New time of mine (already set by @Yassi_99, he was faster)

Lamborghini Diablo GT '00: 07.24.925

My favourite car in GTS. I absolutely adore all Diablo models design wise.

This one feels heavy but at the same time it's surprisingly nimble if you know how to handle it. Still, it's crazy fast in a straight line and also corners pretty well. The sound isn't too bad either.

New time of mine (already set by @Yassi_99, I was faster)

Nissan GT-R NISMO '17: 07.19.055

Simply amazing this thing. The grip is unbelievable. Nice style, good sound, it's very fast and amazing through corners! Its brakes are the obvious weak-point though.

EDIT 2:

New time:

MCLAREN MP4-12c '10: 07.17.122

Not the cleanest lap of mine, but still pretty fast. Admittedly, the car can go around 3 seconds quicker. Man, what to say? It did surprise me very much. Incredibly fast in a straight line. So much so, that I had to lift or even brake at several points on the track, where I didn't have to do this with any other car until now. What surprised and impressed me the most though, is its stabililty. It's just SO stable under braking, even from speeds of 300+km/h, which is just incredible really. Wonderful machine!

EDIT 3:

New time of mine (already set by @Yassi_99, I was faster)

Lamborghini Huracan LP610-4 '15: 07.15.609

You have to do a lot wrong to unsettle this car. By far the easiest car to move at the limit imo. What a car! Incredible speed, crazy stability and cornering! Nice design and sound. Could have been a 7.13 max even. Phenomenal car really.

EDIT 4:

New time: Dodge Viper GTS '13: 07.20.606

Puh what a drive! Incredible, incredible car this! In general I am very much surprised by all the Viper models. They just match my driving style perfectly I guess. It's just so easy to slide and drift this thing around corners at various speeds. It doesn't look and sound too bad either. Also, obviously it's intimidatingly fast.

EDIT 5:

New time of mine (already set by @Yassi_99, I was faster)

MCLAREN 650S Coupe '14: 07.15.563

It's basically the MP4, but slightly improved. It is slightly more stable and faster, but also has slightly more understeer and it's not so easy to drift. All in all a phenomenal engineering feat I would say. Great to drive and crazy fast.

I just wanted to create the same topic but found this thread before, great work you did here 👍

In my opinion there's not enough streetcar racing in sports mode and combos like the Porsche on Nordschleife are much to rare. Even those combos are real fun to drive. :)

Here´s my first episode with the Ferrari F50 and a 7.26,692 lap time . I did like 30 min warmup and the live lap after this so theres still some time on the track. Also everything feels different with racingsuit, helmet and gloves on

Damn, your setup is pure gold O_o

Yeah if you want you can help us filling the chart with even better lap times. I already watched many of your YouTube videos and I'm very impressed by your clean yet very fast and consistent driving. As a tip for @Alex p. and you, the F50 is much faster if you don't use the 2nd gear (especially at Schwedenkreuz, Adenauer Forst or Wehrseifen) as the shifting time kills your flow and exit speed. Therefore it's much better to stay in 3rd :-)

New time: Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 '11: 07.14.105
I'm just so impressed how far technology is with the hyper cars. This thing, with its 690hp, feels so damned planted. Amazing handling, crazy speed, good brakes, awesome design and nice sound! Also, it's very easy to drive at the limit. Much, much easier, than in GT5. So far the fastest lap I have set in GTS.

Interesting. Also, I'm still waiting for your replay of the F50 lap. ;)

@zocker_16 Nice set-up and driving! Gonna post my set-up here sometime too.

If I find the time I will retest the F50 as I can definitely go even faster with the new update. I will still upload the older lap I think as it is beautiful to watch though

New time: Aston Martin ONE-77 '11: 07.15.057
The second fastest time I've driven for now and with a really perfect lap it could very well have been the fastest (even if barely). I mean you can really feel its weight, especially under braking, but boy does this thing go! In a straight line it was the fastest car I tested yet, even slightly faster, than the 650S. Through the corners it's really faster than it should be. Great, great car actually, I'm very positively surprised!

EDIT:

New time: Toyota GR Supra RZ '19: 07.45.686

Initially I was quite annoyed by its driving mechanics, but you really need to get used to it, and once that happens, it becomes a really fun ride. It's quite the slidy thing but that said: some nice drifts are easy to do! I believe it's because of the recent physics update but man, the lap time is much faster, than I anticipated it to be! Although, the chief engineer of Toyota claimed it can lap the Nordschleife in 7:40mins. I guess he had drifferent tyres than the sports hards of GTS in mind though. :P

The funny thing is: Right after having purchased it in the game and having driven it on the Nordschleife for around 2 hours, I got it as the daily gift, and with almost the exact same colour as I bought it too! :D

EDIT 2

New time: Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren '09: 07.24.080

My lap wasn't the best, but still quite fast. So yeah, the car is quite impressive. Has great looks and is very easy to drive. It really doesn't like to drift though.

