 powered).
GT3 had the Nomad Diablo JGTC car (an actual Lamborghini Diablo).
GT4 had the Cizeta-Moroder V16T (Lamborghini styling, twin Ferrari V8's).

THIS....NOMAD DIABLO JGTC CAR? WHERE/ HOW DO YOU GET IT? I'VE NEVER SEEN SUCH A THING P.S. THE VECTOR M12--I COULD BE WRONG BUT I WAS LED TO BELIEVE THAT THEY WERE ALL 100% HAND BUILT IN AMERICA I KNOW THE CARS THEMSELF WERE....MAYBE THE ENGINE WASNT. ANYWAYS PLEASE LET ME KNOW HOW TO GET THAT DIABLO WOULD LOVE TO SEE

Anyway i recently finished the El Capitan 200-- w/a stock 04 S2000 pretty good race,...switched places with the Shelby at least 6-7 times use Sport Hard tires all race....eventually winning by about 40 seconds or so...
1.Honda S2000
2.Shelby Series 1 Supercharged
3.Chevrolet Corvette Z06---would have been passed but not quite enough time
4.Dodge Viper SRT10---amazing how much AI can sandbag eh?---sad
5.TVR Cerbera Speed Six
6.Mercedes SL65 AMG
anywho

Endurance Hall : El Capitan 200
Car: S2000 04 / FR / 259HP / 1250KG / 4.8KG-HP / 200 A-Spec Points

Excellent, I see you found us OK! Cracking entry to get started with. I've added it to my list, next time I send it off to Hispeed so he can do the post #1 update, I'll have him put your name on the Club 200 list.
Hope to see more from you soon.

since i'm new here I'll try and do a favor for everyone....for the Honda Manufacturer's cup, the type R races, try it with an 01 civic type R---you might have to modify it a little--it's been a few weeks since i did it, but, I got 200 A-spec on all those races--I used NOS on 3 of the races, so if you don't want to use nos i guess you should just be picky--& enter & re-enter with that civic--or a brand-new 1 either should work to get them to not use an NSX I got 2 out of 5 without the NSX's so if your not going to use nitrous i suggest that you not race the NSX's

At the beginning of this thread it's states to try the Amuse S2000 for the Tuning car cup race---you also say race cars can use up to R3's, does this count as a race car? I did notice the AI cars use R3's in the preview, well that'll put your A-Spec points down to 185(with Oil Change) but I know I can win most if not all races with R2's after many losses & experimentation, I'll just have to pick the right field to go against & qualify for every race---any thoughts on R2's? I noticed It doesnt specify on first page what tires

What does the Amuse S2000 come with as stock? That's what you should use.
Its probably considered a road car, and race tyres on road cars are forbidden with one exception, the Laguna Seca 200 miles.
You'd best wait for confirmation from Hispeed about the Amuse S2000 since he's the one who set the challenge, and I don't own own of those yet.

Also NOS is a dirty 🤬 word round here! You may change oil, and that's it! ;)
Which 2 races for the Type-R Challenge did you win in a stock Civic with no NOS?
You could enter those. List the races and the car stats as requested in post #1 and they'll be added to the list.

For modified or tuned 200pt races, submit them at route_66's 200pt race thread.

Keep the stock entries coming 👍

The Amuse s2000 is no racecar -> i.e.: no R-tires.
NOS is an absolute NONO!

For this challenge race cars are the cars that come with R-tires stock (not including the rally cars that for som unknown reason are delivered with R-tires...)

Btw: Any Amuse S2000 (especially the R1) on El Capitan is one of my absolute favorite races 👍

well i know nobody likes nos here so im certainly not suggesting anyone use it, basically im saying i don't think I used quite stock vehicles or not (may have had suspension) so I'll have to see if I can win them completely stock. I'm just letting people know so they can try-because i saw it wasnt posted--but you can get at least close to the magic 200
I also ask about the Racing tires on the amuse because of laguna seca's rules(which I believe were initiated because the AI used slicks) because they do use R3's in that cup sooooo...anyone who wins with the amuse with S3's? i'd like to shake their hand because they rock

hey, Hispeed, ummm.. what tires can we use with a rally car? not sure how much people have noticed but some of them actually make really good race cars

LeadSlead#2
hey, Hispeed, ummm.. what tires can we use with a rally car? not sure how much people have noticed but some of them actually make really good race cars

Hrrm, err.... good question! Since rally cars come stock with R-tires It's tempting to allow them, but most races require S-tires to be allowed racing. Don't know how many races where R-tires are allowed, rally-cars would be competitive with the stock configuration.

Verdict: It's OK to use the stock R1 tires on rally cars, as well as S1->S3, dirt and snow tires. Be sure to state tyre-choice when submitting rally-car wins as for any cars.

I have a fair question for the endurance races: What if you bungled a turn and went skidding off of the track. I have a 200 pointer for the Grand Valley 300KM but on the first lap I skidded off into the grass on the first hairpin. I didn't gain any time or anything, but i did go off of the track.
And sorry Smallhorses, but I don't have a MaxDrive.

Anyways:
Endurance races: Tokyo 300km
Honda S2000 LM / FR/ Tires F/R: R1/R1/ BHP: 323 (8814.7 miles on car) Oil change)/ Weight: 1050 kg /PWR: 3.251/ 200 A-Spec Points
Against this line-up:
Mazda RX-7 LM (2nd, +38.XXXs)
Xanavi NiSMO GT-R
Xanavi Hiroto GT-R
Opel Astra Touring Car
Honda NSX-R Prototype LM Race Car
No wheres near as much fun as my other races. Oh well.
