I gave up trying to complete the Grand Valley 300 with a stock car. I ended up nailing it for 200 points though, but in a modified Toyota SUPERAUTOBACS MR-S. :guilty:

Roll on the next one!

Special Conditions : Umbria Rally (reverse) : Hard difficulty
Car: Opera Performance S2000 '04 / FR / ?HP (274HP on garage screen) / 930kg / ?kg/HP (3.4kg/HP using garage value) / vs. Renault 5 Maxi Turbo Rally Car '85 / 150 A-spec points

That is the hardest track on GT4 without a doubt, so hard coming down the hill through the town from the start line. Though you can gain time at the hairpin section.

I was going to say about a race I did in a Stock car, but I've forgotten it...

Peugeot 206 Cup Race 1 : Opera Paris
Car: Peugeot 206 Rally Car (no oil, S2, min Down force) / 4WD / 305HP / 1230kg / 4.03kg/HP /200 A-spec by Tired Tyres

Peugeot 206 Cup Race 2 : Tsukuba
Car: Peugeot 206 Rally Car (no oil, S2, min Down force) / 4WD / 305HP / 1230kg / 4.03kg/HP /200 A-spec by Tired Tyres

Peugeot 206 Cup Race 3 : Motorland Reverse
Car: Peugeot 206 Rally Car (no oil, S2, min Down force) / 4WD / 305HP / 1230kg / 4.03kg/HP /200 A-spec by Tired Tyres

Peugeot 206 Cup Race 4 : Suzuka East
Car: Peugeot 206 Rally Car (no oil, S2, min Down force) / 4WD / 305HP / 1230kg / 4.03kg/HP /200 A-spec by Tired Tyres

Peugeot 206 Cup Race 5 : Cote d’Azur
Car: Peugeot 206 Rally Car (no oil, S2, min Down force) / 4WD / 305HP / 1230kg / 4.03kg/HP /200 A-spec by Tired Tyres

200 Aspec only if there are three S16's in the field, otherwise maximum is 197 Not bad for a 750,000 Credit car!!!

The lead was taken on the last lap at Opera Paris, second last lap at Tsukuba. Suzuka was off the start line way before the first corner. Motorland was on lap 3 when the AI understeered into the pit lane and the 2nd lap at Cote d'Azur.

When I said no oil by the way that means not giving the car that little boost when it's brand new.

Beginners Hall: FF Challenge Race 2 - Suzuka
Car: Toyota Celica GT-R (ST183, 4WS) (used no oil) / FF / 150HP / 1310kg / 8.73kg/HP / 163 A-spec by Tired Tyres

Not a great entry but I'm rubbish with FF cars so I'm happy about this one!

 YES YES YES!!!

Beginners Hall: FF Challenge Race 2 - Suzuka
Car: Lupo 1.4 '02 Licence car (oil changed) / FF / 105HP / 933kg / 8.91kg/HP / 200 A-spec by Tired Tyres

Nice one Tired Tyres! 👍

Also just noticed that it's RVDNuT374's (Jason) birthday today, and since this is where I mostly notice him on GT Planet, this is the best place as far as I'm concerned to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Keep plugging at those high point races, man!

Did anyone beat the Triumph Spitfire cup with a stock Spitfire? I could beat the first four races stock with fresh oil for 41 points, but I had to get the sport clutch and flywheel to finish Seoul. I got tired of coming in second place.

El Capitain enduro
BMW touring car no oil change,274hp,S1 rear,S2 front.200 A-spec.
Also did this race with the Opera S2000.Same tire combo.200 A-spec.
It was harder with the BMW as it is a heavier car.👍

I'm back with another one!

Took me ages to find a car and a lineup I could do this with, but once I got it sorted I smashed the field by 40secs+.

Anyway, here's the stats:

Endurance races: Laguna Seca 200 miles
Car: RUF 3400S '00 (R1 tyres) / MR / 306HP / 1300kg / 4.24kg/HP / 200 A-spec points

Also, kart racer, you might want to adjust your post above so your entry in the same format as mine? It makes the formatting and updating of the data a lot easier for Smallhorses. :)

ferrari_chris, do you remember the lineup you raced against at Laguna Seca?

