well I got the 193hp mercedes, I certanly can't win that race--I tried it out in practice mode and its 4-6 sec slower (for me) than my S2000. Of course I'm not sure I can win Laguna Seca with an old turbo esprit either....I might try with a 350Z(the light one)

Last of the 4WD races, toughest one to get points at too. Too fast a course to keep up with the likes of the Audi S4 or RS 6 or the Ford RS200 here, in anything that'll give high points, I found.

Beginners hall: 4WD Challenge race 5 - Fuji Speedway
Car: Peugeot 205 Turbo 16 '85 (Used, oil changed) / 4WD / 200HP / 1145kg / 5.7kg/HP / 158 A-spec points.

Smallhorses

The 4WD races is one of the runs where everything is completely overpowered, isn't it? Good job, Smallhorses!

Gawd! Driving Park Beginner course is just the worst place for trying to get clean races! Must have done this race over 20 times until I've actually got a race where all the AI contact can be ascribed to them hitting me, and not vice versa!
They have some really unpredictable behaviour and braking points for such a simple course!
Anyway, I have this submission.....

Beginners hall: MR Challenge Race 1 - Driving Park Beginners course
Car: Toyota MR2 G-Limited '97 (Used, no oil) / MR / 180HP / 1220kg / 6.8kg/HP / 150 A-spec points

Only have 2 more MR challenge races to do, New York & Fuji, and that'll be Beginner events complete (finally!) However, finding stock rides with good points for these could be a challenge in itself!

*edit* This has been the hardest race I've done in a while, harder than some of the 200 point races, and what's it worth?:( Hmmmm.

Beginners hall: MR Challenge Race 4 - Fuji
Car: Acura NSX '91 (Used, no oil) / MR / 241HP / 1365kg / 5.7kg/HP / 107 A-spec points :grumpy:

vs. 1st lineup after reset with Honda NSX Type-S Zero '97 on pole.

*edit* At last! Beginner events are over! On to the Professional hall! :)

Beginners hall: MR Challenge Race 3 - New York
Car: Hommell Berlinette R/S Coupe '99 / MR / 165HP / 950kg / 5.8kg/HP / 142 A-spec

vs. 9th lineup after reset. Has Opel Speedster on pole, both NSXs in 4th & 5th to start with. 👍

Making the most of my wife's urge to spend the weekend shopping with her mates!

Professional hall: Clubman cup race 1 - Apricot hill
Car: Lexus GS300 '91 (Used, no oil) / FR / 259Hp / 1680kg / 6.5kg/HP / 138 A-spec points

vs. strange lineup of all FF cars, about 7 or 8 enter/exits in. Only happens in this car too, tried numerous other cars & couldn't get back to this, but its reproducible in the Lexus. Can't remember what order they start in, but they finished in 2nd to 6th places in this order:- Alfa Romeo 147 GTA '02, Honda Prelude Type S '98, Alfa Romeo GT 3.2 V6 24V '04, Fiat Coupe Turbo Plus '00, Mitsubishi Eclipse GT '06.

*edit* Finally, a use for the disgusting "Fantasiagrun" coloured Lupo which was the 1st car I won in GT4! Just done the World Compact car championship. Won 3 out of 5 races, but couldn't get close, or even qualify higher than 2nd or 3rd for Tsukuba or GVS East. Finished 3rd at each of those The others were easy enough to qualify 1st and hold onto, easiest being Hong Kong, and that was enough for the championship win too! 👍 Puts me past 50%, a shade under 40000 A-spec points, but 2 cool prizecars showed up in my garage! Jaguar XJR-9 Race Car and the Honda S800 RSC Race Car.

Professional hall: World Compact Car Race 1 - Seattle
Car: VW Lupo 1.4 '02 (oil changed) / FF / 103HP / 933kg / 9.1kg/HP / 141 A-spec points

Professional hall: World Compact Car Race 4 - Hong Kong
Car: VW Lupo 1.4 '02 (oil changed) / FF / 103HP / 933kg / 9.1kg/HP / 141 A-spec points

Professional hall: World Compact Car Race 5 - Twin Ring Motegi
Car: VW Lupo 1.4 '02 (oil changed) / FF / 103HP / 933kg / 9.1kg/HP / 141 A-spec points

vs. 1st lineup after reset. Beware of the Opels! :scared:
Have something in mind to go back for the rest of the races later..... :sly:

Smallhorses, you gave me the idea of what to send off my Lotus into retirement with.
Endurance races: El Capitan 200 Miles
Lotus Esprit Turbo HC '87 / MR /Tire F/R: S2/S1 / 228HP (oil changed, 794.16 miles on car) / 1146kg / 5.026kg/HP / 200 A-Spec points!
Against this lineup:
Lotus Esprit Sport 350 +13.298s
Proto Motors Spirra
Shelby Series 1
TVR Cerbera Speed Six
Chevrolet Corvette ZR-1
Lot's of fun. I wasn't sure if I was going to win until I came out of the pits with a 7 second lead on lap 59. I think it's time to send this Bond car into retirement

Toronado

It's had quite a lot of success just recently! I finally got round to winning the rest of the MR races to get my hands on this Bond classic. Sadly mine is red not white :( However, I'm going to have to be very picky about what I do with it, because of my unique way of tackling the game. It'll get 1 race or race series and that's it. However, when I come back mopping up A-spec points later I know from your superlative efforts that it's an excellent source of stock points in many places.
Thanks for sharing with us.