EDIT 3

New time of mine (already posted @Yassi_99, I was faster)

Aston Martin Vulcan '16: 07.14.218

Two rules for this car: 1. Better not turn while accalerating, 2. Avoid curbs. The most difficult car to move at the limit I believe. Driven right, its corner speed is unbeaten yet. Its straight line speed is by far the fastest. There's still some seconds left. Crazy car.

EDIT 4

New time of mine (already posted @Yassi_99, he was faster)

Ferrari Enzo Ferrari '02: 07.13.852

Fastest lap I've done yet. Fastest straight line speed of all the cars I already tested. I just forgot how rediculously fast this thing is! Ferrari made there something truly special! And that in 2002! Yes, even in GTS it does still understeer quite some bit but other than that, it feels wonderful! In GT5 it was a constant change between massive understeer and oversteer, but here it's really planted.

I want to improve my time on the daily race (currently on a 8:01,8xx) but my Internet completely messed up this week. No wifi since 3 days now :(

New time: Lamborghini Veneno '14: 07.09.616
Very, very planted this thing. Amazing cornering, stability, speed, sound, design, and also simply a joy to drive! Amazing car really.

New time of mine (already posted by @Yassi_99, he was faster): McLaren F1 '94: 07.09.563
What an unbelievable car this is. Built in 94 and faster than most modern supercars, actually faster, than all of them. Only hypercars can give it a run for its money. Also, its handling is just ssssuuuperb! It's just really so easy to move at the limit and to improve slightly lap by lap, it all goes so natural! Just an absolutely fantastic car!

@zocker_16 Very impressive time and driving!

EDIT

New time: Bugatti Veyron 16.4 '13: 07.04.936

I really hoped to bring it under the 7 minute mark. Can it do it? Hm, the worldwide best drivers could theoretically do it, maybe with a lot of trickery and corner cutting. But it can certainly get very close to it at least. Well, what can I say? The speed is insane but less impressive, than I remembered it to be. Probably thanks to modern hyper cars. You can feel its 2 tonnes in general very much, but especially under braking. Other than that, I truly think this is an absolutely amazing car and it drives extremely well concidering its weight, power, and by todays standards...also its age.

EDIT 2

New time: Pagani Huayra '13: 07.04.352

Can the Huayra go under the magic 7 minute mark? Possibly. It can certainly do it better, than the Veyron. The downforce and grip of this thing are unbelievable! The speed is also absolutely exrtreme, around as fast in a straight line as the Veyron, if not even faster. Concidering its HP and that it is rear wheel drive, its handling seems like magic really. The sound is aggressive and the design is pure art. This is a very good representation of the blend between engineering and art. Amazing, amazing car...

Also I brought the LaFerrari down to a 07.01.576. Am gonna try to break the 7 minute barrier with it in the coming weeks.

EDIT 3

New time of mine (already posted by @Yassi_99, he was faster): STOCK but with sports hards Pagani Zonda R '09: 06.57.846

This car has really an insane amount of downforce and grip. The speed, with which you can take the corners, is the highest of all yet tested cars. Well, it is a race car after all. The speed to 280 km/h is crazy, from there on it's rather "tame" though. Still, this is a highly impressive piece of machinery. I love it.

@Yassi_99 : How in the world did you manage a 06.52.1xx?!!? Was it really stock and with sports hards? Any driving aids? If not, then wow...

Sorry for not being active for the past weeks but my wifi broke down. Yeah, the Zonda R lap was driven with SH tires full stock without any aids. Now I can finally start uploading the laps to YouTube (I didn't forget the F50 too) :). Because of the new update the Zonda could probably manage a lap under 6:50 though.

Absolutely impeccable driving. Absolute world class. Really interesting to see what you do differently. Your driving is so incredibly controlled, precise and so obviously "cold-calculated". It really reminds me of the aliens on GtPlanet of the old times like @mikegt3 and @Suzuki(?) and absolutely looks like you would be using a wheel. I wonder if you would be just as fast as now. Eh who am I kidding...you would kick my butt even more...

Thank you! Yeah I'm quite proud of this lap myself but of course I do a lot of very stupid mistakes too. It's just that the F50 fits my driving style perfectly.

The Corvette C3 won the first voting, so here´s my next lap around the Nordschleife. :)

Time: 8:12.916

The car isn´t very stable and tends to oversteer when you turn in too hard. I had two big slides in my live lap which cost about 0,5-1 sec each.
Would have done another one but things got really warm under the racing suit :embarrassed:
With enough time to understand the special behavior of this car i think it´s possible to shave off another few seconds.

Pagani Huayra (N700) - 6:59,032

Absolute madman of a vehicle. Extremely juicy engine with enough torque to mess with every threat below and above its power range. It really outperforms everything except the LaFerrari which has around 200hp more. In the beginning it feels much easier to drive than some other vehicles (like the TVR Tuscan or even the LaFerrari) but as soon as you reach the limit, you should damn well know what you're doing behind the wheel or pad. Very easy to overshoot your braking point because of the astonishing straight line performance.