Also, regarding the Suzuki GSX-R/4 at El Capitan, I don't know what the original poster did to his car, but in stock form on S2 tires this car will easily win that race. In fact, as far as I can tell, it's the easiest of all the entries for that race..

EDIT:
Just to confirm what I said above, I did the race. Beat the Motorsport Elise by 3 laps, best lap 1.49.144.

Endurance races: El Capitan
Car: Suzuki GSX-R/4 ' 01 (S2 tires) / MR / 173HP / 640kg / 3.7kg/HP / 200 A-spec

EDIT2: Arrgh, sorry. Didn't realize you were talking about the New York race. Nevermind then..:dunce:

EDIT3: Stubborn as some sort of automated stubborning-machine, I'm gonna stick to my guns and my Suzuki.
I just started a New York race, I'm 6 laps in and leading by 15 seconds, and that includes a wipeout that cost me 5-6 seconds. My fastest lap so far is 1.46.597, which according to http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/ps2/file/561066/42904
is more than fast enough, especially considering the excellent tire-life on the GSX.
I'm running against what I think is lineup #2, which has the fastest AI-car, the TVR 350c, starting on pole, so he has not been held up in traffic. Obviously, the race is worth 200 points.
I won't be able to complete the race for now, but I still think the entry should stay in, with the correct stock-stats of course.

Also, does anyone have any lineup data for these two races?:

Extreme Hall: Premium Sports Lounge race 5 - New York
Car: BMW M3 GTR '03 / FR / 394HP / 1350kg / 3.4kg/HP / 200 A-spec by jdw

Professional Hall: Supercar Festival Race 3 - New York
Car: Mercedes SL 55 (R230) '02 / FR / 493HP(no oil) / 1955kg / 4.0kg/HP / 200 A-spec by bhawk776
Car: BMW M5 '05 / FR / 499HP / 1720kg / 3.4kg/HP / 200 A-spec by jdw

Haven't been able to find a beatable 200-point lineup for either race, using the M3 GTR and M5 respectively.

ferrari_chris, do you remember the lineup you raced against at Laguna Seca? ...
I'll do my best - would have been about the 4th or 5th lineup after a reset.

Corvette Gran Sport (Blue, with white stripes)
Viper GTS (Black, with white stripes)
Viper SRT-10 (Red)
C6 Corvette (Black)
SS Camaro (Green)

I needed to push hard all the way and trust in my pit strategy. It wasn't until the final 10 laps that both the SRT-10 and the Gran Sport made their final stops that I pulled out such a big lead. I pitted every 15 laps.

Thanks for the lineup, Chris! :)
I'm trying to collect all the cars, but since I won't use B-spec, that means running the Laguna Seca and El Capitan enduros over and over. And over.
Finding new cars to do it with is always a blessing.

Special Conditions: Swiss Alps Rally : Normal difficulty
Car: Nissan Silvia K's '91 (6.2m used, no oil) / FR / 203HP / 1170kg / 5.8kg/HP / vs. Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VI RS TME / 200 A-spec

Just to confirm what I wrote earlier, I did the New York race in the GSX.
Raced against lineup #4(Aston Martin Vantage, Callaway C12, Lotus Elise, Mercedes SL 65, Dodge Viper SRT10), won by about 1,5 laps over the Viper. Also went the whole race without filling any fuel! :sly:

Endurance races: New York 200 miles
Car: Suzuki GSX-R/4 '01 (S2 tires) / MR / 173HP / 640kg / 3.7kg/HP / 200 A-spec

This car-combination will actually yield 200 points on dirt-races, getting max points on snow looks almost impossible without using the RAM or wallriding.
On this race, just make sure you get the tarmac-section right, and sneak in front of the Subaru when he brakes before the tunnel. Once you're in front, keeping him behind you is surprisingly easy. Trying to pass him on the snow sections is suicide, he's all over the road and just the slightest touch will give you a penalty.