Remember Smallhorses, beware of the brakes. They are very truly bad. 👍

Yeah, it was a white Esprit, which turned into a submarine when the bad guys chased him off the road into some water.
I used to have a little Corgi model of it as a kid.

*edit* Thanks EspritRacer1122, see if you can recall your exact points total & we'll add you to the list of submissions for EC200miles. If you can find a stock 200pt race to submit, we'll add you to the Club 200 list too.
Look forward to more races from you. 👍

When you submit stuff, (select the car, click on sell, it'll bring up the data sheet. Hit cancel afterwards!) & if you put it like this:-

Car / Drivetrain / HP / weight / PWR / points obtained (using the values on the selling screen in the garage)

all on one line, it's easier for us to add to post #1.

Holden Monaro

El Capitan 200 miles

Holden Monaro / FR /333 /1495 Kg / 47.39 kgfm/4000rpm/

Mercedes SL 65 AMG "04
TVR Cerbera Speed Six
TVR T350C "03
Lotus Motor Sport Elise
Shelby Series 1 Supercharged "03

There you go

EspritRacer1122
El Capitan 200 miles
Holden Monaro / FR / 333HP /1495 Kg / 4.5kg/HP / A-spec points?

Ok, we're 99% of the way there, all we need now is your exact points total, we can't really put "close to 200" on the list! :)
PWR should technically be WPR (weight in kg divided by power in HP) do the maths yourself though, the Power to weight ratios on the garage screen are wrong since it always uses PS for the power units. :dopey:
You could just go back to the EC200 and enter again. Don't start the race but look in the top right corner, and it'll tell you how many A-spec points you got, unless you've been back and A-specced it in something else for more points. ;)
Thanks for the details though. Where are you based?

*edit* There's a big discrepancy here. A stock Holden Monaro has a stock weight of 1658kg in the NTSC version. Where are you based?

I noticed that we didn't have an entry for the Suzuka 1000 KM. I decided to fix that. 👍
Suzuka 1000KM
Honda S2000 LM Race Car '01/ Tires f/r: R2/R1 / FR / 320HP (10014.9 miles on car, oil changed)/ 1050kg / 3.281kg/HP / 200 A-spec points
Against this lineup:
Ford Falcon XR-8
Nissan Xanavi NiSMO GT-R
Pennziol NiSMO GT-R GT '99
Honda Takata Dome NSX
Mazda RX-8 LM Race Car
Margin of Victory: 4X.XXXs
Despite this not being my closest race ever, I love Suzuka so much that I didn't even care. Despite my power disadvantage, I still pulled laps around 2:02s with a best lap of 1:59.749 and had a better pit window than they did. A goodly fun race. 👍

does anyone remember what field Toronado raced at Laguna Seca 200 endurance? I've been trying to get a good race, but with any cars comparable to the Esprit---Honda S2000, & Clio Sport, & Esprit, I keep getting horribley beaten...my last try I was behind by 45 seconds only 10 laps in!! so I'm looking if maybe there's an easier field?

Toronado
Endurance races: Laguna Seca 200 miles
Lotus Esprit Turbo HC / MR / Tires: R1 / Power: 229 BHP (oil change)/ 1146 KG/ PWR: 5.011 / 200 A spec points
Against This Lineup:
Shelby Series 1 (I'm starting to hate racing him)
Cheverolet Corvette Z06
Proto Motors Spirra (him as well)
Cheverolet Corvette ZR-1
Saleen S7 (I hate him with all of my will. Good thing he drives about half as fast as he could)

Brakes weren't as much of a problem on this track as they were on Fuji. Finished the race about 7s ahead of the Saleen. Average lap time was around 1:32s. Best lap 1:29.16. About the third best race I've ever taken part in.

👍

Thanx dude
I knew I wasnt great at Laguna, but crap man, I can only get 1:35's here in that car...in practice mode where all tires are perfect forever....I guess I'll try something else....

How are you driving the Esprit? Fast in, slow out or slow in, fast out? Some of the turns you have to drift a little to get through fast enough with that car.