Sorry if I am messing up the thread and repeating a question. I see the default tires are sports hard, shouldn't it have been the stock tires? Reason I am asking is that I messed around on this track with a few different cars today and it felt like some cars, in this case the original GT40 was very tough to drive on racing hard but on comfort soft (stock aparantly) it was predictable and easier to control. It felt like the car was supposed to use those tires.
We set the testing compound to Sport Hard on all cars to create a fair environment for comparison. Of course what you are explaining here is true in some cases: Race tires themselves are easier for driving fast but sometimes, especially with street cars, the characteristics of the vehicle and the tires don't go well together. You will archieve higher cornering speeds but catching slides is much more difficult as the input and snap will be much sharper. Therefore it's quite extreme to compare RH to CS tires. By the way, SH ones are only one step away from CS so that might be the perfect way to go.

Haven't posted here in a while, but since i got a wheel now, i decided to join back on Nordschleife action

Lancia Stratos - 8:55,942

If you open the word "oversteer" in a dictionary, a picture of Lancia Stratos will be there. This car is extremely oversteery. Slightly lifting off the throttle? Oversteer. Turn a tiny bit too much? Oversteer. Slightly nudge a grass patch? Oversteer. Braking in a downhill? Oversteer.

I honestly haven't driven a more slidey car than this one and i was literally on 110% concentration mode when i was trying to make a clean lap in this.

Now don't get me wrong, it is not a bad car: sounds nice, decent acceleration/top speed for a N200, impressive brakes for a classic car. It's just, if you drive your cars a bit more aggressively (like me), you'll need to adjust your driving style immensely for this car

I am sure i can push it to 8:45s with tuned diff, but stock is just too much of a handful for me to time trial

New time: Toyota Sprinter Trueno 3door 1600GT APEX (AE86) '83: 08.57.940
Little, quirky and somewhat drifty Japanese classic. Yep, it's certainly not the fastest, but still fun to throw around. :)

Absolutely INSANE time! I knew it could go under the 7 minute mark, and if anyone could do it, it was you. ;) So congrats!

I would also absolutely love to see what you could do with the Veyron. In that case it would be far more difficult to bring it under the 7 minute mark.

EDIT: New time of mine (already posted by @OJT6627 , I was faster): STOCK Lancia Stratos '73: 08.09.077
I must say I'm pretty pleased with my lap, but there are still some seconds left to get. Problem is: it's really just SO easy to leave time on the track. The tiniest steering mistake in a long turn and you basically lost a second, because this car has this wierd tendency to lose much speed for the next straight. With other cars it's mostly 2-3 tenths of a second. Other than that it was much, much faster around the course than I expected it to be. And you can really have fun with it, because of its slidy and drifty nature. ;)

Thank you bro :-)
It was quite a wild ride with the Huayra. I might test the Veyron today so let's see if 300HP (and also almost 700-800kg) more are even handable.

New time: Lamborghini Countach 25th Anniversary '88: 07.39.862
Man I love its iconic desing. It is also much easier to drive than the L400 model, and is much faster around the track. It definetly also sounds really nice and is quite the joy to drive, except the rather pronounced understeer. Love this car.

Mate, you literally shaved ~45 seconds from my laptime. Feeling kinda embarassed now

Seriously tho, very nice laptime. I just can't manage to drive Stratos fast in this game. DIRT Rally 1 version is much more predictable

Hehe, well I gave my best. The car is really difficult to move at the limit though.

New time of mine (already posted by @Yassi_99, he was faster): STOCK Ferrari LaFerrari '13: 07.01.576
Well, well, there it is. The holy grail of hypercars, at least in GTS. What can I say? Yes, it is unbelievably fast in a straight line. Is it difficult to move at the limit? Yes, very much so. Its sound is typicall Ferrari I guess. Its all around speed is really just so impressive. Would it have a better handling, times under the 7 minute mark would be so easy. I really, really wanted a sub 7 time, but can't be arsed enough honestly to try further. The lap I did was very, very good considerung the car. All in all, yes this is an amazing piece of engineering!

Man, what a beast! It really feels like driving on ice. The tiniest mistake and you're off! Obviously its speed and cornering is unrivaled. Absolute madness this car! What really pisses me off is my Thrustmaster T300RS? It always "gives" up after around 1 hour. It gets really loose, loud and you get less and less feel while using it. In such a car this is devastating, because it gets not only extremely frustrating, but basically impossible to drive on the limit. The car spun basically instantly every time I entered the small Karussel and when I exited the big one. It's just rediculous! Why did a pay 330 Euro for it? I don't know. Already did send it for repair once. What an overpriced, unreliable and underengineered piece of hot garbage! I could have been faster a few seconds, oh well. Gonna buy the T-GT in the next few weeks and sell this one I guess. Anyone interested? (it works really well, but isn't REALLY good for on the limit hot lapping)

I would have a look at Fanatec as well. A friend has a CSL Elite and he's more than happy with his deal.

Do you use the wheel with forced cooling on?
Also, what FFB settings do you use in the game?

Good choice, but far too expensive. I could easily afford it, but 800+ Euros for something that could brake after 2 years without the possibility of repair. Nope.

Do you use the wheel with forced cooling on? Also, what FFB settings do you use in the game?

Forced cooling? What's that? I guess yes, because it gets very loud while using it. The FFB settings are in the lower/middle end, nothing excessive.