Special Conditions : Chamonix Rally : Hard difficulty
Car: Mazda RX-7 Spirit R Type A '02 / FR / 293HP / 1270kg / 4.3kg/HP / vs. Subaru Impreza Rally Car '03 / 164 A-spec

I just finished up one super close enduro. 👍

Endurance Hall: Tsukuba 9 Hour Endurance
Car: '00 Lotus Elise (S1 tires, oil changed) / MR / 128 HP / 714 kg / 5.58 kg/hp / for 200 A-spec pts. against this lineup:

1. '03 Audi 3.2 Quattro
2. '02 Subaru Impreza Sedan WRX STi
3. '03 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII RS
4. '04 Alfa Romeo GT 3.2 V6 24V
5. '02 Alfa Romeo 147 GTA

My total margin of victory after 9 hrs of racing was only 24.458 sec over the Subaru. The margin would've been even closer if the Evo didn't get held up by the Alfa 147 for a number of laps. I didn't answer Smallhorses' challenge for the Pro Classic Cup Series, but I won my 9 Hour Tsukuba race by a closer margin than he did. ;)

 👍!
Great going!!!

Special Conditions: Chamonix Rally : Easy difficulty
Car: Daihatsu Sirion X4 '00 / 4WD / 118HP / 840kg / 7.1kg/HP / vs. Lancia Delta Integrale '91 / 161 A-spec

Running a 2002 Mazda RX-7 Spirit R Type A, bone stock, no aids, S2s, no oil.

The Spirra is gaining 3 seconds down the straight (eek!), but I'm making it up in the twisties.

This car RAWKS.

Relevance?
You have a stock car, check. 👍
However, there's no specs posted, and crucially no details on the race you're running! :ouch:
Please review the rules in post #1 for correct posting details.

Worked through the most challenging rally-races over the weekend. Unfortunately, I haven't found a 200-combo on any of them yet, except Grand Canyon reverse hard.

Also, I noticed the Lotus Elise 111S will be offered 135 points against the Lancia Delta on dirt, but only 56 on snow!:grumpy:
Possibly a bug there..

Smallhorses: Sorry. I haven't finished it as yet, just stating that I am giving it an attempt.

I know how to post the info correctly; I ran a RUF RGT for 200 A-spec and posted it as well.

Cool enough, sorry for the misunderstanding! :guilty:
How's Yosemite treating you this time round? ;)

I think I'll have to re-roll.

A Spirra and Zonda on S1s proved too much to keep behind me long enough to get in and out of the pits, and I couldn't catch up.

Might run S1s as well.

European Hall: Schwartzwald Liga B race 1 - Nurburgring
Car: Mercedes-Benz SL 500 '02 / FR / 302HP / 1840kg / 6.1 kg/HP / 200 A-spec

Against:
Mercedes SL 600 '04
Audi RS 4 '01
Mercedes SL 65 AMG '04
VW Golf V GTI '05
Mercedes CLK 55 AMG '00

This lineup may be hard to reproduce, I had done several other races, bought cars and so forth which probably affected the car selection.
Obviously, the Merc SL 65 is way faster, I had to block him from Bergwerk and right to the finish. He hit me HARD on the final straight, boosting me from about 235 km/h to almost 270...
But as long as you make it to the front of the pack before he does, it's not too hard.👍

European Hall: Schwartzwald Liga B race 3 - Fuji
Car: Mercedes-Benz SL 500 '02 / FR / 302HP / 1840kg / 6.1 kg/HP / 184 A-spec

vs. lineup #1

European Hall: Schwartzwald Liga B race 5 - Suzuka
Car: Mercedes-Benz SL 500 '02 / FR / 302HP / 1840kg / 6.1 kg/HP / 184 A-spec

vs. lineup #1

I tried the settings given by RVDNuT374 earlier in the thread for this series but, like RVDNuT374, I ran into trouble at Fuji 2005 (By far my least favourite track in GT4 :yuck:).
I needed to switch to R3's to win it, at least it's a new high for this race:

European Hall: Deutsche touring Car Championship race 5 - Fuji
Car: AMG Mercedes 190 Evo-II Touring Car (no oil, R3 tires, downforce @ 32/42) / FR / 376HP / 980kg / 2.6kg/HP / 164 A-spec

Anyone have anything on this? :

Endurance Hall : New York Streets 200 miles
Car: Honda NSX Type S Zero '99 (Used, oil changed, S1 tyres) / MR / 284HP / 1270kg / 4.5kg/HP 200 A-spec points!