An old variation on the same theme, the 3rd vehicle to grab 200pts here and not too difficult a race either. ;)

American Races: Stars and Stripes Race 3 - Infineon Stock Car Course
Car: Lexus SC300 '97 (Used, no oil) / FR / 249HP / 1560kg / 6.3kg/HP / 200 A-spec points! 👍

*edit* Conversely, the 3rd vehicle to get not quite 200 points here! A lot tougher than the race above, and for less reward! :grumpy:

Professional hall: NA Sports race 2 - Apricot Hill
Car: Honda NSX '93 (6.2mile used, no oil) / MR / 274HP / 1350kg / 4.9kg/HP / 178 A-spec points

I tried both, but saw much more succes driving slower in & fast out...& somewhat drifted through the high speed curves 3 & 5 along with the one the AI loves recking on....I don't see myself ever getting better than maybe a 1.34
I also tried it last night with a 96 RX-7....& after 20 laps when me and the AI all had to pit the viper SRT-10 was 1:08 in front of me.....

Haven't tried anything in that Lotus yet, but maybe I'll give it a shot at some point.
In the meantime, got this one tonight.

Professional hall: NA Sports race 4 - Special Stage 5
Car: Mazda RX-8 Concept (Type-II) '01 / FR / 281HP / 1200kg / 4.3kg/HP / 187 A-spec points

NA sports is much harder to find winable high point races than Turbo sports. :grumpy:

What kind of tires were you using on the Esprit? R1/R1? S2/S1?

R1-R1's on the Lotus......I started it withthe Amuse R1 last night, but was 20 seconds ahead 8 laps in....I don't think I'll ever find a good race here

My first post here, so to start with - hello :)

I'm not normally good enough to go for high A-spec point races, so I was pleasantly surprised when I was going through the Schwarzwald Liga A that I was winning races at 170+

The only clean win so far though is this one (first time I've really made the effort to race properly clean, much more challenging 👍 )

Schwarzwald Liga A, Race 1: Trial Mountain
Opel Speedster '00 / MR / Tyres: S2 / Power: 145bhp (no oil change)/850kg / PWR: 5.862 / 178 A-spec points
Against this field:
VW Golf IV R32 '03
Audi S3 '02
BMW Z4 '03
BMW M Coupe '98
Audi TT Coupe 3.2 quattro '03

Haven't found the 200pt lineup yet - or would switching to S1 tyres do that? If so I'll have to come back to it, as I'm on a strict minimum spend run to get the black LM cars first time through!

I did have an off on the last lap (ran wide onto the grass), but it cost me probably 2 secs and I wasn't saved by a wall, so from what I've read I think it qualifies. If not I'll just have to withdraw and go do it again...

Hello everybody! :)

I raced the El Capitan endurance in a bone stock BMW M3 CSL (with an oil change) in S2 tires and I got 200 a-spec points for winning.
This was the field:

1st: TVR T 350C
2nd: Mercedez-Benz SL 65 AMG
3rd: Lotus Motor Sport Elise
4th: TVR Cerbera Speed Six
5th: Shelby Series 1 Super Charged
6th: BMW M3 CSL (me :dopey: )

The power to weight ratio of my car is 3.6640212

El Capitan endurance
BMW M3 CSL/ FR / 378 (HP) / 1385 (kg) / 3.66402012(kg/HP) / 200 A-spec points

Thanks, gregc I'll add that to the list in post #1. Look out for your name up there after the weekend. Keep plugging away at those 200pt races (Or even repeat one that someone else has tried, preferably not the Ram in the Sunday Cup though!) and you'll soon have your name up there on the Club 200 list too!

@ mprata Thanks for the submission, glad you found the thread.
Could you post your car details like they're requested in Post #1 please?

Race Event
Car / Drivetrain / Power (HP) / Weight (kg) / WPR (kg/HP) / A-spec points

It makes updating the lists a lot easier 'cos we can cut & paste!
Once we get your stats properly, look out for yourself in both lists in Post #1.
Welcome to Club 200.

Last of the Clubman races for me. Will go back for the leftovers on this one later.

Professional hall: Clubman cup race 3 - Seoul
Car: Mazda RX-7 Type R (FD,J) '93 (Used, no oil) / FR / 228HP/ 1260kg / 5.5kg/HP / 147 A-spec points

vs. Lineup (in starting order):- Fiat Coupe Turbo Plus '00, Clio Renault Sport V6 Phase 2 '03, Honda Prelude Type S '98, TVR V8S '91, Audi A3 3.2 Quattro '03

Hi hispeed!
Isn't it 4am where you are?!!!!
Are you up early for the World Cup Qualifier?
Good luck to the Norsemen against the Czech Republic! 👍

*edit* oops, forgot to mention that I'll have an updated list for you after the weekend.