(At end of race: 271HP / 1270kg / 4.7kg/HP)

vs. lineup containing:
Dodge Viper GTS '99
Lotus Motor Sport Elise '99
Callaway C12 '03
Ford Mustang SVT Cobra R '00
Chevrolet Corvette ZR-1 (C4) '90

Won by just 4.7s over Ford, and I believe this to be the first sub-300HP unmodified road car to win this even for a full 200 points! :D
Race report can be found here:Another 200 A-spec New York Streets 200 miles. (Stock Honda NSX Type S Zero '99) 👍
There's been a couple of folks that won in the 274HP Opera S2000 '04, but that has performance parts such as adjustable downforce & suspension fitted.

According to jdw's data which I still have access too, the lineup he faced in the BMW M5 at New York in Professional Hall Supercar Festival was VW W12 Nardo, Cadillac Cien, Saleen S7, Ford GT, Spyker C8, in finishing order behind his BMW. Not sure how they start out, but I'm sure there will have been a lot of blocking to do to keep the Nardo & Cien behind him! He shows a 1.4s winning margin, and describes the race as "Painful"!

His notes for Extreme Hall Premium Sports Lounge show that his BMW M3 GTR faced the following lineup in finishing order, Merc SLR McLaren[1], Cizetta V16T, Zonda C12s, Ford GT '05, Merc CL600 with the bracketed 1 indicating that the SLR started in pole position! Again it's described as "Painful" and the winning margin was just 0.1s, probably showing that the SLR was glued to his rear end, and being prevented from passing!

Endurance hall, Laguna Seca 200 miles

Car: Renault Clio Sport Trophy V6 24V Race Car '00 (R1 tires, min. downforce) / MR / 298HP / 1150kg / 3.9kg/HP / 200 A-spec

Fastest lap: 1:32:949

Lineup 10-ish:
Dodge Viper GTS '99
Chevrolet Corvette Z06 C5 '00
Chevrolet Corvette Gran Sport C04 '95
Chevrolet Camaro SS '00
Pontiac GTO 5.7 Coupe '04
Renault Clio Sport Trophy V6 24V Race Car '00

Final margin over 2nd car: 17 seconds. Pretty messy race, with a lot of little mistakes. The Renault is not very forgiving if you clip a bit of dirt under braking, and most mistakes are quite expensive at Laguna Seca. Oh, plus the small matter of running out of fuel on lap 35 :banghead:

Might do this one again with this car, I am sure I can do a lot better :irked:.

-edit- I AM doing it again, I reset the console without saving first :banghead: :banghead:

-update- Much better this time... lapped the entire field, fastest lap 1:31:953
Saved twice this time, just to be sure :D

Been almost 2 months since the last update I did here, had a lot going on in the meantime, + it's snowboarding time again :D, but should get round to making an update this weekend if the mountains don't call me back!

Not a leaderboard worthy effort, but since it's the only other car available and therefore required in order to pick up the S1, figured it was worth trying stock:

Lotus: Lotus Classics - races 2 + 3
Car: Lotus Europa Special '71 / FR / 126HP / 730kg / 5.8kg/HP / 56 A-spec

AI contact prevented clean wins at Hong Kong, Tsukuba, and Apricot

European Hall : Schwarzwald Liga A : Opera Paris Reverse
Car: Car: VW Bora V6 4Motion '01 / 4WD / 201HP / 1540kg / 7.7kg/HP / 200 A-spec points!

vs. 5th lineup after reset, NTSC. Reasonably easy to win if you choose to block cars after passing, but I wanted a totally clean race since it seemed possible. After something like 60 attempts, this is what I got:

2 videos of the race, from front & rear perspective, the AI gets close in places, but the replay is verified clean by jump_ace & Sphinx who deserve huge thanks for preparing these videos for me too! guys!
